house-fall-outside

I can’t believe you’re here.

Actually, I think I should start with I can’t believe that fall is here….

…and that summer is about to leave the building.

But I digress.  That’s a story for another day.  I’m so happy you stopped by for the HomeGoods Fall Home Tour from Rhoda’s or Jessica’s or your kitchen or from just down the road.

Come on in.

Let’s get this tour started. 🙂

I spent last week decorating for fall and the entire time one thought kept dancing through my brain.

I put the leaves in the hallway.

I thought about it.

I put the pumpkins and the pinecones on the toolbox.

I thought about it a little more.

I put the twig pumpkin on the back of the door and I thought about it one more time.

This one idea kept twisting and turning and flipping and spinning around in my head….

…love the one you’re with.

Dance with the one you brought you.

I know it’s silly.

I get it…really…I do.

But I take my seasons seriously.

And just between us, I was kind of feeling sorry for summer.

Like I had just gathered up his coat and hat, pushed him out the door without so much as a by your leave….

….and looked around for another season to dance with.

I mean, it’s true.  I’ve always had a crush on winter.

*sigh*

Winter, with it’s blustery days filled with soup and dinner by the fire and sledding and ice skating and Christmas.

Wonderful glorious, amazing Christmas.

But somewhere around February…

…I am so over him.

rustic pumpkin

wheat on stairs

I’m so over the cold and the slush and the dirt and huddling by the fire and damp mittens and puddles of snow by the back door.

I’m arching my eyebrows and tapping my feet with impatience.

And just when I don’t want to dance any more with winter….

….spring comes along.

Spring.

Spring with its green leaves and tiny shoots of flowers poking up through the soil and the wonderful smell of earth and all that is good and right with the world.

New and fresh and wonderful….

…for a while.

I can’t help it.  I’m ready to move on.

I need a new dance partner.

I’m ready to leave the rain and the damp and the bluster and the hustle and bustle that is spring.

And then?

Wood pumpkins

I’m ready for summer.

Ready for warmth and sunny days and the lazy carefree moments when the hustle and bustle slows.  Ready for the beach and the ocean and fireflies dancing in the back pasture and the smell of hay that’s just been cut and freshly squeezed lemonade on the back porch.

Ready for simplicity and good books and days spent day dreaming.

And just when I think I’m settled, just when I think I’m done….somewhere between the chapters of the book and the sips of lemonade….

.…my heart starts to yearn for fall.

That first crisp cool fall day.

You know.

When you see the first leaf fall and you know that nature is getting ready to paint a brilliant masterpiece.

Amazing colors of every shade and hue burst forth around every bend in the road.

magnolia flower

red pumpkin

See what I mean?

I’m always leaving a season behind and dancing with someone new.

But this fall it’s going to be different.

I’m going to pause.

I’m going to drink hot chocolate and carve pumpkins and go on hay rides and wear plaid scarves and watch the leaves fall and roast marshmallows…

…and love the one I’m with.

At least until winter rolls through town.

Just kidding.

Maybe. 🙂

And now for the next stop on the tour, be sure and visit Inspired By Charm.

You won’t want to miss his house, it’s amazing.

And a giant shout out to HomeGoods for putting this all together and sponsoring the tour.

I like the idea of a living room with only armchairs. Comfy for everybody. But no place to sprawl with a book. I like to lie down to read. Hmmm. I am still all summer all the time. It's hot here. Cool nights, though, and no humidity. It will stay like this for another week or two before descending into the 80s. As long as the temps are in the 90s, as far as I'm concerned, it's summer. It won't be fall until I have to wear a sweater in the daytime.

    1. Image for Rachel Rachel

Fall has become my favorite. It used to be summer without contest but at some point fall won me over. The beauty of changing leaves, cuddling up when the weather cools. It's why we went with October for our wedding. We used pumpkins and burlap and candles. Now I get to use our wedding decor for my seasonal decor.

  2. Image for Angie Angie

Everything looks beautiful, KariAnne! And you're right, it's always so hard to pause and enjoy the moment instead of looking down the road. I hope you savor every glorious moment of fall this year!

  3. Image for Shauna Shauna

Goodness, I love your home! So inviting and beauty around every corner. Great tour and I love your narrative to0 ;) Go dance with fall now and enjoy! :)

  4. Image for Brittany Fry Brittany Fry

I am so ready to pull all my pumpkins and leaves out of storage but I want to do some deep cleaning before doing so. Maybe I can tackle that cleaning this week then have fun decorating over the weekend. I love all your different pumpkins!!!! Everything looks so so so pretty!

  5. Image for Mrs Mike Mrs Mike

I'm resisting the urge to pull out fall decor this week. We're not into Halloween in our family, so my fall decor has to last through Thanksgiving! Just not sure I'm ready for all of it. I think I may add 1-2 items a week for the next couple of weeks, then finish up the first week of Oct. When it might actually be below 80...hopefully. Must love Houston...

  6. Image for Marty@A Stroll Thru Life Marty@A Stroll Thru Life

I love Fall too. Summers are so hot and finally Fall comes and it is just perfect. Your tour was so pretty, loved it all.

  7. Image for Debra Debra

It's fall, y'all! C'mon, the crisp dry air means that every day is a good hair day. Need I go on? Okay, the rich colors of turning leaves and mums and pumpkins. The coziness of tartan plaid throws coming out from storage. Apple pies and apple cobblers. What's not to love?

  8. Image for Patty Patty

Fall is my favorite season. I love the long days of summer but I truly hate the humidity. I love watching the leaves turn beautiful colors but I hate raking them up. I love the cooler nights and snuggling under a blanket but I hate turning on the heat and paying for oil. Even with all that I do love fall.

  9. Image for Vicki S Vicki S

I SO love fall; however, living near the Florida west coast near Tampa we don't really get fall. So I pretend that the leaves are falling around late Sept and October. And pretend that it's about 60-70 degrees outside and not 90! I make myself wait to decorate until the official start of Fall when I pull out my decades old fall décor. It would be so nice to purchase a few new things and pretend that I'm sitting outside around a fire roasting marshmallows!

