When I look back now….I think it all really started with the DIY plate.

I mean….we’ve been friends since the beginning, Kelly and I.

She left a comment on the fourth post I ever wrote here.

A long time ago.

In the dark ages.

Back when American Idol was still holding auditions and we had never heard of Phillip Phillips.

She left this comment on the post where I found my window by the side of the road and had a curbside conversation:

“I have a little voice in my head too (not the medication taking kind either) that just insists I stop and pick up random things on the side of the road!  Once I was picking through curbside castoffs when my hubs drove by and shouted out the window “Just Leave it There”!! He scared the wits out of me but I still managed to secure my haul and speed away.

Love that chalkboard window and your newest follower.

I thought she was funny.  Really funny.

And talented.

And creative.

And unique.

I mean….she was posting things I never even thought of before.

Like ladder Christmas trees.

And umbrella flower holders for your front door.

And door knob Easter Eggs.

Door knob Easter Eggs?  Really?  Who thinks of things like that?

But it was the plate project that really started it all.

When I saw it….I was in awe.

Anyone who could take a dollar store plate and a porcelain marker and create an inspiration piece had my unquestionable devotion and friendship from that day forward.

You see….there is no one just like Kelly.

She can make me laugh until I’m snorting and I sound just like the two old men sitting in the balcony on the Muppet Show.

And inspire me with her creativity and brilliance and flower-filled chest of drawers.

She impresses me with her single-minded devotion to yard saling and incredible estate sale finds.

And helps me navigate the ups and downs of this exclamation point filled blogging journey.

But perhaps, most importantly….she gets me.

She understands the randomness that fills my head and listens to every last bit of it.

She makes me smile and brings me so much joy every day.

And I truly am so blessed to have found a friend….a friend like Kelly…in this big, wide world of blog land.

And so….in honor of Kelly and all of the friends I have made on this blogging journey……I am excited to announce my first giveaway.

That’s right!  I am so excited!

Having a friend who "gets" you cannot be measured! You are lucky, lucky, lucky....and blessed, blessed, blessed! I think I have a friend like that but since she's an actual, card carrying psychologist I always wonder if she sees me as another needy person in need of therapy...no, no, no....I'm sure she really likes me....I think....... Don't be sad about camp....OMG....time to sleep late, do projects, have lunch with friends, sleep late, read a book, sit on a swing, trash pick, thrift shop, sleep late...........they are having fun and you should too! Blessings, Lorraine

There's a circle of love...... and only those that love us would now picture the mistress of Thistlewood Farm wandering it's lovely rooms as an old muppet man. Snorting. ~Bliss~

The most incredible part of blogging is the relationships you make. I'm constantly overwhelmed by the people I am meeting, and that includes the likes of you and Kelly. My world is a little brighter and a little bolder because of the both of you...

You are truly gifted. Your talents are way up there - esp your written word..................I am in awe nearly everytime I read you. You want to know something REALLY strange? OK. It is the God's Truth, I swear it. I first saw your pic of Kelly's plate- the first one where you cannot read the words. Could have been anything. Then I saw the header where it was referred to as Lyric Plate. And, well, music is my only true talent and my heart raced and I immediately thought of a certain album - there is only one album I would write the lyrics to. I have before, just not on plates. Just like that. Then I continued reading further and further and then saw her plate close up and gasped. SHE wrote Born to Run! WOW. How do I explain that that BTR is the exact album that came to mind only moments before? I got tears in my eyes and goosebumps....because that truly has to be more than coincidence - I mean she could have written from the Bible or any book or any single solitary song that exsists in this entire world and she did that and I thought of that and, well, I am just more than a teeny bit freaked out by the startling coincidence. I had better go see Kelly's blog. I think I am supposed to do it right now Karianne , who know why things happen the way they do, ya know? You are a treasure to be sure. Thank you for this post. It means something very special to me because those lyrics are very very special to me. It would be nearly impossible to explain but maybe one day I will, and you will understand indeed. ♥

My coder is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using Movable-type on various websites for about a year and am worried about switching to another platform. I have heard fantastic things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress posts into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
