Random thoughts on an October Saturday morning:
1. Have you ever played Pokeno before? I hosted a Pokeno party here at the house this week and it was so much fun. Pokeno is kind of like Bingo.
You can see the game we used here.
2. I have my own mini shopping show now on Amazon. This week was all about my favorite bedding and linens.
You can see it here.
(total aside: It’s an hour long, so when you watch it on replay—you can just click on the items on the bottom to speed it up).
3. When I shared my eyebrow story, I got several suggestions for eyebrow threading. Has anyone ever tried it?
4. It was a fun week on the blog. We discussed:
- 10 of my favorite neutral rugs
- the fall video tour of the house
- 10 things you already have around your house you can use to decorate for fall
- 11 pumpkin project ideas
And now?
Let’s see all the amazing stuff I found for us to start the week off right.
LET’S GO.

Hello, I love having brows threaded! But it’s hard finding a shop around here, the one I went to closed. Give it a try, mine was always pain free, you can feel the little hairs falling on you face..good luck..thanks for all you share, can’t wait to read!
KariAnne you made my weekend my friend! Thank you for sharing my pumpkin baked Brie! I hope you have the best Saturday
Happy October and weekend. Thank you for always sharing.
KariAnne, Have a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for all the inspiration.
You've included so much Fall goodness as well as tips in one post KariAnne. I love your style, and those of the blogs you shared.
KariAnne, I have been getting my brows threaded for several years. Hot wax takes my skin off! YIKES! I go about once a month and while it is not totally pain free, it is not bad.
Eyebrow threading is a huge YES!!!! add in a trip to Sweden??? Extra YES!!!!!! Happy October to you and yours!
Ah, October. My fave. So many beautiful things to check out today! In other news .... never had my eyebrows threaded--would that hide the hole in your eyebrows? Let us know what you decide to do. When do I need to get my passport updated so we can go to Sweden? 😉 Also, I don't watch a ton of tv but PBS is having Miss Scarlet and the Duke coming up this month and I think you'd like it. I'm also looking forward to Magpie Murders.
Happy October KariAnne!
Thank you for sharing so many great links! I have not yet tried eye brow threading but I am considering it… evidently it’s difficult to find a good person (stylist??) who can help you. I always have to pencil in my eye brows.
Happy October, KA! Yes, to pumpkin shaped baked brie. If you try eyebrow threading tell me everything. Loved all the neutral rugs. And appreciate the fall TV lineup ... pouring over it now. Thanks for sharing my kitchen. You're the best. xo
Great Thistles this week, KA!! I absolutely loved that home tour. I think there may have been tears involved. LOL.
Happy October, KariAnne!!! xoxo
Always look forward to Thistlekeeping... a little late to the party...but, it never disappoints.
