I do make my bed daily and in the morning after breakfast I put away all the stuff that accumulates on countertops in bathrooms and kitchen. I figure that those are areas that guests would see first. The rest is tidied throughout the day. I stick to a schedule and that helps this all over the place mom.

You come up with the best ideas. Now about the bed making ... absolutely make my bed every day. Feels so good to slide into a well appointed bed every night.

Thanks so much for sharing our Crochet for a Cure story. We so appreciate you helping us get the word out about our fundraising efforts. You're be the best KariAnne! By the way, I don't make the bed right away. I let it air out and then I tidy it a little later :). How about you?

I Love all the ideas from the post! I have made my bed every morning since I was a kid I love the feeling of having my room pulled together and as I pass it during the day I peek in and smile! It’s the small things!

Ok. So I know I'm happier when I make my bed but I am a Gemini so sometimes I make it. LOL I read the slowing down blog and this year I did something for me. I saw an advent calendar that was a necklace. I wanted to see my granddaughters would like it next year. Well, I have been like a child waiting to open it every day! I'm on a trip and made sure to bring it with me. It has brought me more pleasure than I expected. Now why don't you do a blog next year on how to make an advent calendar? LOL

Hi Karianne The outside of your house is stunning. I am certain you've heard that a time or two. 😊 I make my bed daily but not until I let my 3 little dogs out at 3 a.m everyday, give them breakfast and then sit and read Thistlewood with my 2 cups of coffee. It takes two. (Yes we are up at 3 everyday) Then I make my bed with the decor throw pillows and all. You gotta represent. Thanks for a great read that I will finish tomorrow with my two coffees. Enjoy your Saturday.

Hi KariAnne, yes, most days I make the bed as soon as I get up. It makes the bedroom look much better when it’s all made up. And for a Christmas movie that I forgot about, it’s “All that heaven allows”, and it’s from 1955! Rock Hudson and Jane Wyman. Rick Hudson stars as the gardener delivering the Christmas tree to Jane Wyman’s character, who is widowed with grown children. She’s the older lady and he’s the younger man. I saw this in the 1970’s and it’s a love story. Anyway, you might check it out! 🤶 Thanks as always for your blog, which I read every day with my morning coffee!

I always make the bed every morning as soon as I get up. A beautifully made bed makes me feel more organized & put together even before I take a shower! Even if a bedroom is clean, an unmade bed just makes the room look unkempt and neglected. There have even been studies that show the psychological benefits of making your bed every morning!

I have always made my bed in the morning for as long as I can remember, if I have a horrible-terrible-no good day, when I get home and ready for bed, at least that is one thing that has gone right.

Hi KariAnne, Merry Christmas! Thanks for all the great weekly entertainment. I do make my bed every morning, but only after it has aired out for almost an hour. My dear mom started me on that routine more than sixty years ago, and I'm still doing it. I have recently read studies that show that it's important for sanitary reasons. Moms are so smart!

Oh, the winter lodge! I want to go there! As for the bed, yes, I do make it most mornings. Once in awhile I will allow myself to be lazy but mostly I like how it looks when it is made. My mom told me, way back when, that a bed is the largest thing in your bedroom and if it looks messy then the whole room looks untidy. I don't know why that impressed me so much, but there you have it.

I've told you before but its worth saying again your Christmas house is beautiful. Yes either me or my husband make the bed everyday, pillows and all it makes the room. Just watched Hallmarks Haul out the Holly, it was cute I am also using a santa mug or snowman for my coffee. Have a great evening ( I was late reading )KariAnn

I love your red and white Christmas decorating. I also have a small hutch with red and white, the difference is my houses are white with red wooden Merry Christmas letters. The red and white shows really well together. Your question about do you make your bed every morning? Yes, it is the first thing I do when I get out of it in the morning. It helps me to stay on top of keeping my house neat and tidy. I feel so much better if someone is to drop in unexpectedly, I will be comfortable during their visit.

Hi KariAnne- I make my bed 90% of the time. Sometimes, I just wake up too late. Love the snow globe DIY and the sequin top from Talbots! Christmas is within sight… ( may not have time to make my bed this week)
