Random thoughts on a sunny almost summer Saturday morning:

1. Happy Mother’s Day. May your day be full of celebrating the special mothers in your life.

2. We spent the weekend planting all the things. I wait every year for May to show up along with my favorite plant on the plant, Dipladenia. We get them every May and they rebloom and rebloom and last until October in Texas. They are in the Mandevilla family, but they don’t have to use a trellis or a stake.

3. I just got BritBox TV. I wanted to watch The House Of Elliot and I signed up for a free trial and loved it so much that kept it. Do you have it and if so what are your favorite shows?

4. It was an amazing week on the blog. We talked about

5. If you are looking for a good book, The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah is amazing. Also check out the Four Winds and Winter Garden. Perfect summer reading.

Love this! We need a shed. I need a place to store EVERYTHING in the yard. My husband and son our headed to Dallas to park his car at the airport until he starts his summer internship in Dallas! They are going to check out some areas to rent (or airbnb). And fly home tomorrow in time for Mother's Day bbq. Happy Mother's Day friend! I am not going to Haven this year because I am going to the Erma Bombeck writer's workshop in October. It happens to be hosted at my youngest son's university (Where Erma went to school). So we may need a Dallas Mini-Conference this Summer! Again Happy Mother's Day! Colorado Laura

My daughter and I took a couple of road trips and were very blessed to score several treasures from Marian’s virtual sale. You should have seen our giddiness when she told us she’d leave us alone to “make piles” of what we wanted. I love having a bit of Miss Mustard Seed’s beauty now gracing my home, and some quality time with my daughter was an added bonus!

Happy Mother's Day! I just finished reading 3 books written by Viola Shipman. The Charm Bracelet, The Recipe Box and The Hope Chest. They are set in Northern Michigan, my home state. I also watched and enjoyed The House of Elliot. I love British mystery shows like Miss Marple, Father Brown and Midsomer Murder. I also really like Agatha Raison on Acorn. Everyone talks about Vera, so I think I'll give her a try! I just watched a short video on Youtube called I'll Love You Forever. It's about the love a mother has for her son. Perfect for Mother's Day. Keep a box of Kleenex handy. You'll love it. I always look forward to your blogs. You and your home are just beautiful!

Vera is my fave Britbox show (I started renting her several years ago from the library before Britbox.) She is a rumpled curmudgeon in a trench coat who has a young guy assistant to put her booties on when they scope out a crime scene. I love it that she calls everyone "pet" and "love". Also Sister Boniface is charming, a nun with college degrees in sciences that help her solve crimes.

BritBox has both Father Brown series, though I am partial to the newer version; and Sister Boniface is a newer series on there that I enjoyed. Midsommer Murders, Downton, and all the Agatha Christie's and Jane Austen's are so good!. So many good shows on BritBox and Acorn, too.

Hope you had a grand Mother's Day celebration! I wish my mother was here for me to lavish hugs and kisses on her. :( I don't pay for Brit Box but I do have a few of the programs on the Brit Box that is on Pluto TV. Two (and there are probably a couple more) of my favorites are Midsomer Murders and Father Brown. Love British programming. Thanks for all your hard work. You're the bestest! 😍

Hello KariAnne- First - thank you so much for sharing the waxed pine dresser! I truly appreciate it. Also, I love BritBox. The British have the BEST shows. Thank you also for sharing Marian's post about her moving. Marian was a mentor of mine several years ago. She is truly a lovely person. Thank you again for your support and guidance.
