fall wreath

Whew.

#calmdown

There is a whole lot of something going on with that title.

I’m so excited that I don’t even know where to begin.

It reminds of the first time I walked into IKEA and got my first IKEA shopping cart with the odd wheels that are super hard to push wandered the giant aisles and stared at the overwhelming rows and rows of pillows and rugs and plates and mugs and chargers and place mats and I had to press the pause button….

….because I didn’t know where to start.

Just like today.

So let me go all Julie Andrews and start at the very beginning.

I’ve heard it’s a very good place to start.

where I write

This is where I blog.

This is where I write.

I know I usually show you this area with pumpkins or flowers or a glass cloche, but truthfully, most of the time it looks exactly like this.

And it’s important to understand that I can’t write the blog without three things.

1.  A computer

2.  A sleeping dog

3.  A candle

sage evergreen

I think the candle is the secret.

I’m kind of a candle snob.  I choose my candles like I choose my red lipstick….

…..very carefully.

And this is my new favorite friend.

Sage Evergreen.

I wish you could smell it.  It’s burning right now as I’m writing this to you and I’ll try to describe the scent. It smells like fall with a hint of Christmas with a hint of the country with a hint of falling leaves topped off with the smell of evergreen.

And it’s a big candle at 24 oz.

And it’s white so it goes with everything.

And it comes in the cutest jar with a beautiful hand-sketched label.

And my friend Laura created this candle and two other yummy scents like lavender evergreen and lemon verbena.

I just loaded them into the shop along with some new Christmas items.

birch bark trees

Like these birch bark trees.

go your own way plate thanksgiving

And the set of bowls with sayings.

fall wreath

And two more sizes of the birch bark wreaths.

One that’s 24″ like this one.

And one that’s 13″ and so cute it will make you smile.

jute garland

And this jute garland with wood slices.

numbered wood slices

And these numbered wood slices that would make the perfect 12 days of Christmas display.

And then it gets even better (is that even possible…why yes it is)

Because we are giving away one birch bark wreath, two birch bark trees and a candle of your choice to one lucky winner.

I know….RIGHT?

All you have to do is use the Rafflecopter to enter below and leave me a comment telling me your favorite candle scent and I’ll choose a winner by random selection next week.

Happy day friend!

How do you pick a favorite? I love florals in the warm weather-and since I live in Houston, that's most of the year :) I do like to have a Christmas candle to help make it feel more Christmassy. But truthfully, I never met many candles that I didn't like :) What a nice giveaway!

  8. Image for stephanie stephanie

I love anything citrus based- makes the house smell so clean and fresh and sunshiney- is that a word? Thanks for the opportunity!

  9. Image for Sheila Sheila

Wow, I love all that stuff. What a great giveaway! I think the sage and evergreen candle sounds scrumptious but I also think I would like the lavender evergreen for the bedroom or bath. I'm pretty stressed right now with trying to sell our house and other things that I find I am needing something to help me relax. Perhaps that candle would be the key to being able to do that. Of course I would not snub my nose at any of those nice goodies. LOL

  10. Image for Adrienne Adrienne

It's so hard to pick just one scent. In the spring and summer I love lilac and fruity/island/coconut scents. In the winter I like the warm spicy scents like cinnamon, baked apple pie and pumpkin.

  11. Image for jenni farnes jenni farnes

omiholycow...favorite candle scent? i could not choose A favorite candle scent because it depends entirely on the season. i wouldn't think of burning something deliciously sagey and evergreenish in the summer, or something spicey and pumpkiny in the spring...but i would certainly love to have my house fill with lemon verbena or lavender in the summer, or tuberose in the spring. it just depend on the season and the weather....i'm kinda crazy that way. bless my heart.

Hi Karianne, what lovely shop items. Cinnamon just smells like the holiday season to me. You're getting me into the holiday spirit and I'm not ready. I better get busy. Having said that, I must add that I'm most impressed with your writing space which is so neat, organized and clutter-free. I'm not surprised but I'm only comparing it to my own writing space-lol. Well, I am a candle snob as well as a coffee snob and up until ordering a special candle from Laura, my favorite scent is 24K Tyler Candle Co. I love that scent. I'll sit there and just keep sniffing the candle -- without it being lit. How can anything with the name 24K be anything but gen-u-ine!! They are based in Texas. Well, excuse me but I have to put in a candle order. Thank you my dear friend.

