Random thoughts on a sunny almost-school-starting Saturday morning:
1. You never know how much you appreciate your back.
My husband threw his out late Wednesday evening. We thought he broke something and I took him to the emergency room and after hours of x-rays and checking and poking and prodding they discovered that there was nothing wrong.
Except.
Except he has a bad back.
He’s slowly recovering with tons of help from my children and kolaches from Waco and good podcasts and these tens units things my father-in-law (who also has a bad back) gave him to use.
2. In almost Christmas news, I put together an amazing Christmas craft group over on Facebook. I have over 30 crafters scheduled to go live starting in September.
And the best part? It’s FREE.
I’d love to have you join us for the Christmascraftalooza. You can request an invite here.
3. It was a fun week on the blog. We talked about these amazing pillow DIYs and I showed you our before and after backyard.
4. I have the CUTEST fall DIY and a project where I’m making a room over in a month coming up on the blog.
Stay tuned.
And now?
Let’s see all the fun things I found from around the web just for us.
This amazing vintage candle holder.

Fun as always! The Hobby Lobby tips are so good, and really her blog overall! I always enjoy your Saturday post! Have a great weekend! Prayers for a quick recovery for your hubby! My husband had a bad back experience about 15 years ago, regular chiropractic care has kept him in line...ha! I remember it clearly though...he was so miserable.
What a fabulous assortment of ideas! It is like a box of chocolates- everyone of them is tasty! Your weekly wrap up is so wonderful. Hope your husband’s back is better. It takes a while and the tens units do too.
I just love Saturday mornings. Because of you.
My husband and I both suffered from intermittent back pain that interfered with our ability to do the activities we normally do. The medical community was of no help. We took matters into our own hands about bought about 10 books on back pain and how to resolve it. We found the book Foundation by Eric Goodman and Peter Park extremely helpful. There are yoga type exercises. We both did the exercises a few times a weeks until we were free of back pain. Now we do them once a week as maintenance. Another helpful book is The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Clair Davies and Amber Davies. Check out piriformis syndrome ant the therapy recommended for it. This too helped me tremendously. Who would have thought a muscle in the buttocks could cause such back pain. It was one of my problems. Good luck the your husband on resolving his back pain.
Hope the man of your dreams is on the mend. Please let this Florida girl know - what is a kolache? Can’t wait to see the Christmas site up and running.
A kolache is a Czech (I believe) dessert that is basically a homemade danish..... a pastry with jelly on top.... : ) Liberty
I love the vintage candle holder. I would like to make it, but it takes me to the wrong website. I open your blog every day along with Miss Mustardseed's. You are two of my favorites.
Is there any way to take part in the Christmas Craft Group if you're not on Facebook?
I just said a little prayer for Denny.
Fun stuff here!!! So excited to join the Christmas FB group👏🎅🏻🎄 Also, the HL secrets are good to know 👍
I'm ordering some NMN as soon as my S.S. payment hits the bank next week and I'll see you at 122! I've also made myself a sign for my refrigerator to "Just quit eating so ______ much! I had stopped eating cheese about three weeks ago and have lost five pounds without doing anything else so have a head start. I absolutely loved, loved, loved the bee hive tablescape, but see no way to sign up for regular blog posts from Home with Holly. Always enjoy your Saturday blog posts. Thanks!
KariAnne, thanks for another great Saturday morning post! I always enjoy these! I looked at your 2019 Fall Home Tour again and enjoyed it as much the second time. So sorry to hear that your dear hubby has put his back out. We will keep him in our prayers and ask God for healing. Enjoy your weekend. Again, thanks for always bringing us some wonderful posts! You are "the best"!
So sorry to hear about your husband. What a week to have that happen. It must have been a crazy, busy week for you!!
Your husband has my utter, complete sympathy, back problems are the worse. I hope he soon gets better and can manage to get over the terror of it going again. Take care and thanks for a great post and lots of wonderful links.xx
You really outdid yourself this week on Thistlekeeping, so many fun, beautiful things to think about. My white wicker furniture will be SW Iron Ore very soon. So that first picture with the pumpkins, what a tease! Can we please see the rest? I love it! And Joanna's fall line, oh my! Then top that off with Holy Water by We The Kingdom, currently my favorite. Thank you! I hope your week is good.
Thank you, that was so fun, i feel for your husband, i pinched a nerve in my back several years ago, i found a new respect for my back and actions you can't perform. Praying for swift recovery. I now know better how to shop at HL. Have a great week.
So sorry to hear about the back problem. I have a herniated disc that has caused me a lot of pain and restrictions over the years so I have very deep sympathies. The good news is that almost all back problems kinda come and go so I'm sending good thoughts that your husband feels better soon.
I have often thought the cutest theme for a baby shower would be "What will it bee?" And that beehive themed party is just adorable!!! xoxo
Thank you for the praise songs!
I love that you added worship songs this week!! This is such a happy page. I put on my red lipstick and look forward to this post every week!!
Love your Saturday round up friend! Thanks for sharing your home with us too, lovely tour. Happy weekend and sending hugs.
