Random thoughts on a Saturday morning sprinkled with sunshine:

1. There’s an amazing senior tradition at our high school. They get their very own parking place and they get to paint it. The twins are working on painting the cutest parking spot right now that is a “playlist” of their senior year. It was looking so cute and everything was going so amazing.

Until.

Until last night at 10:47 when they spilled HALF of a paint can of light blue enamel paint all over the floorboard of their car.

Enamel paint.

Carpet.

Never a good mix.

We got most of it up, but let’s just say that their car will be feeling “blue” for a long time.

2. We are organizing closets today. I’m not sure why organizing makes me so happy, but it does. Have you ever used velvet hangers before? I found an entire package of 50 velvet hangers for $14.99 at Walmart.

3. If you want a fun idea to cover your porch swing chains like I did in the first photo? You can see that DIY here.

4. It was an amazing week on the blog. I shared 21 fall home decor finds and a centerpiece that takes five minutes to put together and lasts for six weeks. We also discussed faux finishes and 21 coffee table decorating ideas.

WHEW.

It’s been a great week and it’s going to be an even more amazing weekend.

Here are all my fun finds from around the internet this week.

I sense that the Blue Paint Escapade will live on in infamy. As usual, enjoyed your lineup. I've used Shutterfly for a few years now and periodically order a puzzle from them--they make nice gifts and it's a great way to remember a special moment from a vacation. Plus, they periodically offer them free if you are a member (you have to pay shipping). I'm intrigued by the idea of bleaching wood. I can go down a rabbit hole looking at all the prettiness on myscandinavianhome.com--love love love.

Your Thistlekeeping posts are such welcome distractions from the daily news of pandemic and politics. You are a joy!

Love the budget kitchen makeover. I’m getting ready to make some cosmetic changes to my kitchen. It has beautiful oak cabinets, Santa Cecilia granite Countertops and hardwood floors. I want to paint it the blue you have in your dining room. The room is very open and there isn’t a ton of wall space. I think it will really change it up. Right now I have a mustardy/Tuscan yellow that I’ve had for a while. So I need a change. New light fixtures are needed too. We ordered new chairs for our breakfast table but I may want a new table too. LOL and you know how one thing leads to another I’m ready for a change in my family room right off the kitchen. It is currently a chili orange. I’m thinking something more neutral with an accent fireplace wall. I love your Saturday posts because it really gets my creative juices flowing!!

They won't forget this senior year! And why is it that we get so excited about 50 hangers for 20 bucks? I'm just like that too! Have fun cleaning closets. It brings such a sense of accomplishment!

Well thank you sooo much for the feature, Karianne! I bought velvet hangers but they are too big for some of my clothes' shoulders... so they belong to my husband. I have to settle for ordinary plastic ones. Have a great week ahead! Liberty

Ha ha, love the paint story. When My son and a friend were seniors they wanted to make some extra money so my husband hired them to paint a small floor in a room at the bottom of a stairway in an office building. When he went to check on them they had painted themselves into a corner. They were standing there looking sheepish. :) :)

KariAnne! Oh my gosh, your Saturday roundup solved a big dilemma for me. When I clicked onto Edible Gardens ... I had no idea. We just added raised beds to our newly renovated yard ... I'm a novice gardener and the beds aren't in the most idea location. I've even looking for a place to get some advice on how to tackle this new addition to our home ... and it turns out that Pine House Edible Garden not only does consultations ... BUT ... is located 15 minutes from me! I love you!!! In other news, what a joy to discover the Park & Oak blog and Instagram. And, I got a good giggle over your daughters car mishap. Looks like they've have a little something to remember their senior year by each time they get into their car! Hope you had a great weekend. Did I already say, thank you?!
