Random thoughts on a hot summer Saturday morning:

1. Y’all. It’s HOT here. It was 99 degrees yesterday and it’s going to be hotter today. I’ve lived here my whole life and I always forget how HOT it is in Texas.

And then?

Summer shows up.

2. I went to my first yard sale of the season yesterday. I have never been so happy in my whole life. I got blue and white dishes (that I’m using for a fun table this week) and these vintage menu holders and a silverware basket.

3. We are about half-way through the fence in the back yard. I think we are going to add string lights and the prettiest outdoor furniture that I’m painting.

4. Do any of you order from Stitch Fix? I’ve been ordering for about six months now and I LOVE IT. I think the key is finding a really good stylist. I went through a bunch of different stylists and now I found the best of the best of the best. I just got these amazing jeans that are petite and they pull on instead of buttoning—so basically they look like jeans and feel like sweat pants.

5. We are about to go get some ferns from one of my favorite people on the planet, my friend Mary Ann. She has extra ferns in her garden and she’s sharing.

6. This week on the blog we talked about DIY wall treatments and I showed you how to make an obelisk out of embroidery hoops and how to update a kitchen on a budget and discussed why I love payphones.

And now?

Let’s see all the fun stuff I found from around the internet.

This beautiful kitchen.

There are tons of summer styling ideas in this space.

You can see them here.

This beautiful summer mantel.

I love the textures of the flowers together.

Love this idea to add art to your TV.

It’s a great way to make the TV disappear.

This hallway before and after

How to paint tile to look like slate

And I just watched this video from Joanna Gaines.

It’s about baking a cake, but scroll to the very end to see the most amazing thing.

And one more for the road.

Are the stitch fix jeans stretchy? I am looking for some stretchy pull on jeans. Where are you putting the ferns? Have you tried the air fried dill pickles? Love the end of Joanna's video-so adorable! Thanks for all the project ideas! Have a super weekend!

That colt!❤️❤️❤️ Also, off topic but I thought of you as soon as I started watching it...Belgravia on Epix! Written by Julian Fellowes if Downton Abbey. Another upstairs/downstairs sage. So good. Bought the free one week Epix membership on Prime Video just to watch Laurel Canyon since I love 60’s music and saw this. You and the girls will love it if you haven’t already seen it!

I always love it when you link up My Scandinavian Home. I think a little part of me wants a European flair when I decorate. The wallpaper was amazing (as was the wallpaper in the hallway before and after). So, the nicest thing about pull-on jeans is that they are nice and flat across the tummy, which makes your tops look nicer. Well, that and the fact that they are pull-on. Hmm. I seem to be turning into my mother.

It's super hot here in Kansas too! Wheat harvest will soon be upon us. Your blue-and-white dishes find sound super fun and amazing! I've never tried Stitch Fix, but I have been tempted. I've literally heard about it for YEARS now. Haha! I remember when a bunch of blogs I read first started using it and sharing it as affiliates. I love ferns! They're so lacey and graceful and beautiful. I planted a little one in my backyard last week. Happy, happy weekend to you, KariAnne!

I always look forward to the Saturday post, but I have to have some quiet time and a cup of coffee or cold drink to go with the whole experience. Today's post was extra special...I love that you have posted ideas from so many new bloggers and I look forward to examining several of them in more detail. What a great way to spend a few hours on a lazy day. Thanks Karianne for always giving me something to smile about. PS- Extra wow from that Scandi home tour and the fabulous kitchen and wallpaper!

Don’t look too close at the pics from my 100 year old home’s kitchen. It really needs a good cleaning. Food spills are running down the side of the cabinet next to the stove, fingerprints around all the cabinet and drawer handles. I have a 16 year old all-white kitchen, if you cook you have to wipe down everything about once a week!

Please tell me the wall paint color in the kitchen. It appears a shade of green. I adore the combination of greens and creams in my home. Also can you tell me where the rug runner at the sink came from. I truly like your style KariAnn. Thanks for sharing with us.