  10. Image for karen karen

I love those little wooden pumpkins! Your house looks beautiful and you make me smile with your humor every time I visit! Hugs, karen...

  11. Image for JILL NELSON JILL NELSON

My favorite season is summer for the warmth but fall for the decor and honeycrisp apples fresh from the orchard!

  12. Image for Melanie Winter Melanie Winter

Beautiful home tour all spruced up for fall! I too love fall, but I will admit That I am going to miss summer! It's been a good one!

  13. Image for Michelle L Michelle L

I'm most definitely a fall girl at heart. Love pumpkin spice anything, cooler weather, sweaters. cozy blankets...

  14. Image for Nancy @ Slightly Coastal Nancy @ Slightly Coastal

Such lovely inspiration as I'm getting ready to sprinkle fall around my house. For me, my favorite season is Spring. It holds my favorite holiday (even more than Christmas). I love when the flowers come out to play, the air is warm without humidity, the Jasmine wafts, and a reaffirmation of The Promise fills our hearts with peace. Just thought you could use a little He Is Risen Indeed in your day...as you sip your hot cocoa and admire your lovely fall decor. :) I've been elbows deep in painting projects which I'll share tomorrow. Have a great day friend.

  15. Image for Christina Christina

I think it's a toss up between fall and spring. I love them both because of the smells and the activity that it brings. After a long hard winter it's so nice to see new life and warmth. I love all of the flowers, the gentle breezes and the fact that you can spend lots of time outdoors after being shut inside through the harsh cold winter. However, I love fall because of the crispness in the air, wearing light jackets, the fall foliage, light blankets, festivals and the fact that Thanksgiving and Christmas aren't that far away. I dread winter but everything leading up to it just makes my heart happy.

  16. Image for Laura Laura

Summer is the most glorious of the seasons to me! I love the warmth of the sun and heading to the beach. PS - Love your blue draperies too!

  17. Image for sydney85 sydney85

Your home is absolutely beautifully done. Not too much and not too little. You do Fall wonderfully. I love the Fall season. I am usually tired of hot and humid days and being in air conditioning.

  18. Image for Denise Denise

Love your blog... so right, we're all a bit fickle with our seasons. Always looking ahead to see what's next. I blame retail stores ;)

  19. Image for Sarah Johns Sarah Johns

I love fall and can't wait to decorate. However, I have a hard time doing while it is still in the mid-90's!

  20. Image for Stefanie bishop Stefanie bishop

Love the post..inspires me to decorate for fall!! And I'm not usually really into decorating for fall so that says something :) my favorite season is by far Christmas..our Savior's birthday along with the magical feeling of Christmastime, makes it my favorite.

  21. Image for Nelson Bee Nelson Bee

Fall probably. Depends on where I'm living. In Texas Spring is the best-beautiful and warm and welcome. In Colorado, Fall is the best with the cool nights, warm days, turning leaves.

  22. Image for Lisa Lisa

I love fall too but I'm not quite done with summer yet. Also, someday I would like to be a grown up and decorate nicely like you do. I'm really not good at it but I can always dream.

  23. Image for Nancy Helen Nancy Helen

As you said, all seasons have plus and minuses, but Summer really hits a home run for me! We're a baseball family!

  24. Image for Diva Kreszl Diva Kreszl

I can so relate to your post! Call me a fickle lover but I too enjoy each season and find it hard to pick one favorite, I love each one for it's own magic but after a while I am ready to move on!

  25. Image for Libby Libby

Definitely FALL is my favorite..........after months of temps (and humidity) in the 90's, to finally feel a cool breeze and enjoy sitting outside. And I love that special light you only see in the fall, a little bit fuzzier and lower in the sky. Perfect!

  26. Image for Heather Wright Heather Wright

Now if only those fall decorations could drop the temperatures 10 degrees or so here in Nashville. Sigh. Gorgeous photos and ideas, as always!

  27. Image for Deb Wostmann Deb Wostmann

Fall has my heart and soul. I feel a sense of calm come over me that I don't sense the rest of the year. Maybe it's just that I know the holidays are coming and family will be together, but whatever it is I'm ready! Welcome Fall.

  28. Image for Leslie Leslie

Oh, my! You read a chapter from my play book. I could never live in a place without seasons changing...and yep! I'm so ready for the changes when it happens! Love your fall touches. I'm just not ready to let go of "wearing white" after Labor Day yet...just hear my mother's voice telling me to pack them away. Happy Fall, friend!

  29. Image for Marjie Marjie

Summer Summer Summer. I love the lazy days of summer. I love baseball and the beach and reading and the month of August. The kids are (were) are out of school with swim team in full swing. We have our family reunion to look forward to which comes with promises to stay in better touch with cousins. Fall is nice, winter has Christmas, and spring is bursting with new growth and flowers, but give me summer any day.

  30. Image for Joni Joni

I love fall. It has cooled down just enough to make it wonderful to be outside playing in the garden. But then...I'm like you Karianne. I enjoy the beginning of each season and the changes it brings.

  31. Image for Karen Karen

SUMMER, Baby! Shorts, flip flops, suntans, early sunrises, late sunsets, blooming flowers, fresh veggies from my garden, cocktails in the backyard... But really, all seasons are good, cuz I have my husband/best friend with whom to live through them! blessings, Karen

  32. Image for Raquel Raquel

It's a toss up between fall and spring--they both give me respite from some extremes! But let's go with fall this time!

  33. Image for Carlotta Lee Carlotta Lee

My favorite dance partner is fall. The colors, the crisp cool air, back to routine... Home Goods is my favorite place to shop for almost everything for my house-especially chotchkys. Thanks for the fall tour.

  34. Image for Andrea Andrea

Definitely fall is my favorite however I really try Try TRY to practice being content with whatever state (or season ) I'm in. Cool, crisp days and nights with amazing leaves changing color, pumpkins, plaids, cozy sweaters and steaming mugs of hot tea or cocoa around an outdoor fire. It's new every time it rolls around again!

  35. Image for Rhonda S. Rhonda S.

Fall is the best and my absolute favorite time of year! Wonderful colors to decorate with and hot chocolate!

