Random thoughts on a Saturday morning:
1. This morning my husband and his father are going to the dump. I have never seen someone so excited about loading up a trailer of nonsense and driving it across town to a stinky place.
2. Last night we went to see the movie, Run the Race. It is AMAZING. Seriously. It has such smart writing and the film takes place in a small town with an incredible cast. I laughed and cried and was surprised at the twists and turns of the plot. I cannot recommend it enough.
3. We are working on a project this weekend. Fingers crossed it works out how I imagine it. We are taking wood bookcases and placing them against a shiplap wall and making them built in. If it turns out super cute, I will share it with all of you.
4. This was a fun week on the blog. We created a simple centerpiece for a party and cleaned acorns out of my mother’s flower beds and discussed the right paint finish for any space and all talked about our favorite exterior home style. Oh, and Whitney’s room is almost done.
5. And in other exciting news:
Westerbess (otherwise known as Westleigh) made varsity cheerleader yesterday.
We went to a watch party to find out if she made it and when she and her friend found out they screamed and ordered cookie cake with ice cream. And then? She spent the evening walking around like she had wings.
Here’s to a year of jumps and football and yelling really loudly.
And now?
Let’s see what the internet has been up to this week.
I was so excited when I saw this project because I have the same basket.
You can see my basket on this post here.
What a simple update to make it look a little fresher.

I thought this was such a clever idea for a kitchen backsplash.
It’s a grouping of blue and white plates.
You can see the rest of the kitchen here.
And this.
This kitchen island.
Here are all the details on the piece and its story.
And this is such a fun idea.

Congratulations to Westleigh! So very happy for her....such a fun, busy, memorial time ahead for her and you!
Congratulations and thanks for letting us know. My fingers were. Tossed all week.
Should say “crossed all week.”
Congratulations to Westleigh! What a GREAT and AWESOME time for her, and for you! Treasure the memories!
Westerbess ... love the name ... and congrats to her! And thank you, KariAnne, for the eye candy on a Saturday morning. Such pretty decorating ideas!
Thanks so much for the feature. Love ya!!!
Congratulations Westleigh!! And we CAN'T WAIT (!!!!!) to see Whitney's bedroom reveal!!! We had started my 14yo daughter's bedroom Redo right before your post on Whitney's bedroom and we've painted and gotten a new bed and desk...but other than that it's been ON HOLD as we wait to see what you and Whitney have done! She sounds so much like my daughter, Leianna...and they have very similar taste...soooo...bring on the Reveal!! :-) Seriously, can't wait to see it...hahahaa!!!
Oh my goodness, congratulations Westleigh!! I am so excited for you! 🎉🎉🎉
I can relate...my husband’s ultimate dream would to own a big junkyard in the country and a dump just down the road.
Congratulations Westleigh!!!!!! Thanks again for the weekly summary- love all the ideas! So amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What to do first????????????????????????????
We went to the dump last Saturday - it was not too bad. Our trash people are not good about picking up large items so we took several off and stopped at the hazmat drop-off while we were on the trip. Will look forward to seeing what the room looks like and congrats to the new varsity cheerleader. Our family is on the 3rd generation of cheerleaders now.
Congratulations to Westleigh!! I was a cheerleader in high school and I remember waiting for the tryout results! Good for her! Thank you for sharing my china storage idea. As a result a few of your wonderful followers have subscribed to Life at Bella Terra!
And thank you for the recommendation on Run the Race! We're going to see it tomorrow!! <3
Thank you for all your Saturday inspirations! 😊 Congratulations to your daughter for making varsity cheerleading!! Happy Saturday! 🥰
Congratulations Westleigh! So exciting!!
I enjoyed every thistle bit but the blatant condescension of Maria Killam's post. I think her last name is aptly fitting, haha. I am just so surprised at her strong verbage - oh well, it happens, no need for it, but it happens. Hope you've had a wonderful week. Grats on the varsity win - today my nieces won State Championship in non-tumble division. Next week is downtown and it is the tumble team. Cheerleading has been my entire day, and my sister's entire world, haha. ♥♥♥ Hugs. : - )
I agree, Run the Race is an awesome movie and yes, I laughed and cried too. Several of the actors are familiar faces in Hallmark movies. Congratulations Westleigh making varsity cheerleading.
Congrats to Westleigh making the cheer squad! I was cheer coach 4 years while our sons played football/basketball. I loved all the girls I coached and it is such fun now watching them through FB and instagram being wives and mothers and cheer moms for their own kids. I pray Westleigh will have a cheer coach that will love her like I loved my girls. I need to searcnd find the cheer mom/cheer coach bag I had during those years that I just can't part with. It's a memory keeper.
So happy for Westleigh! We prayed that she would do well! Just know how happy you and your dear hubby are for your girl!
That blue and white backsplash! Be still my heart!
#1 makes me smile. Every man in my family too! I read it to my husband and he said, “ She doesn’t know me and my grandpa.” His favorite childhood memory is going to the dump with his grandpa in a 1950s Buick. (Without seatbelts!) Can’t wait to get your book!