All of her scents sound fantastic, but I admit I am partial to anything Lemon Verbena. It's my favorite scent for my Mrs Meyers cleaning products as well, and it's so "clean" and good for any season of the year. But anything remotely Christmas tree scented is a seasonal favorite in this house.

  30. Image for Debbie Debbie

Well, I must order the Sage-Evergreen candle right now! That just sounds wonderful. I would also love the Rosemary scented candle that I saw pictured on the website, but it doesn't seem to be available. Does Laura have plans to restock that one? I can't pass by a rosemary bush without brushing my hands against it. Love that scent!!

  31. Image for Linda Linda

Sage Evergreen sounds yummy! Girl...in your spare time (! I know) you need to write a book. Your writing style is so funny,, so real...I LOVE reading your posts. Have a beautiful fall day!

I'm guessing I'd like them all!! But I think I'd choose the lavender evergreen..it sounds interesting;)

Well this is perfect timing. I just purchased a candle from Home Goods. It had been burning all day, when my husband came home I asked if if he thought the candle had a nice fragrance, not too strong? He said "I cant smell a thing." Exactly my point. I have a mind to return it ! I would choose the lemon verbena , food fragrance is always welcomed. Thanks for the opportunity , you sassy red lipstick wearing gal!

  39. Image for Cristy Cristy

So I'm totally about to purchase my first candle *exciting*! Is the code SUNSHINE still active? It doesn't seem to be working.

  40. Image for Linda Linda

My favorite scents for candles are anything with herbs! Lemon verbena, basil, or lavender! I love seeing where you blog! Thanks for sharing!

  61. Image for Donna Donna

I can no longer find a candle with my favorite scent. I don't know what the name of it was, but it was one I used every Christmas MANY years ago. I keep looking for it every year, but so far, no luck. So, other than that one, my favorite is Mandarin Mint. Speaking of 'favorites," your blog is one of my three favorites that I never miss. Love your ideas, your way with words and, well, just the "you" that shines throughout your writing.

  62. Image for Sheila Sheila

My favorite candle scent is evergreen - I have not tried these candles but Christmas just doesn't feel right without a Balsam Fir scented candle. Luckily, I have a credit to use and the Evergreen Sage is going in my basket!

  63. Image for Beth Beth

You had me at smells like fall with a little bit of Christmas. P.S. I tried to enter Sunshine as a discount code but the reply was it was not found as an accepted code. Any help just in case I don't win?

  69. Image for Robin Bonvino Robin Bonvino

Wow, what a lovely give away package. Anything birch is just amazing! My favorite candle scent is Sage Evergreen.

  70. Image for Jolyn Jolyn

My fave scent is red currant. Its crisp and tart and sweet at the same time... but in the fall, I can't get enough vanilla-cinnamon. Probably because I never bake, and it makes it smell like I'm being Betty Crocker.

  71. Image for LMBB LMBB

I tend to stick with vanilla or cookie or cake candle scents. Sometimes the floral ones are too smelly for me but I'm a weirdo so what do I know. The sage evergreen does sound interesting. I love your description.

  72. Image for Kari Cox Kari Cox

Macintosh apple is hands-down my favorite scent, but I think the Sage Evergreen sounds amazing! Thank you for the opportunity! :)

  76. Image for kathy kathy

Oh, how fun! My favorite candle scent depends on the season. Cinnamon at Christmas, pumpkin spice in the fall. Lemon verbena in the summer.... I think the sage evergreen sounds like a great smell. Eucalyptus is another favorite of mine. Decisions, decisions! I love, love, love that birch bark wreath! What a great giveaway! Wow, what wonderful things! I would love the Lemon Verbena Candle! Thanks so very much for your ideas and inspiration! Kathy Adams

  79. Image for Taylor Taylor

I am ridiculous with candles- my husband does not understand why I have 12 currently for our 1600sq ft home. It's a bad obsession....although a very nice smelling obsession! I love all things lavender...and Christmas. So lavender evergreen would get my vote!

  80. Image for Raquel Raquel

I love citrusy smells and things like sage and lavendar. And I love, love candles. Love wreaths. Geez, this giveaway is for me.

