Looking for the best side table? Here’s one of my favorites that I have used all over my home. It’s versatile, portable, and sturdy.

// blue and white rug // gold coffee table // blue and white striped chairs // loveseats //

I never met a design challenge I didn’t like.

Ever.

When I was first married we lived in student housing with brick walls that we weren’t allowed to nail anything into.  Walls and walls and walls of brick without a single place to hang a picture.  Some people might have shrugged at those walls.  Some people might have thrown up their hands and rolled their eyes and resigned themselves to being pictureless.

Me?

I stood up and took brick wall names and reach for a pencil.  The space between the brick was the perfect size to hold a pencil.  I’d cram in pencils and then nail nails into the pencil and hang up pictures.

Necessity is the mother of design invention.

Like in this room.

I needed a super-cute-easy-to-move-flexible-one-of-a-kind solution to the challenge of where to put extra drinks and snacks when you watch television.

Or have a party.

Or have guests over for hot chocolate and snickerdoodles.

And I found the perfect solution.

A design invention superhero that looks like this (and it’s under $50).

// white side table // blue and white striped chair  // blue and white rug //

This table.

Isn’t it cute?

It’s super-lightweight and sturdy and easy to move and it reminds me of a beauty pageant version of a television tray.

And it’s UNDER $50!!!!!

You can see the table here.

We move them all over the house.

Everywhere and in every room.

When I shared this picture in the “What I’m Reading Lately” post, I got asked about the table.

And I thought I’d show you how I use these tables all over the house.

// white side table // blue and white striped chair // blue and white rug //

Here it is on the other side of the room—it’s so easy to move around from chair to chair.

It has a round top and spindle base and it comes in a zillion different colors.

I have it in white, but it comes in mahogany, black, blue, pink, and expresso, too. The table measures 17.75 inches wide x 17.75 inches long x 24 inches high.

// white spindle chair // side table // khaki and white rug //

I have another one of the tables sitting next to the chair where I watch television in the family room.

The top is big enough for a cup of coffee, my laptop, my phone and a little plate for stacks.

And the finish cleans up so well, too. I’ve wiped coffee and crumbs and even popsicle drips off this table.

// khaki chair // white side table // washable rug //

It goes next to the chairs in the office.

It’s the perfect surface for the iPad and a cup of coffee.

If you have guests or when I’m sitting in here with a friend, I can add the table around from side to side.

// white side table // washable rug  // golden retriever pillow //

It’s like the superhero of tables.

The table goes anywhere and moves around like it has wheels.

Here I moved it over to the other side of the room (remember that chair I got at the yard sale)?

And here we are back where we started.

It’s hard to see in this picture, but the table is moved over to the side of the room between the blue-striped chair on the left and the loveseat.

It’s unassuming and quiet right now. It’s a little tired from climbing buildings in a single bound and saving the room with all that extra table space for coffee and snickerdoodles.

The perfect design invention superhero. 🙂

I love side tables. I have a bunch but they are square or oblong. The round one looks so charming. I could see me using it in a dozen places. I was hoping you made it so we could use your plan! I too love the artichoke bowl. Funny how you can become so fond of an item like that.

When my husband and I lived in married student housing at a school in Mexico ,we had stucco walls. We had to fill any holes we made in them. I used dried mashed potatoes. That was 54 years ago. I now use spackle!

I just saw this same table in espresso on one of the Instagram accounts I follow! Was beautiful in that color as well. For the price, I was worried about it holding up to husband's and kids so thanks for the review!

There is nothing like having a beautiful table like this one, which is a win win…in that you can take it to any part of your home, and it fits right in perfectly. I have a question, if you do not use a coaster, is the table easy to get a ring on it? Thanks and Happy New Year. You look great!
