Random thoughts on a cold Saturday morning:
1. I went to my high school reunion last night. Have you ever been to your high school reunion? If you have, you will understand the FOUR HOURS I spent trying to find the one outfit in my closet that made me look the skinniest and trying to find the perfect red lipstick.
And making sure it wasn’t on my teeth.
2. Has anyone ever used Facebook marketplace before? I have furniture that I need to sell and it’s too cold to have a yard sale.
3. If you are a blogger, are you planning on going to Haven this year? Please come sit by me. I want to plan another meet-up for the book.
4. This was a good week on the blog. We talked about when your love lasts through the french fries and decorating with lanterns and art ideas for your walls and how to make almost anything look like metal.
5. I think I need to make a trip down to Magnolia this year.
Have you seen the new spring decor? The tree going through the middle of the table? The giant grouping of bee hives? The wall of planters?
WAIT?
Maybe we should schedule a meet-up there, too?
Let me know if you are in the area and could come and shop with me!
And now?
Let’s see what the internet has been up to this week.
This post is a great reminder about sparking joy.
And NOT overthinking.

Oh my....shopping at Magnolia together!!! The thought of how much fun that would be is going to get me thru another cold, snowy day here is Kansas!!
I would LOVE to go to Haven this year. It typically falls on the same time as our traditional 2 weeks at the beach, but I'll double check the dates. And I would be very interested in a meet-up at Magnolia! Also, THANK YOU for featuring my organizational tip for storing dinnerware/china. It has been so helpful for me and I hope your readers find it useful too. Happy Saturday!
Good morning from icy Michigan! You might need to sell some furniture to get all the cool new things at Magnolia! If you wanted to do sales by mail, I’m here! Love the idea of meeting up and shopping with you. Come to the Midwest, please!!
I vote for a Michigan trip, too! :) And KariAnne, your bathroom makeover for your in-laws is aMAZing! I want to move in there. It's not too creepy to have a stranger in your bathroom, is it???
Great post! So much inspiration for the long weekend and rainy days! I even think I want to use a bleach jug and some rope to make a bee hive like they show at Magnolia! Wish I could come and shop with you, but I'm in CA. Loved my trip there when I move my son into TCU. I'd love to see a fun blog post if you go.
I have had good luck selling things on FB Marketplace! Give it a try, it’s so easy!
Thanks for the weekly summary!!!!!!!!!!so many ideas to think about!!!!!!!!!!!Yes, have gone to several high school reunions- and yes get the finding of the perfect dress and lipstick issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My twinkling blue eyed guy had so much fun dancing with the high school crowd- no he had never met them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep, I've used FB Marketplace several times but I found that people want it for pennies so if you are willing to practically give it away - it works great. I like that you can put the item on the porch, they come get it and leave the money under the mat. :) Yep #2, I'm going to Haven and can hardly wait! Yep #3. I'm always up for a trip to Magnolia. Let's hit the road girl!
I hope to make it again this year. I learned so much last year and met so many amazing people.
Totally read your one sentence wrong and thought you were asking which bloggers wanted to go to Heaven this year. I'm not sure I've ever done a double take so fast! Love your Thistlekeeping posts!
Try Craigslist too. We have great luck selling furniture and even small items on Craigslist.
Hi Karianne, Yep, went to my high school 25th reuinion. Never again! The people there were still stuck in the 60's. The cheerleaders were still chirpy, the hoods were still putting grease in their hair and the clicks were still alive and well. It was miserable!! I HAVE used FB Marketplace. It is a good tool... Give it a try. It's like Craigslist tho. People call you / text you and never show up... but can't hurt... and it's FREE. Go for it, pretty lady.
I've used FB market place, but my experience was different than Cindy. I've sold several pieces of furniture the same day I posted them. They were picked up within a day or two and I got exactly what I was asking with no haggling.
I live in Nashville and I bought furniture off of FB Marketplace three times in the last week! (I move a week ago and had nothing but a bed!) They were all excellent experiences and I love all three peices!
OHHH, I’d love to shop with you at Magnolia. I watched the video on her blog the other day about how they put that tree together with almost 1500 blossoms. The weather has been so bad here in Chicagoland that I need a break. And will you please come and do my master bath? Teehee. It’s in need of an up date. Nothing drastic, but new tile is a definite! We’re supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow before its over Tuesday morning. How many days until spring?? Thanks for bringing a little sunshine my way today, I love your Saturday review!!!!!!!
A shopping trip to Magnolia with you would be fabulous! I would love to check out the warehouse location they have too!
I have had great luck on fb marketplace. I have listed everything from toddler bed to cardboard cupcake stands and they have all sold. I want to meet up with you and shop, unfortunately I live nowhere near Texas.
Just wondering Karianne if you go to the big Round Top Antique Fair? I went about 5 years ago as it was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint....HUGE! I even spotted Joanna Gaines there. The only negative is that it was so blazing hot and I said then if I ever go again I will go to the Spring show not the Fall show in September. Yes, FB Marketplace is very popular in our area and actually I think many people are using it more than Craigslist now.
FB Marketplace is getting me in a little bit of trouble - ‘cause I keep buying “littles”! Got a nearly full set of the English transfer ware collection named “Sharon” for just $10 that matches the mini creamer and sugar I inherited and just this week bought red boopieware dessert cups - again for just $10! Like Craigslist, meet in a neutral location or have a husky fella (or a husky dog) with you.
Could you tell me the color of the blue on the ladder back chairs in the top picture? Thanking you in advance.
Your in-laws’ bathroom is gorgeous. I know they are so proud and happy to have you in the family.
I’ve had really good results using Facebook Marketplace. It seems easier to use than Crag’s list and it doesn’t cost anything to try!
Such great links! The cabins are so amazing! I would love to stay in one of those! I wish Haven wasn't so far away, but maybe someday!
KariAnne, that bathroom remodel is stunning! Well done!
I wanted to let you know that your love story - the one about the french fires was so very lovely that I sent the email to my husband as your story outlined our love story too. He agreed...sigh...
Oh KariAnne!! Those cabins and the bath reno for your in-laws fill me with joy...along with everything else!!! xoxoxo
