Random thoughts on a football weekend:

1. I apologize for being late today with this post.  I was yard saling.  I know.  That sounds familiar.

2. I am all about black jeans this season.  I’ve decided they are the perfect pant to send you through to Thanksgiving.

(total aside:  I know this isn’t a fashion blog—but have you checked out Loft lately?  SERIOUSLY.  Cutest season ever.)

3. Tomorrow is about football.  Tomorrow is about all things Poldark.  I actually forgot about the new season starting.  I’m getting ready for Round Top and totally forgot until a reader reminded me.

4. And this week on the blog?  Just in case you missed it?  We looked at life through wrapping paper and found things at yard sales and make this adorable fall craft in 47 seconds.

5.  I also read this article this week which made me a little sad.  I mean I get it.  I understand.  Hallmark isn’t for everyone.  But to me—when life gets tough or I’m overwhelmed or I’m stressed—there’s nothing that makes me happier than two of my favorite things in one sentence.

Hallmark and Christmas.

Good thing.

Because the Hallmark season preview is tonight.

Are you ready?

Oh, good.

Me, too. 🙂

This post won my heart this week.

Mostly because I can be a little indecisive sometimes, too.

You go girl.

Read all about the room here.

This is such a simple project.

I’m filing it under “I wish I had thought of it.”

See the DIY here.

This is one of my favorite new paint colors.

It’s SW Peppercorn.

I’ve used it on furniture before, but I love how it looks in this dining room.

I found another blue and white pumpkin tutorial for us.

This one is super easy.

Wow..... I just read that Hallmark article that you referenced.... I felt the way you did.... I understand her point but I actually love being transported to Candy Cane Lane! I love to escape for a few hours into the fairy tale land of Christmas and romance! Is that so wrong???? 😂🎅🏻🎄 ( and I am currently watching Hallmark while I sew ... 😂👍🏻 Long live romance!)

This exactly! I love to watch them snuggled up under a blanket for pure entertainment that I don’t have to think about, just enjoy a cute movie. “Sarah, Plain and Tall” and “The Magic of Ordinary Days” (which I love) are Hallmark Hall of Fame movies which I would imagine are much more involved and I’m sure take much more time to produce than the flurry of Christmas movies they put out each season.

I stopped watching the Hallmark movies some time ago because I knew the ending shortly after the beginning. I suppose they serve a very useful purpose for some because The TV lineup is so stressful along with daily life but would love to have a little more depth to them.

I've been enjoying Miss Mustard Seed's European tour immensely. I would recommend readers go to her website and catch up on all of it! The Hallmark movies aren't really my thing--too predictable for my taste--but if it lightens your mood, then go for it! In similar news, did you know they are making a Downton Abbey movie using actors from the show?? Now that's the kind of programming that I enjoy! (and yes, I'm waiting for Poldark tomorrow, too!).

Well Miss Karianne...I’m all about Hallmark movies...bring em’ on😍 Too much sad news and not enough quality prime time tv. So what if the ending is predictable...I love the getaway. I’m available for a Hallmark marathon...I’ll bring popcorn and homemade caramels❤️

The only thing I would like a Hallmark to add are a few movies around... stay tuned! I got my own post on this topic! Laura in CO

Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I feel sorry for the person who disagrees with the stories on Hallmark Christmas. Does she not listen to the News or read a newspaper? I love getting away from the horrors and evil world we live in for a nice respite. Watching shows that show our real world is not relaxing. Thanks for letting me spout my opinion.😀 Also, I just received your new book, Karianne, for my birthday. I will enjoy starting my days with God and you now.❤️

Karianne, I have loved reading your blog the last few years. But I have a secret to tell you that hopefully won't make you think less of me- I don't like the Hallmark channel. I know I'm in the minority here, but I could never quite get into it. Many people don't understand (including my mom, mother-in-law and step mother-in-law). Now if we're talking Poldark, I can binge watch a whole season. My husband and I are eagerly anticipating the start of season 4 tonight! But the Hallmark channel, not so much. It should be known, that in an effort to be more frugal, we down-sized our cable package a few years ago and haven't had the Hallmark channel. Again, don't think its a character flaw, but I have been ok with not having it :)

I like relaxing with a Hallmark movie on occasion, but my hubby can't stand 'em. I have save them on the DVR for when he is out of town. Yes, the movies go by a formula, but they're sweet PG-rated romance.

That Texas house tour was wonderful! A curated closet is something I strive for!! And Hallmark movies are my warm fuzzy amidst all the sadness in the world!!! xoxoxo