  36. Image for Liz R. Liz R.

My favorite has always been summer, but as I've gotten older my heart has softened more to Fall. The beautiful colors, the cool days with boots and warm socks and scarves, and the pumpkin everything.

  37. Image for Beth Beard Beth Beard

I love Fall; the gorgeous colors, open windows, and decorating for the holidays. Your home is decorated beautifully for Fall!

  38. Image for Wendy D. Wendy D.

My favorite season has always been Fall. There is something about the change in the light, cooler temperatures, the colors of the season, the warmth of cozy fires and all the other wonderful things associated with the season that speaks the most to my soul. Happy Fall to everyone!!!!

  39. Image for Babette Thurston Babette Thurston

My favorite season is Summer!! Now most people when they find out where I live (South Florida) are like what? Really? Yes!!! I get it. I can go to the beach anytime! But when Summer comes, we can relax, stay at the beach till it's dark, go to our farm for weeks with no wifi, it is a time to just breathe!!!!!! I will admit that I'm looking forward to cooler weather which happens maybe December if we're lucky but more like January! I do love Fall and Winter, but Summer is where my soul renews itself and if I do nothing all day well that's a special day!!

  40. Image for Robbin Robbin

FALL FALL FALL!!!!! I love them all, but FALL is my absolute favorite!!! Your home is beautiful by the way!! If I lived closer I'd invite myself over for a cup of hot chocolate!!!

  41. Image for Robin Stephens Robin Stephens

Fall is my absolute, most favorite, coveted season. I endure spring and summer....but adore fall and winter. Call me weird-o; it will not hurt one bit! I put up a fall tree (as in decorate a Christmas tree with gourds, garland and such) and am always the first in the cul-de-sac to change the wreath from fuschia roses to orange and yellow and brown this-and-that. No apologies. Ever. Thanks for the cute post....and for a chance to shop for more fall decor!

  42. Image for Tracy Smith Tracy Smith

Fall......beautiful colors, not too warm, not too cold, bonfires, hayrides.....what's not to love!!! Your home looks amazing!!!

  43. Image for Kathy Kathy

Your home is so beautifully decorated. I live in the midwest and summer is my favorite season. I am having a hard time saying goodbye to it!

  44. Image for Babette Thurston Babette Thurston

Hi KariAnne, Where did you get the plate with the leaf on it? Do you have a source link? It is the simplistic yet elegant look I'm going for my dining table!! Love your beautiful home!!!

  45. Image for Amy Amy

Fall is my favorite season because thanksgiving is my favorite holiday...trying to just enjoy the day and not rush the season...

  46. Image for Ashley Ashley

Fall is absolutely my favorite season, but I know what you mean about longing for the next one around the corner! It's a challenge to pause and savor the time you're in, but it's a challenge worth accepting. Your home is a stunning inspiration!

  47. Image for Shawn Shawn

My favorite season is the changing one, that is, whichever season is approaching. I like the change more than the rest of it.

  48. Image for Julie Julie

I always love you beautifully textural interiors with hints of seasonal color, KariAnne. Once again, you've created a beautiful tour!

  49. Image for Diane Diane

Hi , I love your home decor for fall. Makes me want to drag mine out and get ready for fall. But I am still putting away summer things.love your blog.... Diane G.

  50. Image for Carol Henry Carol Henry

Happy Fall y'all! Fall is my favorite season. I love the crispness of the morning air. The scents are pleasant and the colors are glorious. I love to decorate with pumpkins. I have quite a collection.

  51. Image for Cheryl Bell Cheryl Bell

Fall is it for me, I think with Spring being a close runner up. Living in the Texas summer heat & humidity makes me yearn for those cooler days of Autumn. We don't get much color change in our foliage, the leaves just dry up from the heat and fall off. So, I look to all the colors of fall to decorate my home inside and out with. Really looking forward to those cooler nights when we can finally light a fire in our outdoor fireplace and snuggle up with a cozy throw and something hot to drink. Love, love, love your blog, so very inspiring! Happy Fall Y'all !!

  52. Image for JanL JanL

spring is my favorite, although fall runs a close second. Spring because it brings back all my memories of South Carolina spring flowers, and my mother's enjoyment of them. Memories!

  53. Image for Christine Christine

Karianne, I am so ready for cooler weather! Michigan was so humid I felt shut in for the most part just trying to stay cool. Bring on Christmas! My favorite time of year.

  54. Image for Pam Pam

Fall is my most favorite season of the year, hands down, bar none, I have eyes for no one else :) Now I'm off to HomeGoods to see what I can find!

  55. Image for Moriah C Moriah C

Your home is so beautiful! I think I'm like you in that I'm so excited for the next season to come, as by the time it does, with the current season I'm so done. But I'll go with fall. Still warm days. Less humidity. Time in the kitchen with the kids. Love apples, Brach's pumpkins, adorable vests, and "to die for" boots :). And am thankful for the fall-like seasonal decor that isn't just for Thanksgiving. Thanks for the giveaway! A Home Goods is opening near me 9/18. Yay!

  56. Image for Winnie Winnie

My favorite is summer - maybe because it stays lighter longer as I love being outdoors. But like you I fall in love with all seasons or at least bits of them! Your decorations are classic and more upscale which greatly enhance your lovely home! Now I'm motivated to get my fall going here !

  57. Image for Kathy Lahr Kathy Lahr

YES.....fall.....my favorite season! It is my favorite season to decorate my home. I use all my favorites, pumpkins, pillows, throws to cozy up our spaces. Your neutral fall decor is beautiful! As for Homegoods, I absolutely love that place!

  58. Image for Vickie Macfarlane Vickie Macfarlane

My favorite season, like many, is Fall. The deep rich colors and the changes in the temperature to warm days rather than hot and cooler nights. The air smells and feels different in the fall. I just really love everything to do with fall. I love in Houston, Texas, and we do not see the seasons quite as defined as most states, but we do have fall, it just takes a little longer to arrive. I love to decorate for fall and often get carried away. Just can't help myself. Just want to say, you home is just lovely. Thank you for sharing!

  59. Image for Maryann Conner Maryann Conner

Atumn! So excited it's almost here. We lived in FL for 5 years, and while I miss it very much, I am so happy to have fall weather again.

