Thistlewood Front Door

edited to add (in all exclamation points)…..THE CHALKBOARD WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you sooooo much to everyone who voted. 🙂

Just in case this is your first time here….

….this is me.

Nice to meet you.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

My name is karianne.

I like big earrings and red lipstick and rock stars and sweet tea with lime and knights in shining armor and…..

…..rescuing treasures from the trash.  🙂

And this is my chalkboard calendar…..

….that was destined for the dump.

We have a lot in common….my chalkboard and I.

We’re both a little chippy with character and personality and extra imperfections….just trying to put one foot in front of the other to make it through the day.

And we are crossing all our fingers and Ripley’s Believe It or Not toes…..

….that you’ll vote for us!

The chalkboard made it to the final round of voting.

And all because of you.  🙂

Because you have voted and encouraged and inspired and you….yes you….

…..took a moment from your busy day to vote and cheer us on.

And now I’m asking for one more favor.

You see….if the chalkboard wins today….I get to travel to Iowa and meet the editor of Better Homes and Gardens.

I KNOW…..right?

The voting is only for today.

You can vote as many times as you want….but you have to wait an hour in between votes.

And thank you.

Thank you for the wonderful you that you are and the encouragement and the joy you share with me and the inspiration……

….and all of the laughter. 🙂

PS  And just in case you thought I was only about chalkboards and calendars and voting….

….here’s a sneek peek at a project I’ve been working on. 🙂

Can’t wait to tell you all about it.

Have a wonderful day rock stars. 🙂

Karianne, got to thinking about your treasure - the window - wondering about its being a portal for various events in life. Was someone waiting nervously at the window for a love one to come home in the storm? Was a parent pacing at the window for the child to come in from the date? Was someone looking excitedly for the arrival of a newborn grandchild? Was a wife waiting to see her husband coming in from the field, while dinner bubbled on the stove? Or, did the sunshine reflect through the window on the flowers arranged on the table? Can you see the dust floating in the rays? Did rain drops slowly flow down the frame? Lots to contemplate for the weathered window frame! Now it's a rock star on the internet! Best of luck to you both!

I voted!! I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Iowa. Its on my I want to go there places for I want to go to the house in the Grant Wood painting American Gothic and have my photo of my hubby and me taken in front of it. So I hope you win and enjoy your time in Iowa and if you get a chance, I have no idea where this house actually stands but just ask them at B&H--they featured a tiny picture of it last summer. WOW!!! I never vote much except I voted for your bike that time. Wish you still had it up. I thought it was outstanding!!!
