Can you sing all the verses of “12 Days of Christmas”?
Let me give you a hint.
There are partridges in pear trees and five gold rings and turtledoves and lords a-leaping and french hens.
When I was little it was one of our family traditions—singing the entire song from start to finish and remembering all of the things our true love was going to bring us over the holidays.
And all these years later…
….I am all about a drummer drumming.
After all, remember the Angry Lemons?
If you are like me and you are all about the ladies dancing and geese and swans that swim and the 12 days of Christmas.
I have the perfect table setting for you (and a few other Christmas decorating ideas, too).
This is our Christmas dining room.
It’s all about red and white sprinkled with twinkle lights and blue stripes.
And it was inspired by these dishes.
Aren’t these amazing?
This set is from Better Homes and Gardens and Walmart.
And it’s SO AFFORDABLE.
You can see the entire set here.
Each of the salad plates is different.
There are four plates with three of the 12 days on it.
Here are the four calling birds and the five gold rings and the six geese a-laying.
And here are the seven swans-a-swimming.
And the eight maids a-milking.
And the nine ladies dancing.
(total aside: are you singing along with me as I type?)
The 12 days of Christmas set also comes with four large dinner plates that look like this.
The days are all around the rim and the center has a calligraphy font with the “twelve days of Christmas.”
It also has four bowls with this font and the days around the rim.
You can see the entire set here.
Here are just a few tips for an easy Christmas table:
- Create a centerpiece with a sled and ornaments (EASIEST centerpiece ever). Make sure you scatter a few ornaments around for added color.
- Layer your Christmas plates and add a candy cane and a sprig of greenery.
- Add an ornament with each person’s name on the plate for Christmas.
- Mix up your linens. I added this runner (the runner is reversible) and these napkins and these placemats.
- Fill the air with the scent of Christmas. These are two of my favorite (super affordable) candles here and here.
Here are just a few things I added to the rest of the room.
But the star of the show?
The 12 Days of Christmas and all their friends. That set is amazing and it looks so high end. I would order asap or run to a Walmart near you before the lords and ladies and gold rings are gone.
I also thought that these holiday mule mugs (they come in a set of four) would look so cute with the table, too.
I keep them in my coffee station (you can see that here).
And you can see the entire set here.
Also, here’s a sneak peek of my family room.
I decorated the mantel with these flickering light candles that look SO REAL. They are battery-operated on double-A batteries and come in different sizes.
I got them from Better Homes and Gardens, too and you can see them here and here and here.
Y’all.
Decorating for Christmas makes me so happy.
Seriously.
I have the Christmas music at full volume and the candles burning and a movie going in the other room and Christmas coffee.
And sometimes?
A drummer even shows up to make my Christmas a little brighter. 🙂
What a festive table! I love your advent calendar! Is it vintage?

Aaand the plates are out of stock online. But they are gorgeous. There are so many pretty things out this year--it's fun to look. I'm holding out on decorating for Christmas until this Saturday--I like to fully embrace Thanksgiving including the decorations. Happy day to you.
Love your table setting, KariAnne! And the “Twelve Days of Christmas” dishes are just beautiful! On the same theme, the Hallmark “Twelve Dates of Christmas “ movie may be right up your alley. Best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving for you and your family! P.S. I’m sure your dinner will be delicious.
Really love the red holly bordered plates! Your emails are always so cheery! Many thanks!

Love for King & Country - and that is a beautiful video (and my favorite new version of the song)! Thanks for sharing! And, KariAnne, I'm curious about the Santa ornament on the door handle - did you make that or was it a treasure score somewhere?!? Love it!
Found this set of salad plates at Thrift Store a few weeks ago while visiting my sister. The song was my son's favorite while growing up so I just had to get them.
Oh so cute! Your pics are so amazing and each one just says "happy and full of joy!" Keep on inspiring, KA. It's working! Hugs.

Kari-Anne, Are the holly plates tin? Many thanks!
It's beautiful, KA. Is there anything prettier than blue and white with red Christmas accents?! No, there is not! Love these plates ... so fun. And, you've got me searching iTunes to add the song to my Christmas playlist! xo
This is all so pretty! You are so talented!
What an inviting table you have there, KariAnne! Anyone eating at your table will enjoy the décor as much as the delicious foods. Will be so fun singing the plates after dinner. I will forever love the 12 Days of Christmas! In college that was a bonus questions that pushed me over to an A! I made sure all my children at home and school knew every word as well. Love ideas that uses this song as well as my other favorite Jingle Bells reminds me of marching in the Christmas parades. Sweetheart I love that your ideas are often from Walmart or the outdoors. Slowly this throw dead hydrangeas in a vase and pretend it looks like something Karianne would do... is getting educated as a decorator. I love how you use things that are memory keepers to decorate in your house as well. Keep shining sweet girl! Star you are. Always woohooing for you in Webster County Kentucky. We have snow flurries today! I know!

Your Christmas dishes on your beautiful table are so pretty! I have never seen anything like them before. Also, your tree is just gorgeous, KariAnne. It is definitely the "finishing touch" in your lovely Dining Room. Thanks for such a cute post! You always bring us so many ideas that we can all use. You are one special gal and so happy that you are married to your wonderful "drummer"! Bless you!
I am obsessed with these dishes! Unfortunately, they are out of stock. When I enter my email for notification when they are available, it won’t take it. So bummed!