  60. Image for Debbie Debbie

I love spring. Fall leads in to winter and the snow and the cold, but spring brings so many wonderful things to the garden.

  61. Image for Mindy Mindy

It is hard to choose a favorite because I love having the changes of each season. If I had to choose, My favorite would be spring. I love the colors of spring, the new life all around, the promises of new beginnings. It is refreshing to see the new leaves, beautiful spring flowers and the warmth after the winter. God is so good to give us the beauty of each new season.

  62. Image for Sandra Vigil Sandra Vigil

I am never disappointed when I read your blog. Your fall tour is lovely and inspiring. I am anxious to begin decorating for fall since it is my favorite time of the year.

  63. Image for Kimberly Kimberly

Fall. Fall! FALL!! My answer is unequivocally and inexorably Autumn! We finally get a reprieve from the heat at some point (not yet), and I can feel the nip in the air. Then I know that my favorite season has arrived and I am in for two seasons of getting cozy. Sweat is not conducive to cozy. UGH!

  64. Image for Morgan Lewis Morgan Lewis

My favorite season is FALL! I love the cooler (not cold) weather, football, changing leaves, pumpkin everything, boots and scarves, apple picking - all of it! Of course, here in SC it takes longer to feel like fall, but we've had a few consecutive days in the 80s this weekend and I now have the itch. Time to decorate! (even if it will be 95 degrees again soon).

  65. Image for Linda Linda

Ahhhh...love Home Goods...and Fall...and your descriptions of each season! Isn't it the truth? Just when we get "settled in" we begin thinking about the next season. I'm glad I live in an area where I can enjoy the 4 seasons to their fullest. I was with my daughter last weekend and we saw this amazing spider weaving an enormous beautiful web. I remember my dad telling me it is one of the first signs of Autumn. I haven't been the same since. ;-) But first I have to clean house! I can't decorate a dirty house. (and maybe I need to make a trip to Home Goods)

  66. Image for Peg Peg

Because it is so fleeting here in the Northeast, summer is by far my favorite. Picnics, lakes, swimming, tan lines, hikes, bicycles, cookouts, long nights, and who could forget ice cream! : )

  67. Image for Ellen Ellen

Fall has always been my favorite season. There is nothing else that can compare to the beautiful colored leaves and nature's bounty of Autumn in all of its glory. The holidays of this season are so much fun no matter your age. One never gets tired of Fall- except, maybe after a lot of raking the fallen leaves. Beautiful Fall decorations- love everyone of them!

  68. Image for Jane Jane

I love Spring! Saying goodbye to a cold and dreary Winter as tulips and daffodils bloom najes my heart smile.

  69. Image for Angela D McAlister Angela D McAlister

Hands down, autumn is my favorite season with cooler weather, brilliant foliage, and that cerulean blue autumn sky. Autumn is truly the most wonderful time of the year.

  70. Image for Heather Heather

I absolutely love fall!! The weather, the smells, the colors, the sweaters..... I could go on and on! I always have to stop myself from getting my fall decorations out before Labor Day!

  71. Image for Gail Medeiros Gail Medeiros

Beautiful home with just enough pops of color! Spring is my favorite season but fall is a close second especially since it contains my birthday :-)

  72. Image for megan megan

I think Fall is great but I sort of resent fall for bringing us closer to the winter. I would have to pick summer as my fave.

  73. Image for courtney courtney

Girl!!! You always knock my socks off!! I love your home tour and all the gorgeous fall touches you have added!! And we think alike on some of these elements ;) So excited to be on this tour with you! xo

  74. Image for Cecilia Cecilia

Haha, I'm so like you. I get tired of one season and can't wait for the next one! Fall is definitely my most favorite season of all...but then I am a fall baby! ;-) Your home looks so lovely (and to be honest, I thought you were getting ready to tell us to love our home, not someone else's. Ha, your message was a lot more fun.) Happy almost Fall, KariAnne! Hugs, Cecilia

  75. Image for Teresa Peters Teresa Peters

when asked "what is your favorite season?" Like you I love them all .... at first! then the new wears off and I begin to look forward to the next one. Sometimes I even JUMP ahead...

  76. Image for Jenny Jenny

At the beginning of every season, I am ALL ABOUT that season ... and in that moment it is my favorite. Then, as that season winds down, I can't wait for the next. I think Autumn is the prettiest season to decorate for, though.

  77. Image for MaryE MaryE

I think fall would have to be my favorite... But now that the kids are in school I think summer might be my favorite... Fall for temperature, summer for relaxed family time together... I'm super decisive

  78. Image for Lisa K. Lisa K.

Fall is my very favorite season! I am especially looking forward to it this year since it's been such a hot summer. Thanks for the inspiration! Now I'm going to go decorate my house for Fall ?.

  79. Image for karen karen

OOOOH la la. That giveaway...smells very good! Your house looks so great, crispy , crunchy clean , too. I like the back of the door leading upstairs, unpainted. Kinda says "I'm Special. You can't touch this.ha"

  80. Image for JudyCinNC JudyCinNC

Karianne - your words so inspire me to look at things so differently. Loving fall as much as I do mostly has to do with the colors of fall and apples - finally some fresh ones - and I head right to the farmer's market for all the sights and sounds I love. Everyone just has a spring in their step when a cool day arrives without much notice or fanfare. I do embrace the season so tightly and somehow I move much easier into Christmas. My fall is my Thanksgiving and then it just changes color. I could really use some quality therapy in Home Goods as I usually can only get there 1 x per month, hee, hee. My Mr. Wonderful just grins and bears it. JudyC

  81. Image for Laura Heggie Laura Heggie

My favorite Season is FALL! I love the cooler weather and comfy sweaters. Winter is a close second. :) Your house is my favorite house/style of all the home blogs I follow. It is simply perfect.

  82. Image for Cindy Brown Cindy Brown

Oh, Karianne, I love FALL but, alas, I live in Florida. Everyone who knows me knows that I am grumpy in September because all of the stores have out their pumpkins and scarecrows, etc., and I decorate my house with my gourds and grapevine pumpkins but IT IS STILL 95 DEGREES OUTSIDE!!! When my father retired from teaching ROTC at Murray State and moved to Florida, it was the dumbest move of his life (he agrees). But once I retire (in 6 years!), I am so hopeful I can move back to my seasons and my wonderful Fall. Enjoy and roast a marshmallow for me, won't ya?

