Several months ago….a wonderful friend of mine Cynthia Weber approached me about designing a line of fabric for the gatehouse.

I had to think about it….

….for about 5 seconds. 🙂

(total aside:  Can you even believe I just said line of fabric and gatehouse in the same sentence?)

She read about the colors I wanted to use and the vision I had for the space…..and she understood the need for the perfect fabric.

You see….she’s an interior designer and talented and creative with an incredible eye for design.

And I knew….that I knew….that I knew…..

….the fabric would be amazing.

There were so many patterns and designs to choose from that truly represented the spirit of the gatehouse.

They were fun.

And whimsical.

And full of life.

And looked like they all might wear red lipstick and head out on the town.

So I ordered yards and  yards and yards…..

…..and used it here.

And here.

And here.

And here.

And here.

And here.

The collection is designed through Spoonflower and you can order any of the patterns or designs in wrapping paper or wallpaper, too.

So I ordered this pattern in the paper for the craft room.

Just in case someone I knew needed a reminder. 🙂

Cynthia designed polka dots and thistles and rows and rows of stripes in gray and hot pink and white.

There’s abstract patterns and graphics and numbered stripes and flowers.

You can see the entire collection…..here.

edited to add (from Cynthia):  I have had a few people ask me what base cloth I ordered for the pillow so I thought I would explain a bit about the fabric options. If you are placing an order for fabric through Spoonflower you pick a pattern you like then choose what base cloth to have it printed on. They have quite a few options but for pillows, drapery panels etc. I really like the Linen-Cotton Canvas. That is what the pillow for the giveaway is printed on. It has a lovely hand and is easy to work with. For upholstery applications I choose the Heavy Cotton Twill. I hope that helps and thank you to everyone that has left such kind comments about the fabric line! I am so very happy you like it!

And the best part?

Cynthia took the first yard she ever had printed from Spoonflower and had it made into a pillow.

And we want to give it away to one lucky reader to celebrate the fun and joy of The Gatehouse Collection.……

….from our house to yours.

Homemade stuffing is my fav. I cooked the cornbread yesterday, and have been saving leftover homemade bread for a couple weeks (in the freezer, of course). Yummy!

How gorgeous. My favorite Thanksgiving dish is............. well....... Fruit Salad with homemade Creme Fraiche. Wait, maybe real cornbread stuffing, or maybe pie....... well can I say all of the above?

Hmmm, a favorite side dish? This is almost harder than picking a favorite child. I'd have to say mac and cheese though I really love me some sweet potatoes without those annoying little marshmallows. Who came up with that idea?!?! Happy Thanksgiving to you KariAnne and your family!

  4. Image for Susan Susan

Oh my, I am going to have to say mashed potatoes!! Pretty lame, but we never eat creamed goodness on a daily basis, and those are the best at the table!!! Oh, and if this counts for ANYTHING, I do quilt and can envision this fabric in all sorts of quilts, IT IS AWSOME!!!!!!

  5. Image for Jill Wendt Jill Wendt

My favorite recipe is the one my husband makes for stuffing. His great grandmother made this recipe and he learned how to make it from his Mom. Everyone loves this stuffing!!

  6. Image for Babette Babette

My mom's cornbread dressing as only a true Southern lady can make it and her Sweet Potato Cassarole that has Jack Daniels in it! And the Jack Daniels does not cook off, so you can taste every single delicious drop. It is my kids' favorite dish also! It makes Thanksgiving divine!

  7. Image for Nancy W B Nancy W B

My favorite dish for Thanksgiving is Southern Cornbread Dressing with sweet potato casserole coming in as a close second favorite!

  8. Image for Annaliza R Annaliza R

I just had it for the first time at my son's school Thanksgiving Feast but Squash casserole is my new favorite!

  9. Image for Kim Banta Kim Banta

Internet Corn Casserole! (Look up Corn Casserole on Foodnetwork. Paula Deen, I think.) SO easy and ALWAYS a hit! I would make it after making pot holders out of some fab fabric from your new GATEHOUSE collection! How COOL is this?! So happy you now have a new fabric collection, KariAnn! I LOVE fabric!

