Truth?

Just between us?

Usually when I’m adding a little fall foliage to my house? I just step outside and shop the yard.

But this year in Texas is a little challenging. We’ve had a lot of rain and the leaves are mostly all still on the trees.

The nerve of them.

Clinging to summer like that.

So this year, I did something I normally never do and shopped for faux fall stems and along the way I discovered something amazing.

There’s a whole world of faux fall stems out there that I never even knew about. I’m shopping more online this year and that has widened my shopping horizons just a little.

If you are like me and your outdoor leaves aren’t cooperating?

Here are a few of my favorite fall stems.

I just bought these stems from Magnolia.

They aren’t really fall—more like transitioning from summer into fall—but I saw them and loved them.

They look SO realistic and they are really tall. I have a couple of areas in my house that need greenery with height and these are the perfect solution.

You can see them here and they are 20% off right now with the code SEPTEMBER.

This pampas grass.

I had to look really hard for good pampas grass. Some of the stems just looked so wimpy and pampas grass can be expensive. I want as much pampas grass as possible for as little pampas grass money as possible.

And then?

I found this one. You can only get it online and it’s from a company that I order from all the time called Afloral.

Here’s a package of fluffy pampas grass with six stems for only $14.99.

Look at these dried grasses.

It comes in a bundle like this and doesn’t need any arranging.

I have dried wheat stalks already and I’m mixing these dried grasses with it on my sideboard. I love the texture and color of this grass for fall.

You can see it here.

Look at these adorable buttons.

And the color.

They are going to go perfectly in this room.

They would look so pretty in these glass vases from Walmart.

You can see them here.

I dry my hydrangeas every year and this stem looks exactly what I wish they looked like.

The color is perfection and none of the leaves are smushed.

You can see the hydrangea stem here.

I’m ordering this branch to fill one of my glass vases.

It’s only $5.00 for this stem and each stem has three branches.

I’m all about neutrals and golds this year for my fall.

And this golden aspen stem is so pretty.

I love stems with long ends like this because they work so much better in my balloon vases.

You can see the stem from Target here.

These leaves made me miss Kentucky.

At the end of our road there was an S curve and in the fall the leaves would turn brilliant amber and mustard colors.

It’s such a pretty fall color and the stem is a good value—a lot of leaves and 31″ high for under $9.00.

This pomegranate stem is so pretty.

The leaves combined with the mini pomegranates just look like fall.

A few of these would make such a statement.

The leaves on this ginkgo stem are so pretty.

They almost look like art.

And the color is a super soft yellow.

You can see the ginkgo stems here.

Look at the variations of color on this hops stem.

And the texture is so pretty.

It’s from Target and super inexpensive.

And if you are looking for vases to put all your stems in?

My favorite balloon vase isn’t available from Target anymore, but they have this new glass vase from the Magnolia collection.

If you need a good basic glass vase, I’d order this one as soon as you can because vases like this always sell out.

You can see it here.

And I found my favorite vase grouping at Walmart.

It makes flower arranging SO easy.

You’ve seen this on my blog over the years with greenery or hydrangeas or Christmas stems.

It’s the perfect mantel vase.

You can see it here.

I could ALMOST feel fall when I walked out the door today.

It’s just around the corner.

And when it gets here?

I want to make sure my house is ready for it.

Happy fall shopping. 🙂

Pretty sure I can use the Magonila market stems, but they are all so pretty! How many branches are on one of the MM stems? Just wondering how many I would need. These you could use year round by adding anything! Also, I love the ball shaped clear vase with the real leaves. Any idea of source? Happy Friday, friend!

I am so lucky because we planted several grasses (as we "collected" them) and now I have the beautiful fall foliage that they have!!! On our farm, I also have several trees to give me foliage of different kinds.

Kentucky misses YOU!! Beautiful! I'm so glad to see such great faux stems! I remember fondly my Fake Ficus I bought at Trees and Trends, and I threw it away when I just couldn't get the dust off of it anymore!! LOL!!

Aww, I love fall foliage, especially bittersweet stems and maple leaves. I usually go all out and decorate my office suite for fall, except this year, since everybody is working from home. But on a brighter note--we are slated to get a big, ugly cold front next Tuesday, with highs in the 60's for a couple of days! I'll try to send some of it south, Karianne, because we're all tired of 90+ degrees.

Love all of your selections. Can’t wait to see how you arrange and use them throughout your house. I may just have to go to town and make a stop at the Silos to get some of the green stems. Also want to get her Fall candle. Hope your son is staying COVID free. Lots of cases on the campus right now.

Love love your faux stem choices! I usually freeze when trying to make a decision! These are all perfect! The hydrangeas look so cute in a little square galvanized box I found hiding in a vintage antique mall earlier this summer!
