Random thoughts on a Labor Day Saturday weekend:

1. I hope you are doing more funning and less laboring this long weekend.

2. Yesterday my husband came in with a smoothie that he told me he created. He told me I would like it. He told me it was healthy. And when I asked him what was in it? He proudly told me with a smile.

Chocolate and broccoli.

Ummm.

No. Just no.

3. Our Christmas Crafts have started over in the FREE Christmas group. This past week we made a tree with vintage jewelry and a coastal Christmas wreath. If you haven’t joined us yet, I wanted to invite you over to the group. You can request an invite here.

4. I’m putting together the most AMAZING e-book for Christmas and I’d love for you to be a part of it. You don’t need a blog or even social media, I just want to see YOUR amazing Christmas decor pictures. If you would like to send in pictures, here’s the form to fill out for submissions for the book.

5. It was an amazing week on the blog. We talked about some of my favorite fall stems and I shared a simple fall craft and my mother-in-law’s amazing snickerdoodle recipe and my makeover in a month before and after living room.

LOLOLOL Oh, you don't know how hard I laughed! Broccoli and chocolate! A friend and I have had a years-long running gag about broccoli and chocolate. I can't even remember when or how it started. You HAVE to watch this video of my friend eating broccoli dipped in chocolate. It's too funny. It may even change your mind! And you know I love your Saturday posts! 😁 ❤ https://www.facebook.com/sandra.h.king.9/videos/1333324781424/

Love all the fall ideas even though it's well over 100 degrees where I live, so not thinking about another season just yet. I made the snickerdoodles and they are the best! I had just enough cream of tartar. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Take care and bless you.

Happy 250th bday Thistlekeeping! You are wonderful and much enjoyed! Can't wait to see what the next 250 Saturdays hold! Hmmm, well, chocolate does cover all. It just might be worth a try. I put spinach in my smoothie and broccoli is kind of like spinach. 😉 Every year I have wanted to try the bleached pinecones!!! This is the year since I have a lot of bleach on hand!! I can't wait to get back to the Christmas Craft group and see what you all have been creating!! Sadly, I have been locked out of Facebook!!!😕 I forgot my password, then reset a new one, send all the documents in to prove I am who I am, and they still haven't let me in!!🤔😖 Hopefully, that will happen soon! Frustrating!!!😩

Fun fact: Back in the 90's, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen recorded at least one album. My sister and I would listen to the cassette tape on repeat, and one song was about the beautiful combination of chocolate and broccoli. (I can't say I've ever tried it, but clearly they were on to something if your husband found it so delicious!) Here's a YouTube link to the song, if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxyhNnDvZjc&ab_channel=Mary-Kate%26AshleyMusic 🤣

First of all, congrats on 250 editions of Thistlekeeping! And, thank you for your MIL’s snickerdoodle recipe, now printed and in first place on my cookbook stand! I too used to watch The Novogratz show and somehow lost track of them. I remember when they did skateboarder Tony Hawk’s house in Big Bear or Mammoth ... for whatever reason that episode stuck with me. I’m laughing (crying) over the pandemic scale debacle. No new scale over here but the old one is no longer my friend. Time to get back to my pre-pandemic eating and exercise regimen... just as soon as I try those snickerdoodles. xo