  81. Image for Lauren Faczan Lauren Faczan

My favorite candle scent is Biscotti (WW candles). Fantastic giveaway! Thank you for the opportunity to possibly win! :)

  82. Image for Karen Karen

KariAnne! You've done it again! First of all that wreath and armoire!!!!!! I am slowly decorating in Scandinavian Old Country, so all of this would be fantastic (including the armoire *hint hint*) and I love the navy/white towel you show under the disk garland!!!!!! As for scents for a candle? I fell in love with the evergreen scent ever since I walked into a fun/funky store on Clark Street in Chicago in the middle of Andersonville that had the most incredible plaid upholstered chair in it's window so of course I just had to go inside!!!! Well when that door opened, I smelled the most wonderful scent of evergreen all around me and found out it was candles they had burning throughout this amazing store....I ended up buying 3 large candles to take home. So, I'd have to say bring on the evergreen! And pairing it with lavender????!!!! Yup I'm in! I'm headed over to your shop right now to take a peek at what you have now :) Have a wonderful day my dear! Blessings! Karen

  83. Image for Mary Crozier Mary Crozier

Hands down, it's Volcano by Capri Blue. These hand-poured candles are in stunning cobalt blue glass jars. Last year, they added a mercury glass jar and a deep gorgeous Christmas red jar to their collection. I buy lots of them every October (enough for gifts and for me) and recently I purchased their new scent, Fir & Firewood which smells like the candle you described. The green glass is a stunning color and the lid is etched with pinecones and branches. Also, I just purchased the birch wreath and didn't realize there was going to be a bigger size (which I would have ordered instead)!! Glad you are having a sale today~

  84. Image for NormaJean NormaJean

Your description of the Sage Evergreen makes me want that one! Since you have such a huge following, I'm pretty sure I won't be the one to win, so I will make a trip to your shop to buy one for myself; also that gorgeous birch bark wreath! Love, love, love it!

  85. Image for Jill Jill

My favorite candle scent is anything with cinnamon in the fall/winter and anything with vanilla in the spring/summer. But I'd love to try that sage/evergreen candle. I never thought of burning a candle while I'm blogging, but I'll give it a try. I have perfected the sleeping dog at my feet element (I have four dogs) and now have to add one cat sitting on my keyboard/interfering with anything I'm currently trying to do and further interruptions for cat/human head bonking (a cat thing that I was not aware of until now).

  86. Image for Wendy D, Wendy D,

I am such a candle snob also. Mostly because hubby has reactions to most scents, so to keep him happy I compromise. Love those wreaths!!! I would leave it out all winter because it just speaks winter to me. Thank you for all of the great inspiration and the giveaway!!!

  87. Image for Tess S. Tess S.

I LOVE lavender anything BUT it has to be good lavender, real lavender. The lavender evergreen sounds wonderful and I would love a chance to try it! I love your website and appreciate the opportunity to win your gift!

My favorite scent this time of year is Pumpkin Spice! Yummy! The Sage Evergreen sounds truly wonderful. On a separate note, I visited Kentucky for the first time last July. What a treat! Loved the miles of white fences along those old highways. As always, thank you, Kari Anne, for the inspirational posts. :) Norma Jean Oregon

I love candles...they make everything cozy. My favorite scents are usually florals or citrus. I like SO many. :)

  96. Image for Angela Mathias Angela Mathias

I don't work very well without a sleeping dog nearby either. So sweet! The candles I usually like are some kind of kitchen scent that isn't too obvious. However, the other day at TJ Maxx I came across one called Popcorn Garland. It smelled so yummy and like fresh popped corn. Had to have it. I will not be surprised when I find myself craving popcorn every day.

  97. Image for Carrie Carrie

Sage Evergreen~ no question. I hunt for the perfect evergreen scent each year, because we use my husband's grandparents artificial tree~ for sentimental reasons, but I miss that real tree aroma! Thank you!

  108. Image for Lisa Mothersead Lisa Mothersead

My current favorite is "Fire" from Reserve candle company. At Christmas I like Peppermint from Bath and Body Works. Often, I use plain old Vanilla from Pier One.

  109. Image for MeganC MeganC

My husband has this crazy sensitive sense of smell, so we are REALLY limited on what we can have in the house. Right now I have a sage-lime scent, the sage evergreen sounds perfect for the holidays!!

  110. Image for prince snow farm prince snow farm

Oh the sage evergreen sounds fabulous! I love that Christmasy smell. Makes the house feel like Christmas morning,or a walk through the woods on a crisp day. What beautiful items!

So I am short on luck, but will hop over and order a candle. Thanks for the chance to win.
