Looking for creative ideas to set a Friendsgiving table? Here’s some table inspiration and the prettiest inexpensive serving pieces.
If you have read this blog for more than a hot minute, you know there’s not a lot of cooking going on around here.
But table setting and table decorating?
Umm.
Yes, please.
When you don’t cook? Here’s a simple solution. Just invite friends over and have them bring the food. Then you set the table with blue and white plates and pumpkins and provide drinks and atmosphere and funny stories.
It works every time.
Here are some simple ideas for a small gathering of friends for Friendsgiving.
How to Set a Simple Friendsgiving Table
Just in case you are inviting friends over for Friendsgiving, here are some suggestions to set the table.
Look at these dishes. Hello south of France meets fall table decorating.
In super sad news, these blue and white plates sold out, but look at these beautiful dishes I found that are similar here and here.
And these placemats.
And these salt and pepper shakers.
The centerpiece is so simple.
I cut some hydrangeas and added eucalyptus and then tossed in a few white pumpkins and some woven branches for texture.
Then I stacked the plates and set the table.
And added these woven pumpkins.
The leaf is just cut out of a book page.
You could add a name to the leaf for guests, too.
Here’s the food set up in the kitchen.
Just some simple snacks and fruits and vegetables and cheeses.
All topped off with peach tea.
These dishes are SO PRETTY and SO AFFORDABLE.
Like this wood tray with the brass handles.
And the wood bowl with the brass handles. I couldn’t find the exact bowl online, but they have them in the stores and here’s one that’s similar.
There are white platters (these are similar to the ones I found in the store).
And white pitchers (you’ve seen these all over my house–I have an entire hutch decorated with them.).
I used this wood cake stand.
And this white cake stand with a wood base would be perfect for Friendsgiving.
And I also found this adorable butter dish.
There’s nothing better than friends and coffee and stories and talking about all the things.
I am so grateful for so many things and I count my blessings for my incredible friends every single day.
Especially when they show up with refreshments. 🙂

Oh, those plates! Honestly, the BH&G line at Walmart is just amazing. Such pretty things--and the items I've bought have been excellent quality, too! But the twins are 17? What?? Enjoy, Mama. Time doesn't ever slow down.
Such a pretty table setting and I love the Better Home & Gardens line. Loved the food displays too, makes me hungry. Happy Birthday to the Twins.
Happy Birthday Twinnies, may you take time to fly!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I know it is bittersweet-have felt that joy/pain (honestly still feel it -twenty years later). You have celebrated this milestone with style. Love the dishes(I have a thing for them too) and the table decor. Enjoy your time and know that you have done everything for them to fly successfully!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very pretty, love all the white with the natural touches. May I ask is your eucalyptus real, if not where did you purchase it?
Happy Birthday girls! You are blessed! Karianne, can you direct me to how to make the cutle little pumpkins on the plates? I have that same cording and would love to make some. Thanks
Love the Tablescape! Happy birthday to the Twins and to you and hubby also! We want them to fly but it’s difficult letting them leave the nest.
Happy Birthday mini-Thistles!!! The blue and white melamine plates must be sold out because no price is shown and it says delivery or pickup not available.. Waaaah
Happy Birthday to your beautiful girls! The party and tablescape were set up beautifully...such a fun time!
Pretty, pretty. I remember this as if yesterday (time really shifts and speeds up when you are older) The whole of my sons senior year I felt the same way. I was so very proud of him and his friends. Such amazing people. I cried a lot too. I even cried that these kids I had known since 1st grade were going off to lives I mostly would not see. Life. I know you will keep your family close and have many happy years together because you are so loving and giving. Enjoy this special time.
Beautiful table! What a wonderful celebration of your sweet girls. But I get that it’s a little emotional to think they’ll be 17. Where have the years gone? Love your whole family!
Happy Birthday to your girls! Seventeen is such a magical age.
You will ALWAYS enjoy your girl time with your daughters. Believe me, it just gets better! I am currently enjoying some amazing time with my youngest son in Seattle and loving every minute!
What is the small wooden round box?? I think I have one. Is it a salt box?? Thanks for making my day a beautiful one each and every day. I don't know how u do all u do? Shirl Meckley
Oh I get it!! My oldest just turned 17! I am so happy for him though, this is where the rubber meets the road as we see all those years of love and hard work play out in these amazing humans!! But man does the time just keep on flying by! I love the table setting and all of the food looks perfect!
Happy Birthday girls and as i told my granddaughter{ she's only 11} you can't date till your 25, lol!! Her dad said 30. The twins are so pretty and they did grow way too quick!!
How on earth did they get to be 17? Happy Birthday to your girls! Your table is lovely, too! ;)
The table is absolutely gorgeous! Happiest of Birthdays to your daughters 💜❤️💗 Crazy how time flies by 😳
What is the size of the acacia wood tray? I didn't see it on the Walmart website. Thank you.
Happy b-day to the girls... funny... when my girl turned 17, we started talking about her preparing her for marriage. I don't think too many mamas go through that these days. Enjoy... 17 is hard and wonderful all at the same time! Love the table and decor, KariAnne!
Happy Birthday girls. Did you make your wood ball garland - what size wood balls did you use?
My Wal-Mart has none of this ! Bummer
It’s been a joy watching them grow up via your blog. Happy birthday to two sweet twin sisters.
It's hard to believe that all our girls are nearly grown. Happy Birthday Whitney and Westleigh!
My grandson just turned 17 and I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried on his birthday. I cared for him everyday until he started pre-school. Indeed, where does the time go. Of course my daughter was just 17 herself or so it seems, actually 30 years ago! My dear mother use to say even a Ritz cracker deserves a great plate to sit upon. She had lots of dishes : ). P.S. thanks so much for all the links. My budget loves you. xoxoxoxo
Be still, my heart! You’re the BEST mom and it’s soooo hard when they leave the nest. But you are amazing and you’ll do great!!!! (And that’s a 4 exclamation point comment. Sign me up for the !!!! club!) LOL!!!!
