What is it about makeovers that is so wonderful?
Seriously.
Show me a picture of a dark, dingy, extra-pitiful “before”….preferably with stacks of laundry and a random hallway mirror….
….and tell me to “click here” to see the after.
And I’ll click.
Every. Single. Time.
I can’t help it.
With makeovers….hope always springs eternal.
The shiny, polished, beautiful after always gives me inspiration and hope….and the unerring belief that a little paint….a little tweaking….and a fresh perspective…..
….makes everything better.
And how lucky am I?
Because you are here….and because you are reading and because truly….no one else gets a blog that starts talking makeovers and ends up waxing philosophically….
….except you and me. 🙂
And at this moment….for some reason…..the entire “Free to Be…..You and Me” album is racing through my head.
I know. Truly. I know it’s random….but seriously….in the words of Marlo Thomas….
“Singin’….glad to have a friend like you
Fair and fun and skippin’ free
Glad to have a friend like you….
And glad to just be ….glad to just be….glad to just be…..me.”
Now….without further singing or philosophizing….
….here are our make-over winners from the makeover party:

Dining Room Makeover
Oooh la gorgeous those are all amazing! Yes the more pitiful the more excited I get about a makeover, because you know it can only be amazing if the before has dirty laundry lounging about!
Love! Love! Love! every single one of them. It would be very difficult to have a favorite and I do agree I love Cinderella stories -- that's what I consider make overs. My whole house is going to be a Cinderella story with the Prince coming along and helping her turn into a swan . . . Wait! That's a different fairytale. Oh well. . . . it's the happy ending that counts. Good picks Kari!! Big hugs to you.
I really love the home office makeover- so feminine and fresh! I could work in there:)
Hahaha.. Guess we are all suckers for a pitiful before and a smashing after. Super choices! HUGS, Gee
Oh my! You chose gorgeous ones-I think that I like makeovers so much because it shows style and ingenuity that goes way beyond just opening your checkbook.
I'm a sucker for a makeover e.v.e.r.y.time! They are addicting...plain and simple! They are always fun to see...and they give us hope...as we sit in our own rooms surrounded by piles of laundry! Hehe! Those are great makeovers, btw! ;)
fab projects each and every one of them!! :)
Thanks for sharing. How fun! I love to see befores and afters!
Hey Karianne, love all the makeovers esp. the mirror and the wine cabinet. PS....I am still recieving 2 emails from you each day...thought you mihgt want to know as I know....I know...you know...that you've been having some issues with this...LOL...have a great day Rock Star!
Might I just say that the dining room makeover was A-MAZ-ING? Being a child of the 70's, when paneling was KING, I am a big fan of any makeover that includes minimizing the effects of PANELING. Ugh. I would venture to say that at this point in my life, I would be drawn to buying a house with paneling just to prove that it can be made pretty with paint and/or DRYWALL! LOL Keep the makeovers coming, and wax philosophical all you want - And if you see paneling - PAINT IT! ;)
All makeovers are nice...but that eggplant seems to pull at my heart strings. Sheila
The dining room makeover was the most dramatic, but I want the neutral living room in my own home! :) All of them are nice and you are right, how can you say no to looking at a makeover? And isn't it nice to know we don't have to be "stuck" with something--a little ingenuity can make a huge difference. Thanks for the inspiration.
Love all the makeovers Karianne and the color on the tv cabinet makeover has me drooling!
Great Makeovers!! Thanks for sharing them ... such wonderful inspiration.
Oh they are all so beautiful!! I love the office makeover, the colours are so pretty. Debbie :)
Thank you so much, Karianne! This certainly made my day. :) xoxo Rachel @ Maison de Pax