  83. Image for Karri Karri

Hey there!! Favorite season is Autumn!! Ohh, and the winter... I love a great Christmas tree... and then spring.... I love a great springy-wreath...green grass, bunnies... Summer... Love her too... Do I really have to pick just one?? Fall it is... But I love 'em all!!

  84. Image for Candice Candice

I have to say, I love your new blue rug and intend to steal that idea (and rug)! I read your blog everyday and even on the days when I shed a tear I know a smile will follow. Btw, I share your "pain": my middle name is Karin (car-in) but always pronounced Care-in. ☺️

  85. Image for Bonnie Thompson Bonnie Thompson

Its hard for me to choose between Fall and Spring. I love the colors of Fall especially the brilliant blue skies.

  86. Image for Debra Bartels Debra Bartels

I'm a lover of fall too. Can't help it. Leaves changing, football, cozy blanket to cuddle in while reading, hot cider to sip and more. Goodbye summer!

  87. Image for norma vaughn norma vaughn

my most favorite season of the year is fall and early winter. there is time to cook holiday food, decorate, and read blogs, decorating books, and hit some of the cute little shops around town.

  88. Image for Jackie Eckert Jackie Eckert

Amazing Blog KariAnne! You always bring a smile to my face! I love fall I middle Tennessee! I'm a California transplant and the fall colors feel like an early Christmas!

  89. Image for Kelly Kelly

I really do enjoy all the seasons. Living in New England though, winter usually stays around a little too long. :)

  90. Image for Gee Gee

Girl, you just described me!!! Sigh. I am always in luv with the season until I am not! Until I am ready to move on and it is not. Dragging... dragging it's feet and me on a hurry to move on. I did tell myself that this season will be different. I'll live in the moment. And I am trying. Biting my nail, but trying!!! Happy now!!

I think summer---but I love ALL seasons---just winter should be really short---like Christmas Eve & Christmas Day! :-)

Hi KariAnn - Well since I don't have any seasons per se, (southern Cal), I will be traveling to TN this fall...hope they have a season for me to see ;-)

  93. Image for Michelle Michelle

I feel the exact same way you do about the seasons. We are a strange lot, we humans, aren't we? I'd be willing to bet 99% of us feel the exact same way you do, too. We think we're tired of the season we're in but when it comes back around the following year, we're so happy to see it! What I never tire of seeing is your house, Karianne. I just love the fall decorations and how easily the rooms transition for each season. You've come a long way from the flowered couch, my friend :-)

  94. Image for Mindy Mindy

I love all the Fall neutrals and the way you wove them throughout your home - so pretty! Also love the weaving of the seasons in your post. Grateful for the changing of each one.

  95. Image for Cathy J Cathy J

Love your selections Kari Anne. I really must visit Homegoods and check out their fall goods. My favorite season is summer. I just love the lazy crazy days of summer. And I really really hate being cold!!

  96. Image for Kathy Kathy

Love your beautiful home dressed fo any season. The Homegoods pumpkins are amazing. Need to look for some rustic ones like these that complement a neutral decor. I love Fall

  97. Image for Mildred Hoppe Mildred Hoppe

Fall is my favorite season because of all the color, the pumpkins, corn mazes, fire in the fire pit, smores, falling leaves, woodsmoke....the list is endless.

  98. Image for Dotte Dotte

Fall , baby!!! I love the idea of crisp weather, beautiful colored leaves and the smell of football in the air.... It reminds me of when I lived up north.

  99. Image for Betsy Betsy

Give me summer days, ice cream runs, fresh corn on the cob and tomato sandwiches, hot dogs on the grill, boat rides, crabs fresh from the crab pots...summer on the Chesapeake Bay is the best.

  100. Image for Sarah P Sarah P

I'm normally a fall and winter kind of girl. I love sweaters, the colors, the cool air... But the older my children get, the more I start to feel a need and longing for summer! No homework, later bed times, no lunchbox packing. Every season is my favorite when it comes

  101. Image for Melissa E Melissa E

My favorite season is summer. Days are long, bright and productive, flowers and their beautiful colors are everywhere you look. I love the painting of oranges and reds of fall but I quickly yearn for summer's return.

  102. Image for Randi Randi

I am not a fan of winter, so I like to bring the other seasons inside with some color. For me, a good pop of color brings a smile to my face...and in winter it keeps me holding on until March! PS...you have a lovely home!

  103. Image for deb dench deb dench

The colors of fall are so vibrant and attention I getting. Both fall and spring are my favorite seasons. Soft spring and vibrant fall.

  104. Image for Terry Moore Terry Moore

My favorite season is summer. I love the heat...we live in Illinois and it doesn't get too hot for long. I love the gardens and flowers and the nature that comes back to life.

  105. Image for Gail Gail

I need a really good fall picture for a flag.. Would love to have a full on of the spider, the whole picture. Hope all is well. I love the oranges, reds, and yellows. I am originally from up North so I love the fall

  106. Image for Julie Maslanka Julie Maslanka

My favorite season is Fall because it's my birthday season and I love the cool, crisp days and the beautiful vibrant colors all around.

  107. Image for Shelley Shelley

Your home is beautiful in every season. I love late summer/early fall. She change of color-ever so subtle, as tho everything is painted with water colors. Happy Fall, Shelley

  108. Image for Bonnie Bonnie

Fall is my Favorite Season!! I look forward to it every year. Thank you for your beautiful home tour. I love seeing pictures of how you've decorated; they are truly inspiring to me. Home Goods is my favorite store. When I have some extra time, I love to go in there and just browse and dream :)

  109. Image for Kathy Kathy

I love fall! I was married on a beautiful fall day. I love the sunshine and crisp air, the crunch of fallen leaves, the colors, sweaters, that first fire, and that the dog had a little more pep in his step. I hate to say goodbye to summer, but I truly do love fall!