  10. Image for Erin Buchanan Erin Buchanan

I make a mushroom corn casserole every year. Unfortunately, there is never any leftover. It's a corny swiss cheese delight!

These colors are so fresh and nice to see out there!! Cynthia is one amazing designer!! The 2 of you make a wonderful team :) ....oh, I was getting so mushy I almost forgot-STUFFING!!! Then pecan pie around 9pm :)

  12. Image for Jeannie Jeannie

It has to be the ham gravy. The only place I've ever eaten the kind of ham gravy my mom made was - well, at my mom's house at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Now, I'm threatened with a full scale revolt by my grown sons and my grandchildren if I even think about leaving it off the menu.

Ah, Miz karianne......you are the Little Engine That Could.....! Honestly, I visualize you chugging along, chanting..... "I think I can, I think I can,....*squeal! I KNEW I COULD, I KNEW I COULD!" And that my dear, qualifies you as Queen of the Rock Stars!! LOL Great job...very karianne-ish, I want some of those fabrics for my stash ;^)

  14. Image for Martha Martha

I can't pick one item, all of the turkey, green bean casserole, mash pot, sweet potatoes, stuffing , home made biscuits, salad all on one big plate just makes me smile

  15. Image for Heather Leggett Heather Leggett

My close friend in high school lost her mom to cancer during my friend's senior year. She made the best green bean casserole (she made the best everything!). Luckily, she taught my friend to cook who in turn taught me. I make her green bean casserole recipe every single year for Thanksgiving!

  16. Image for Deb Deb

I love it all, as I look forward to the day I can eat anything I want without feeling guilty. Well, at least for the moment. But the one thing I do look forward to that I usually don't have any other time, is the pumpkin pie with lots of fresh homemade whipped cream!! Ok, I guess I should feel a bit guilty : ) Love the fabrics! You are so talented girl!!!

  17. Image for Wynona Wynona

My favorite at the Thanksgiving table is my sweet little family. Our family members live so far apart, I hardly notice the food on the table when we are fortunate enough to be together. So Thankful!

  18. Image for Carrie Carrie

Holy guacamole, that's beautiful fabric! Cynthia is so talented, and to see both your powers of design together in one place? Breathtaking. And the rockstar wrapping paper is seriously just perfection.

  19. Image for Christina Thurlow Christina Thurlow

I love when the corn bread dressing, gravy and cranberry sauce all mix together on the same spoon into one perfect bite. That is my favorite. (And my very pregnant self is SOOOOO looking forward to it! Baby better stay put just a few days longer!)

  20. Image for Melanie Melanie

Its gotta be the stuffing!!! No wait... yep, pumpkin pie with whip creme!!! Oh, maybe the cranberry salad!!! Nahhh,,, its the turkey. Or...those homemade sweet rolls!!! Truthfully? I love it all, don't you???? :)

  21. Image for Jill Jill

I absolutely love stuffing and mashed potatoes! And the day after, I use leftover rolls and make mashed potato/stuffing/turkey sandwiches. so delightful!

  22. Image for Cheryl B Cheryl B

The stuffing! My dad used to make an absolutely delicious stuffing with sausage, apples, and onions mixed in with the bread and the sage and all that good stuff. I miss him and his stuffing.

  23. Image for Scribbler Scribbler

Congratulations my girl! I am so impressed with all that you have accomplished in a couple of short years. I really love that thistle design fabric. In fact, I may want to use several of these for some summer slipcovers next year. I will come back and look when we get over the holidays! Happy TGV to you and yours.

