Random thoughts on a chilly April Saturday morning:

1. I feel like a new person. I WENT YARD SALING THIS MORNING.

I know, right?

Yard saling. Where you leave the house with $20 and come home with baskets and a vintage plant holder and vintage books and the cutest white platter. I’m going to share everything over on Facebook live this morning.

2. If you missed this week’s episode of “What I Bought Wednesday,” no worries.

I put it all on YouTube here.

3. For everyone who hasn’t tried the under $5 mascara yet?

My mother ordered it and told me it was amazing.

4. It was an incredible week on the blog. We talked about decorating with blue and white and discussed this before and after and these DIY’s for your backyard patio.

And I shared all the cute places (and some spring outfits) I’ve been shopping for clothes.

5. Do any of you have an air fryer? I’m sharing a brussel sprout recipe that looks SO GOOD, but I don’t have one and I’m wondering if it’s worth it?

6. The squirrels are eating our herb garden. Has anyone else had this problem? We are thinking about trying to create tops out of chicken wire.

And now?

I have SO MANY cute things to share with you this week.

Let’s GO.

Good Morning! I highly recommend the Ninja Foodi XL Grill which is an air fryer as well. Since you are eating more healthy foods, it grills your chicken, etc. like a bbq and you can do it from frozen. I am telling you that it's life changing. It's not cheap BUT well worth it. I gave one to my daughter and she thanks me all the time as it has saved her so much time with after work cooking. She uses the air fryer function all the time and swears by it. I am a fan of the Instant Pot, I have 3 (yikes I need help) but one has the lid that crisps things up. It seems that most people who have air fryers have more than one because the amount is not enough for a family and/or you make more than one item at a time. But I am still sticking behind my recommendation for the Ninja Foodi XL Grill since you can do many things with it. Yes it's big, yes it's heavy BUT it works. We do not use our bbq anymore. I like the one with the probe that you stick into the food while cooking and it lets you know when it's done....no guesswork, Steaks are amazing on it as well as chicken but my daughter recommends it for the air fryer. Give it a look.

I have a combo toaster oven/air fryer that my kids got me for Christmas last year. I use the toaster oven function almost every day for cooking/baking, but the air fryer part not so much. It seems to take forever and you still have to oil things up to get any crispness out of it. So if you buy one, get a brand that someone loves and recommends. Many people love theirs. Hoping you put your garage sale finds on your blog, I don’t do Facebook. Can’t wait for them to start around here!! Loved your post today!!

We use our Ninja toaster oven, which has a air fryer, all the time! It really works great! Have not seen any garage sales around here lately....can't wait! Thanks for compiling all of the interesting links...more projects to think about!

I have a Cuisinart toaster oven/air fryer combo and love, love, love it. It makes perfect bacon every time, totally krispy every time. I've also fried chicken and made biscuits. The food is not greasy so a healthy way to fry. It's pretty quick so I always use my timer so I don't burn things. One thing to consider, it takes up counter space and space is needed above it and on the sides. since it can get hot. Consider where you will place it and if you have enough room for it.

I totally enjoy reading your entries every day and you are so lucky to be able to go yard sailing as up here in Ontario, Canada we are in the midst of the third wave of Covid 19. You are my inspiration that there is a light at the end of the tunnell. Have you posted your incredible weight loss secret as yet? If so, I did not get it.

Love my air-fryer!! Could not live without it. I use it at least 3x a week. It is a very healthy way to fry foods and it is really fast. It takes no time to preheat and cook. Can be done with some foods before the oven would even be preheated!! I use no oils, just cooking spray in mine! Love your blog!

Good Morning Sunshine! This was a such a jam packed, full of good things post! I am sharing my ideas on 2 topics. The darn squirrels - once they begin they never stop. Be very vigilant about doing everything you can to deter them. Yes, cage the gardens that they are attacking. Even if caging isn’t cute it is important. Particularly since your home is older they want nothing more than to get in and destroy it from the inside out. Believe me, we’ve been there! Have the professionals take a look at every spot the squirrels might get in around the roof, gutters, siding. Second - the sir fryer. We have a Ninja. It is the right size for 2 and a bit tight for 4. So if you buy be sure you get a large one. We do love it. Favorite things are crab cakes, bacon, packaged potato things like nuggets. Prior to the fryer I never prepared french fries or packaged potato things because I do NOT deep fry. The fryer really does eliminate grease. However, I must say when you see how much grease comes off bacon you will feel guilty with every bite. Now back to the post and reading details!

Excellent thistles this week, KA. Get a extra large (think costco or sam's club) sized red pepper flakes and sprinkle around anything you don't want squirrels or rabbits munching on. It helps a lot. My herb garden is never bothered. My sister thinks air fryers are the best thing since microwaves. We don't have one here but everyone I know who has one is hooked and loves it. Maybe we need to get one too - just hate to add to my extra stuff, I am trying to get rid of stuff. Never easy, haha. I absolutely hate brussel sprouts - it's so weird - we make them so many ways and I can hardly stand them. I honestly think it is the only vegetable I cannot eat, haha. I am not a fun of cauliflower either but can at least palate it. Brussels are so good for a body too. Even my grand daughter likes them. I am just such a baby about them lol.

Loved all your yard sale finds! We have a air fryer but haven't used it. Ugh. Maybe this Brussels sprouts recipe will be the thing that finally gets it out of the box! xo

Are your herb plants in the ground? I set old bird cages over my plants to keep the bunnies from munching on them. Maybe they would work for you as well?

I got an air fryer for Christmas a few years ago and it was so big I did t want to store it, never even took it out of the box and sold it on fb marketplace. I have regretted it so many times when I see a recipe I want to try and it is done in one. I love seeing all your clothes shopping post and happy you are enjoying getting a whole new wardrobe.

If you don't want to purchase yet another appliance, you can always oven roast the sprouts!! They're delicious that way!!! xoxo
