Random thoughts on a sunny Saturday:
1. My favorite flowers just showed up at the garden center. I wait all year for the Dipladenias to arrive. We buy them every April and they bloom(with proper watering) through September.
Dipladenia and Mandevilla are cousins (except I think Dipladenia is cuter).
2. It has been storming here in Texas. Thunderstorms and lightning and hail.
Someone posted grapefruit size hail on social.
Yikes.
3. We are all about the NFL draft here. Zack and my husband haven’t missed a round yet.
Are y’all watching?
4. It was an amazing week on the blog. This week we talked about:
- budget kitchen remodel tips
- how to get stains out of area rugs
- five lessons I learned from Steel Magnolias
- easy office organizing ideas
5. In amazing news, I just got an advanced copy of my next book. It’s SO GOOD and all about easy 10-minute decorating ideas. I’ll be sharing some of the details and teasers coming up in the next couple of months.
And now?
It’s the weekend.

Numerous reads for me. I love it. I hope you enjoy your Saturday. Its chilly, wet and cloudy her in West Ohio.
Pinned so many things! Thank you! It's chilly here in Castle Rock but warming up this weekend! xo laura
The New England farmhouse is wonderful. It looks like a place to plop down and find rest for your soul. Maybe while eating the blueberry popsickle--yum.
My poor husband this am, as I was reading your wonderful post I kept saying,” oh my gosh, garage doors! oh my gosh shutters!” Both subjects we have been discussing in great length with the results always being, “if you can find me more information and photos we can work on it”. New garage doors for my gym and shutters coming soon! You are the best ! xx
Sooooo very good to be back! Thank you.
I love the New England Farmhouse. Simply elegant! I love a home with less stuff.
Hi KariAnne- I love the story of the table your brother built. No doubt the twins will love it while using it at Baylor. Thanks for keeping life real. Your decidedly imperfect friend. Anna.
It is stormy, windy and cool in AUSTIN, TEXAS also.
Happy to see Thistlekeeping still thriving. NJ can't make up its mind with the weather. We have been taking care of our girl Peanut. We are very worried and upset in this household right now. Your stories brightened my day.
I love Thistlekeeping and all the things you give us to see. Thanks so much.
Wonderful thistles, KA!! I *realllllly* loved that lake house tour. Wow, it was so perfect.
Of course I loved the New England farmhouse tour!! Thank you!!! xoxo
