Spring Home Tour and 12 Decorating Ideas for Spring
spring decorating idea 1: flowers
Buy some hydrangeas from Trader Joe’s.
Why?
If flower arranging intimidates you?
These are the flowers for you. Buy a package of three for $5.99. Cut off the bottom stems at a slant and take off most of the leaves. Place all three in a vase up so just the flowers show.
spring decorating idea 2: curtains
Did you know there’s a super simple way you can line curtains?
Seriously.
I made the curtains in this room and I used this to line them.
spring decorating idea 3: spray paint
If you want to freshen up an area of your house for spring?
Just add spray paint.
For $3.99 you can get an entirely new look.
Here’s a list of 9 things you can transform with spray paint.
spring decorating idea number 4: frame it
Looking for an inexpensive spring decorating idea? Did you know you can frame wallpaper?
Or scrapbook paper?
Or napkins?
Spring brings with it so many fun patterns and colors. Create simple art for your room by framing them.
number 5: shop yard sales
If you want to decorate your house for spring and you don’t have a lot of money?
Ummm…yard sales friend.
Here’s my list of 10 projects you can make from yard sale finds.
And see that map on the back wall of this room? You’ll never guess where I found it.
number 6: pom pom pillows
One of my favorite spring decorating ideas? I made the blue and white pom pom pillows in this room.
They were such an easy project using IKEA pillow cover and tassels.
number 7: paint the bookcase
You can transform a bookcase in minutes with paint.
This alcove in the front room was painted with SW Naval.
You can see the before and after here.
number 8: mix patterns
This is the time to have fun.
My favorite thing about this room is that there are stripes and polka dots and florals and toile.
Spring is the perfect season for a little more pattern.
number 9:
Add branches to a vase and use tissue paper to make flowers.
It’s such a budget-friendly option.
You can see the DIY here.
number 10: make your own nest
Did you know you can make a nest out of jute twine?
That’s right.
All you need is jute twine and glue and these instructions.
number 11: decoupage
Everything looks cuter with a little decoupage.
Especially spring pots.
You can see how to decoupage spring pots here.
number 12: add buttons to chairs
See the parsons chairs in the dining room?
They were already cute.
But this made them even cuter.
Whew.

I'm getting hydrangeas today for a little get together at my house later tonight! They've become my go-to quickie flower!
Love all the tips. Your home is beautiful.
You are so clever! Sitting over here nodding along with you because you seem to be reading my mind with each question you ask! Love all the tips and your home is just gorgeous for spring.
Love all your ideas. I'm going to give one of mine. Since we are on SS, don't have a lot of money to replace porch cushions every season. Soooo....I purchased some very inexpensive pretty fabric, got out my handy duck tape, cut the fabric to go around the cushions and applied duck tape to the back to hold everything together. This works good for the porch, but wouldn't do it inside. Anyway, I get a lot of compliments on our front porch for my pretty cushions. Whatever color is my theme, I paint my bicycle that color. Just a thought! I'm getting ready to change them all out again. You are the greatest!! and, I will be doing some of your great ideas!
I recovered my porch cushions with fabric and hot glue! My husband doubted they would hold up, but they did!!
Looks like spring has sprung in your beautiful home! Can't wait to try out the ideas in today's blog!
You forgot to mention that you need to take down all the winter decorating schtuff that is still out .... ahem! :)
