Random thoughts on a hot Saturday morning:

1.  I was just thinking how thankful I am for you.  All of this.  All of the blog stuff.  All of the books.  I owe it all to you.

2. In case you missed it—in blog news this week I talked about being so wrong it was right and my list of things to look for at yard sales and a bathroom before and after and how it was so hot I couldn’t even make roman shades.

Nothing but quality content going on around here.

3.  Just when life couldn’t get any better I heard there is going to be a Downton Abbey movie.

4.  We are pulling up the flooring in a tiny room upstairs that leads to our bedroom.  Right now there is peel and stick tile on the floor.  I think there’s about four layers of general flooring and under that?  I think there might be hardwood floor.

Here’s hoping.

I’ve been trying to plan out the backyard and I found this idea.

I love the idea of a simple outdoor dining space like this one.

Details found here.

Found this clever idea to display recipes.

I love those frames and she got them at Target.

Great post on hand-dying fabric.

It gave me a fun idea for a project.

And this porch.

I almost cried when I saw it.

It made me miss the farmhouse so much.

See the rest of this beautiful summer porch here.

And in random news this week:

And just because.

Because I’m missing the farmhouse today.

Let’s take a summer tour from days gone by.

Happy Random Saturday to you.

Love your leaf prints over sofa grouping. Please reference your comments on them so that I can read it again. Are they painted or pressed or whatever? So pretty.

Be careful on how you plan your outdoor spaces. Lots of shade and ceiling fans! My mother lives a couple of hours south of you, And boy does it get hot! I hope when you pull all of the layers of flooring out you find that wood floor and that it is in awesome shape! Stay cool rockstar! Have a great weekend!

There is going to be a Downton Abbey MOVIE?!?!??! OMG OMG OMG! I need to get my mom caught up on the show so I am not the only crazy obsessed person watching it. ;) Thank you so much for sharing my recipe project, KariAnne! Crossing fingers for your flooring project. Hugs, friend!

If it's 114* outside in your part of Texas I would NOT be sitting on the porch sipping sweet tea! lol However, I look forward to seeing hardwood floors under all that sticky tile and linoleum!

KariAnne, it is finally raining here so instead of heading out to the garden at 6 AM, I was able to savor all the goodness of Thistlekeeping while having my coffee. Let's just say I pinned a bunch of ideas. I have now lived in seven different homes and can honestly say that I miss something about each one of them, whether it be friends, gardens, the lake, or the ocean, so I completely understand your missing the farmhouse. Sending best wishes...