  110. Image for mary mary

I love them all and look forward to the changes in decorating, food and chores. Summer is the hardest to let go and fall always feels like a new year for me.

  111. Image for Julie Veldman Julie Veldman

I love every season and celebrating their arrival by changing out my decor. Love you blue and white drapes! Please comment on where you purchased them!!! Thanks :)

  112. Image for Linda F. Linda F.

Fall is my favorite, by far! It is so hot in the summer where I live and I'm so over it by mid-June! Fall is such a welcome relief.

  113. Image for GinaE GinaE

Hands down FALL is my favorite season! Fall has the colors I use in my home all year. As always, your home looks lovely all decked out in fall finery.

  114. Image for Sheila F Sheila F

Although I love-appreciate-enjoy each season for what it is and for what it brings... summer is my fave. Sunshine, fresh picked bouquets, an abundance of homegrown fruits and veggies. Swimming, boating, jet skis, gathering rocks by the bay under the hot sun... with a cool breeze. BBQ's, family reunions, swimming pools, children laughing and playing. Picnics, Farmers Market, canning peaches, making jelly, sun roof always open, no school! No doubt about it. If I could... I'd choose a permanent dance card with summer!

  115. Image for Tess S. Tess S.

Autumn is my VERY favorite!!! Your decorating is so subtle and smooth! I just love it! Can't wait to get my decor out and get started!!!

  116. Image for Christine Roppel Christine Roppel

How Lovely....sitting in my office driking coffee....wishing I was seated in your cozy room. Oh, may I please use that oh so soft looking throw ...the one there...that's right, the one in the basket. If I drop off to snooze, don't let me snore. I know I'll be dreaming of a home like yours...only my own.....one day! Thanks for taking me away for a few minutes :) Best wishes for happiness and health!

  117. Image for Chels Chels

Oh, your house looks so beautiful!!! I love the simplicity of everything! Fall is my favorite season - we looked at Joann's yesterday for some fake large pumpkins but they are so expensive!! Even with a coupon! :( I would love to win this gift card - it could help with my updated fall decor a lot, lol!

  118. Image for Sweetshade Lane Sweetshade Lane

Autumn is my most favorite. I feel alive after a torpor of summer heat. My creativity awakens. I want to bake, don boots, leaf peep, sip spiced cider with some Sailor Jerry's in it, eat pumpkin bread with my morning coffee, bake Dutch apple pie, plan for Halloween and Thanksgiving...so many opportunities to enjoy. A harvest to be grateful for. A time for reflection and industry. Your home captures so many of these things. I love it.

  119. Image for Phyllis Phyllis

My favorite season is the end of spring when summer is near. Flowers are blooming, the air smells sweet, and the promise of long days of light make my heart beat faster.

  120. Image for Lisa Lisa

My favorite season to be out and about is summer but I love to decorate for Fall. Orange just brings such life to a room. Pumpkins and leaves add such color! Loved your home tour today!

  121. Image for Michelle Michelle

I just love your home, and how warm and enveloping it makes me feel, even through your camera's lens. Beautiful Autumn touches to welcome nature's new season!

  122. Image for Claudia A. Claudia A.

Girl you are so fickle! Personally I love spring and fall. Spring for rebirth and renewal, fall for nesting and the colors. Summer and winter I like initially but I can't stand temps too cold or too hot and I can't stand it if they drag on too long. I guess I'm fickle too.

  123. Image for michele michele

I LOVE THE SEASON OF AUTUMN!!!!! i love the pumpkins and coolness and the leaves and the pine cones and everything about it!!!!

  124. Image for Sheila F Sheila F

Love your fall decor! In one of your photos, I'm seeing your staircase is beautifuy finished with bare wood steps. In another photo, the same stairway is covered with what looks like a thick sisal or jute? Is this a temporary covering? It looks very custom and looks beautiful on the staircase. I'd love to hear more about it and where we might find it. Thank you!

  125. Image for Mary Mary

I love the changing seasons and the colors of fall are just so beautiful in the area where I live! Your home is beautiful!

  126. Image for Kari Cox Kari Cox

Winter all the way, although I do always look forward to dragging out the glorious Fall decorations. Your house looks AMAZING (as usual)!! Thanks for the opportunity! :)

  127. Image for slg slg

Give me a big old sweater, a pair of faded jeans, a tailgate with friends and their kids, and a Friday night football game. Life. is. good.

  128. Image for Jenn Dynys Jenn Dynys

This is so true. I love all the seasons, but Summer is the only one that makes my heart ache when it leaves. I think because of the swimming and the free spirit with the children. I know the next summer will be different, each one is and there is no going back. Not to be so melancholy, I mean change is good too, but you know what I mean with the tug at the heart when it goes.

  129. Image for Stephanie Brown Stephanie Brown

Oh some many pretty things ️sweet gal but ️loving the magnolia and Yep hydrageas still! One reason why I am proud to be from and live in Kentucky is because all four seasons are celebrated and enjoyed! But the older I get yes I admit truly a summer girl as I love sunning like a turtle in my pool trying to soak up enough Rays to store for the gloom of winter. Falls are fantastic but truly don't last long while winter lingers and is long. But love all four season and yes have even began decorating for fall.. Trying to get up and enjoy before basketball starts! Might even put up Christmas early.. Oops going to strive to savor each season.?

  130. Image for Cheryl Cheryl

Spring is my favorite season, but I'm so thankful I live in the midwest and have such varying seasons. There's something wonderful about each of them.

  131. Image for Cynthia Peralta Cynthia Peralta

FALL! Chilly weather, scarves, apple picking on a sunny, beautiful, crisp fall day at Warwick Winery (kids & hubby searching for the best, juciest apples while momma sips on vino), making a crocpot apple butter with that days bounty, PSL from Starbucks, carving pumpkins, mums, and everything ORANGE. To name a few :)

  132. Image for Kathy Kathy

Thanks for the invite, I've wiped my feet and now I'm dancing through your beautiful home soaking in all the Fall delight. KariAnne you never disappoint...., your home, stories and most of all YOU are amazing. I love all the seasons to be quite frank (maybe just a quick two step with Winter though ?) Thanks dear bloggie friend for the eye candy.... Now I'm moon walking on your shiny wood floors out the door until next time !!! Kathy ?

