I’ll be interested to see how you decorate the dorm rooms. We live on Cape Cod and northeast dorm rooms are very understated. One daughter is in school in Pennsylvania and she’s pretty low-key. My younger daughter will be attending SMU in Dallas (she moves in a few weeks!) and we have noticed that girls’ dorms are much “frillier”- covered headboards, long bed skirts, etc.. She’s not too sure about the style. Fortunately she has a similarly-minded roommate.

I know the girls' rooms will be amazing. You probably have been dreaming about this for years! I have thought about what you will be going through when the house is too quiet!

Will you and Denny be wearing clothes or not, now that you are empty-nesters?!?!?! Lol Wouldn't we all like to be a fly on the wall???

Another weekly wrap-up packed full of amazing projects! And yes, Brimfield is amazing (our Massachusetts home is very close to it!).....so much to see there!

It is so hot outside and I am so glad you gave me so many pretty things to look at. I just know when you get through with the girls dorm room it will be a wonderful place for them to relax in after a long day. Take lots of pictures!!

I love donna Marie's comment. You definitely need to get that hip fixed so that you can chase him around the house. I so appreciate the feature. You are amazing and I am so thankful for you. Hugs to you, my friend.

Yes, please do a post on college dorm rooms and supplies. My daughter, who is transferring in as a junior after community college, doesn't start until late September and we still don't have a dorm assignment. I'd appreciate if you could add hints and tips from what your experience has been with your sons as to what they didn't need or want. Thanks!

I was hoping you were going to say all those gorgeous flowers in the opening picture were faux and where to get them!! Love your personal style! Congrats

Being so conscious of the calories in everything edible/drinkable...was wondering if that yummy peach tea could be made with diet ginger ale? Or maybe that doesn't work...have you tried it that way?

Lots of goodness packed into today’s Thistlekeeping … what am I saying, it’s always jam packed with stuff I need to know and see. That Cape Cod cottage … I ’m dreaming! And Courtney’s deer tips are just what I needed … but I also learned when (or not) to prune my foxglove. I’ve been confused on that. Peach tea is just what we need here at Snowberry to fully enjoy August. And speaking of August, I can’t believe the twins will be off to college. I’m sure they’ll have the cutest dorm rooms ever! xo

Wow, times flies, right. I know the girls dorms will be fabulous. I too have a child starting to college soon. However, it’s a boy. If you have tips/ideas for a boy form, I will greatly appreciate it. Keep this in mind, my son don’t like to pickup after himself. HELP!!!
