Random thoughts on an after Christmas morning:

1.  I saw the best meme on Facebook this week.  There are two stick figures.

The stick figure on the right has a Santa hat and the caption reads:  Me–December 1-24–Merry.

The stick figure on the left has a confused expression and a downcast look and the caption reads:  Me—December 26-31–Confused what day it is and full of cheese.

Truer words were never spoken.

2.  I’m spending today taking down a few of the Christmas decorations.  The post on Monday is all about getting organized after Christmas and turning your Christmas decor into winter.

3.  This happened this week and I’m so honored to be included on the list.

4.  This week I posted my favorite posts from 2018 and my favorite projects from 2018 and someone left the best comment:

“…this is the year I want to seriously take back my home from all the stuff.”

Can I get an amen?

I just made that my New Year’s Resolution.

Let’s unstuff ourselves together.

I’m so all about my friend Lucy and her winterscape.

She shows you how to paint this on a video here.

And she’s giving one away here.

I’ve posted these before, but if you are writing thank you notes?

This is the perfect way to make them extra special.

See the details here.

Looking for a fun craft to make this week for winter?

What about a DIY pom pom wreath?

This would look super cute in white, too.

Here are the instructions for the wreath.

If you are like me and taking down Christmas decorations this week this is the post for you.

She gives detailed instructions on how she keeps her house clean in 30 minutes a day.

See the cleaning routine here.

Did I miss your post on what you made your family and what your siblings made you for gifts this year?its always one of my favorite posts. Perhaps I’m just jumping the gun...or perhaps you haven’t had your get together yet. Just love seeing what your brother comes up with.

You always bring me up if I’m having a bad day. I’m resolving to bring and give more beauty in my life. From pretty note pads, homegrown flowers, and being a better human being.

It is so fun to decorate for the holidays...but I am one who likes to pack it all away (lovingly) and get my house back to "normal." I love every decoration...but it does feel a bit cluttered when they are up. This year I really got organized and put all the decorations for each area in labeled bins. And, donated or took to the local resale shop alllll the Christmas items I have not used in years, along with clothes and other random "stuff" (good bye beautiful new boots that were beautiful but not comfortable). It feels so good!! More importantly...I am watching my last Hallmark Christmas movie...'til next year!

Years ago, I Googled "best home design blogs" and found you! Congratulations on the well-deserved recognition!! And, that watercolor tutorial is amazing!!! Wishing you health, love and peace in the new year. xoxoxo Peg

Well, for the number 3 link above, where you are included in a list of home decor bloggers, you don’t seem to have much competition. For example, The link to savvy home blog is over a year old and the author of the article didn’t seem to notice it. Anyway, you always have interesting blog posts and it can’t be easy to be constantly entertaining your readers.

From the article on writing: "4. Avoid “got.” This, from my writing teacher in university, who was known to issue an automatic F if you turned in any paper containing the word “got.” There is always a more suitable replacement, he’d said." AMEN, SISTER!! I've told my kids this for years... THE HABIT? I'm starting today; before my resolutions!! And, OF COURSE you are listed as one of the best blogs - we are all here for a reason!!