  133. Image for Susan Susan

I think you better step aside, Ms. KariAnne...fall is MINE...ALL mine...you get your own season! Whoopsies...sorry for being edgy there, but I am soooooo done with summer, too...it's just not done with me...it's 93 F here today and is supposed to go up to 104 F tomorrow...I think the heat is making me balmy! Oh...okay...to be absolutely truthful, I was born balmy, but no one has to know that, right? Unless I tell everyone like I did just now...hehe! See, I told you I was balmy! But, I digress... Your home is just as beautiful as always, KariAnne...I'll never miss and opportunity to tour Thistlewood Farms...I always see something new to crush on! I just adore all of the fall flourishes you've added to your gorgeous decor, too...those wooden pumpkins are fantastic...I wish we had a Home Goods here! I never thought I'd say this, but I love your little wicker spider and web...I'm normally not a fan of the creepy crawlers, but I'd have him in my home anytime! And that wee little red pumpkin...he's just the cutest thing EVER! But, my very favourite fall item in your home has to be those gorgeous orange pillows...orange and I have a thing going...I'd happily have those pillows in my home year round! Thank you for welcoming us into your jaw-droppingly gorgeous home, KariAnne, and for giving us a much-needed shot of fall...I needed that respite from the heat as well as the inspiration to stay present and enjoy what I have before it slips away! Happy (almost) Fall, KariAnne! :)

  134. Image for Angie M Angie M

Oh my this hit home. I can easily say that Spring and Fall are equally my favorite seasons. Spring with it's beautiful bright flowers and Fall with it's gorgeous colorful leaves. The cooler weather that makes being outside more often a must. However, like you near the end of one season I'm usually very ready for the next. I guess we are seasonally fickle...

  135. Image for Ren Jetton Ren Jetton

Autumn is definitely my favorite season and I love decorating for it indoors and out. Now that I'm retired, I can actually shop at Homegoods early in the morning, when the new merchandise is being brought out! So much fun!! I purchased a pillow like the khaki one in your foyer chair for a sofa-warming gift for my daughter!

  136. Image for Rosalie McCreary Rosalie McCreary

I just love how simple yet wonderful all your fall ornaments are scattered "thoughtfully" around your home!!! I love fall! It's my favorite season. When we moved to New Mexico's hot and dry climate from the cool and wet of southeast Alaska, I embraced the warm and dry. But it wasn't long before I yearned for a rainy day or two! Variety is the spice of life and changing dance partners (seasonwise) is a good thing! It also allows us to change the colors of the ornaments in our homes!!! Love your tour! Thank you for the giveaway! Have a great rest of your week!

  137. Image for Candace Lee Candace Lee

Although I love every new season, I'm slightly partial to summer with my toes in the sand. But who can resist Fall's beautiful display or Winter's glorious celebration of Christmas?

  138. Image for Erin Prohaska Erin Prohaska

Never gets old looking at your home! :) Favorite season is tough for me...I love being warm and all things summer fun...nothing beats the excitement of knowing a cozy fall is coming my way though...pumpkins, boots, flannel, pumpkin patch pics of my kids and knowing the holiday season is upon us (but not too exhausted yet from the actual holiday season going into high gear)! :) Love this blog, love Homegoods! ?

  139. Image for Becky Becky

Love your way of writing! And your lovely way of putting things together! Love the one your with and dance til the next season taps your shoulder and says " may I have this dance, please? " ?

  140. Image for Jennifer Merritt Jennifer Merritt

My heart will always belong to the majestic splendor of fall; there's something magical in the air. The crunchy leaves underfoot, the crispness of the morning, the squirrels chattering away nesting, the scent of wood smoke in the air, the beautiful show nature gives us among the trees and my beloved pumpkins make my soul sing. Yes, I'm glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. It's my favorite color.

  141. Image for Nancie Nancie

My favorite season is fall. But I miss fall so much. You see , I live in Florida where we actually skip over fall. It's still 90 degrees here and probably it won't get cooler till December or maybe even January. I dream about fall though, and how it use to be when I lived in Ohio. Cooler temps, longer days, love the color of the leaves changing, ( except when I had to rake them)! Football, cozy fire, hot chocolates, carving pumpkins, and my list can go on! I still will decorate A little inside when Sept. 22 arrives. Your fall home is beautiful, Kari Ann! I love you blog sweet friend! Thanks for the giveaway! Enjoy the colors of fall!

A clever & entertaining homage to Autumn. Your gift for design is well-represented as is your talent for inclusion of your blog's fans. May this season be a wonderful one for you and your partner. Nancy I.

  144. Image for Betsy Betsy

Yep.....I'm right there with you! I love the change of seasons and I can't imagine not having them. I adore Homegoods but I try to control myself........only 1 or 2 visits a week : ) !

  145. Image for Patricia Patricia

My favorite favorite is summer. It's just right here in Seattle, not too hot and no mosquitoes. We don't even have air conditioners in our houses or screens on our windows. But second favorite is Fall. Because my birthday is in September. And Halloween. Any season that celebrates free candy is okay by me.

  146. Image for Constance Constance

I love the time of year called "Indian Summer". You know when you get a taste of Fall, but yet still some warmth of Summer. Some Fall leaves, but still some of Summer's flowers. No season, yet tow combined!

  147. Image for Eileen Eileen

Can't help it, love them all! Whenever we talk of moving out of New York the first question is always - are there seasons?

  148. Image for Margie Margie

A friend shared your blog with me; what a bright spot this is! I enjoy the changing of the seasons, but I especially love Indian Summer with its cool mornings and evenings, shed your sweater during the day and enjoy the sunshine.

  149. Image for Kaye Walsh Kaye Walsh

It is hard to pick between fall & summer as my favorite season. I love spring for the rebirth of the flowers, trees & shrubs. The birthing of the spring calves and lambs ..planting the vegetable garden and the annuals in the flower beds. The spring rains that cleanses & freshens the earth but...fall is glorious with the colorful trees & shrubs getting ready to go to sleep, to hibernate until spring. The smell of burning leaves, children dressed up for Halloween, Thanksgiving & the gathering of friends & family. I guess I love them both. We live in the country & both seasons are breathtaking.