  24. Image for Susan Susan

Cranberries are my favorite--I make a whole berry sauce and a cran/apple/orange relish! I may even do a pie this year with cranberries. Love the fabric; it's fabulous! XOXO

  25. Image for Paige Gonzalez Paige Gonzalez

My Favorite is German Cherry Cheesecake. It is my Mother's recipe and it is baked in a springform pan. It has a different sort of crust than an traditional cheesecake and is light and fluffy. Don't get me wrong it is still rich! It reminds me of my Mom and the days I enjoyed as a child. Oh how I love it!!!! I may have to make two… :)

  26. Image for Kelly Dane Kelly Dane

My favorite Thanksgiving dish is stuffing, and I mean stuffing. I know it isn't PC to stuff the bird anymore but I love the soft silky texture of the stuffing cooked inside the cavity of the bird. I also think it's loaded with more flavor since it is basted by the juices inside the bird. YUMMY!

  27. Image for Teresa Teresa

I love all the fixin's but pumpkin pie smothered with whipped cream is what I LOVE! This post was a delight to my eyes Karianne! So colorful and happy!

My favorite Thanksgiving dish is the Sweet Potato Casserole with home made hot rolls. It's even better the next day when I make a Casserole Sandwich on the hot roll. YUMMY!!!!

  30. Image for Lisa R Lisa R

Cornbread dressing, of course!! Thanks for the post - I am in the middle of remodeling to gain a craft studio, and some of these fabrics would be just perfect!

  31. Image for Deborah Wilkins Deborah Wilkins

My favorite dish at Thanksgiving is the cranberry sherbet recipe I make that has been handed down for generations in my family. It is so fresh and crisp and tasty! Mmmmmmm! Good!

  32. Image for lesley lesley

we don't really do thanksgiving because it is just my husband and i with no family in our state, so i guess i would say my grandmother's pecan pie - though it has been many years since i was able to have it

  33. Image for Sharon Sharon

I love the collection and how well Cynthia captured the essence that is YOU. All of the patterns and colors work so well together and give The Gatehouse so much personality. My favorite Thanksgiving dish is my Mom's (not just anyone's) cornbread dressing.

  34. Image for Christine Christine

  35. Image for Kathy R. Kathy R.

The dressing/stuffing is my favorite dish. (I can't believe how many others have the same favorite as I have.) I also love pumpkin pie with a layer of cheesecake.

  36. Image for Hannah Hannah

The stuffing! Take everything else off the table and I'd still be happy! I love your decorating style and will copy it fully when I move away from the SW to where there is grass and green trees and a small cottage I can go to town on! Keep up the blog - it makes my day.

  37. Image for Rose L Rose L

I adore your little crafting room and the beautiful black and white fabrics are amazing! I'm making a note to collect some of them for a black and white quilt I want to make one day. As for Thanksgiving food....it would have to be the stuffing with gravy and a large side of black olives. Yumm...I could easily eat that everyday if bread wasn't so bad for me! So I splurge once a year!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your beautiful family!

  38. Image for Cindy Eikenberg Cindy Eikenberg

I absolutely love Cynthia's fabrics! So gorgeous! My favorite Thanksgiving dish is candied sweet potatoes - I only have them once a year and look forward to them so much! Thank you for the lovely giveaway and happy Thanksgiving!

  40. Image for Dawna Dawna

  45. Image for Jennifer Jennifer

Ahhh ... my favorite Thanksgiving dish is a traditional roasted turkey stuffed with fresh veggies & herbs basted in white wine and chicken broth. Yes, It is divine!

  46. Image for Cyndy Cyndy

spicy stuffing of course...or is it the mashed potatoes & gravy? or the candied yams? or maybe homemade cranberry sauce (vegies are for color only with a brown brown table of food) or is it the dessert you have absolutely no room for as you stuff your face then bloat, gag, so uncomfortable your as fat as a turkey

  47. Image for Carlee C. Carlee C.

I have never been a big fan of turkey, but heap me up a plate of stuffing and broccoli and rice casserole, and I am a happy girl. Such fun patterns!

Chicken & dressing would be my hands down favorite. This giveaway is perfect!!! We get to celebrate your fabric and add to our stash!!!! I'm a quilter therefore I'm a fabric addict. It just so happens I decided to do my Christmas tree in pink and grey last year. These aren't such easy colors to find so I ended up making most of the ornaments for my tree. But now..... I can buy fabric to match!!!!! Thank you!!!
