I think fall is making me keep the house cleaner.
I’ve spent the last two weeks picking up pumpkins and dusting and sweeping straw off the floor and rearranging the wool throws and fluffing the pumpkin pillow in the hallway.
Yesterday I lit all the candles and simply sat and smelled. Five minutes later my husband walked through the living room and grinned at me. I paused mid-smell and looked up at him around the pumpkins.
“Why are you grinning?” I asked him.
“I can’t help it,” he replied. “There’s just something about fall. I think the house knows it too.
It’s on its best behavior.”
Happy fall inspiration from our well-behaved farm house. 🙂
I think this is the cutest table idea.
I love it when pumpkins and hydrangeas meet and become best friends.

Happy Random Saturday to you. 🙂
It's Saturday morning and here I am sitting at the computer perusing what ever is available for diversion, and what just pops up but Thistlekeeping! The best of the best for fun and entertainment. I'll need another cup of pumpkin spice coffee and it's off to search through all of these welcome suggestions from my best never-met friend! I don't know how you find time to do all of the researching it must take for this Saturday morning post. It is appreciated so much as I wouldn't know where this computer challenged self would even start. Thank-you and enjoy this first weekend of Fall!
It wouldn't be Saturday - no matter the season - unless I checked in with your Thistlekeeping post. You share so many great ideas ... and as always, your photography makes my day! So much respect!
Your farmhouse mantel link is actually for the caramel cheesecake cookies. :)
Your fall decor and inspiration makes me all warm and fuzzy inside on this crisp fall morning.
KW…Love this post today…Very inspiring and so true about the gorgeous season of Fall…We all seem to have the same love and excitement of this time of year…However, I must zone out tomorrow night from it all to see the much awaited POLDARK….
The harvest centerpiece and the wreath are on my list for this week! SO cute! So is your hubby...best behavior!!! Jane
What a wonderful collection of beautiful, delicious, uplifting, inspiring and humourous delights...thank you for gathering them together all in one place for us, KariAnne! Those caramel cheesecake cookies are sooooo decadent...I need these in my life! Speaking of said cookies, I thought I'd let you know that your link for the simple farmhouse mantel also leads to the caramel cheesecake cookies. Not that I'm complaining, because who would complain about being treated to caramel cheesecake cookies twice? :) I also loved the photos of the "barn" as well as the main house...that barn is unlike any I've seen...it's completely gorgeous...we don't put chickens or horses in there! :) And, oh m'gosh, did I laugh til my belly hurt while taking the fall tour at The Handmade Home...I did not expect it to go quite that way, but that's what made it so hilarious! Thank you for bringing joy to me this Saturday, KariAnne...wishing you and yours a most wonderous weekend!
What to say, what to say, here it is called Autumn not Fall and right now it isn't Autumn but Spring although today it is cool and wet and not feeling like spring at all. Your house always looks nice but then I doubt you would be posting photos of a messy house that looks like a tornado hit it.
I'm new to your little slice of heaven, I'm addicted! Everything is just so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love check ing out your thistlekeeping posts! I was so excited to see that you featured my tobacco baskets! A true, thank you so much!! Have a great week!
Clean? That's one thing fall doesn't inspire me to do. Ah, I wish. I just light a candle and pretend it is. Thank you for including me this weekend, wish I could share some cookies with you!
The farm is oh so beautiful wearing its fall decor!!! : )
Thanks so much sweet friend for giving my simmering potpourri a shout out! xo