  150. Image for Sue Sue

Always love being invited into your beautiful home. I think it's a happy home, full of happy people. I can't begin to express how much I look forward to your posts. Thank you! Love you!

  151. Image for Kristin Kristin

My favorite season is definitely pumpkin carving, football, taco soup, campfire, cozy blankets, smores, cool nights, town festivals, trick-or-treating, chili cook off, pie-eating, crafting, pumpkin spice latte, lazy weekends, jackets season! Love me some fall! And I REALLY wish there was a Homegoods near me! Come on Homegoods! We desperately need you in Tulsa or Wichita!

  152. Image for Lanita Anderson Lanita Anderson

Fall is by far my favorite season of the year! I love the crisp, cool weather, the beautiful colors of the leaves changing, everything pumpkin, football, wearing scarves, decorating for the fall season, you name it!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us....... Blessings to you!

  153. Image for Linda Linda

I guess I would have to say it would be Spring ! Just like the Lord bringing forth everything anew! Just like it will be for all Christians on that glorious morning when our Lord comes back for us !

  154. Image for Penny Penny

It's a toss up between Spring and Fall, love Spring because every thing is new & fresh, Love Fall because everything is crisp & cool.

  155. Image for Melissa Leach Melissa Leach

In the Spring, I say my favorite time of year is Spring. In the Fall, I say Fall is my favorite. Both season's are new beginnings.

  156. Image for N. Plamp N. Plamp

I love your beautiful home and your writing style paints such a vivid picture! I live in Louisville, Kentucky and the only season that I truly love here any more is Fall. Summer's have become so harsh, spring somewhat nonexistant, and winters like a box of chocolates! Fall with all it's fancy colors, football, trips to the pumpkin patch, fires, and that first deliciously yummy pot of chili? rates #1 in my book! Not to mention I can start wearing clothes that disguise certain parts of my body that shall go unnamed?

  157. Image for Amy K Amy K

Fall is by far my favorite Season. I like the others, but to pick a fav - it would have to be Fall. Here in MI I wish it lasted just a tad longer. We are already having wonderfully cool evenings but the days - like today are in the 80's. I'm ready for it to go and bring on the 60's for a while. Love you style Karianne!

  158. Image for Tammy Tammy

I"m torn between spring and fall. I love both because thats when I can plant my garden and its cooler and the humidity is much lower.

  159. Image for Diane Westbrook Diane Westbrook

Hello! Favorite season? Hmmmm...well, I do love Fall due to the crispy air and the leaves falling...bonfires? oh, yes and Apples baking..Halloween, football etc.....Not so much Winter following on the steps of Fall, however! You have such a lovely home and you are blessed with talent, as well....Thanks for your blog and Thanks to you and Homegoods for the exciting giveaway!! woo hooo

  160. Image for Amanda @ The Kolb Corner Amanda @ The Kolb Corner

Fall is most definitely my favorite season. Growing up in the midwest I always looked forward to the crisp air, and the leaves changing colors. Sadly I miss out on a lot of that in Texas, but it's still my favorite just the same.

  161. Image for Mary Stegemiller Mary Stegemiller

Absolutely Winter, for all the reasons you said. Cozy up with a good book and a cup of tea. Heaven !!!!!

  162. Image for Sherry Myers Sherry Myers

I am in love with the wheat filled buckets by the stairs! Gorgeous! So complimentary of the stair carpet runner. Fall is my favorite of the four seasons and I love its fancy name, Autumn. And where else would anyone want to shop for autumn goodies than HomeGoods?!

  163. Image for Diane Walters Diane Walters

What's not to love about each of the seasons!? Always love what you do and how you present your decor to us accompanied by a story...I so enjoy this blog!

  164. Image for Loryl Loryl

Fall is my definite favorite! I love the colors, temperature and food! I was just at Home Goods yesterday and bought some fun fall stuff. I said I wouldn't buy another pumpkin but I couldn't resist. I also bought a wooden sign, decorative plates, and candy sprinkles for fall baking. We have a store right in town and usually visit once a week. My hubby likes shopping there too!!

  165. Image for angela angela

fall or autumn as ilike to say is always been my favorite. i am sorry but i hate summer, i live in alabama and its too hot to go out and enjoy all the great holidays that come in summertime. so i look forward it, short though it is. all year.

  166. Image for Kathleen Kathleen

Love "Winter" ... in quotes because we live in Texas! I love Christmas and yes, cooler weather ~ as cool as it can get here!? I do envy those who get to experience snow without a layer of hazardous ice beneath! But I must say that Fall (and even those other two seasons) follow close behind ~ because of all the "Seasonal goodies" you create and display in your gorgeous home for each!

  167. Image for Lesley G Lesley G

FALL! without a doubt! The last vestiges of summer as hot days give way to cool nights....you snuggle more, you cuddle under the blankets more....you drink cocoa and cheer on the kiddos as red leaves sweep across the soccer fields....and then the first flurry of snow (the kind that tracks the bunny in the yard, but doesn't stick to the driveway)....Fall....always Fall!

  168. Image for Jeanne Jeanne

Lovely home tour. I am in New England and some trees have already started to turn. Soon my woods will be green and gold. Thank you for this opportunity. Love your writing, Kari Anne.

  170. Image for Kristin Hunt Kristin Hunt

I absolutely love fall. I love the deep blue Colorado skies and the yellow Aspen. I love all the fall colors in decorating and to burn cinnamon candles!

  171. Image for Annie Annie

I love summer, the sun, the beach, the late evenings on the back patio, longer days, delicious mornings with a cup of tea waiting for the sun to rise, just the best! Thanks for brightening my day with your stories Karianne :)

  172. Image for Brenda Brenda

The warm days and crisp cool nights of fall wind my clock!!! The wonderful colors and the smells are icing on my pumpkin cake.

  173. Image for Diane L. Diane L.

Fall. Definitely fall. Fall seems to hit the five senses like no other season. Not only the cooler temps, but that smell in the air, the beauty and the crunch of the leaves all combined with the taste of pumpkin and spice are the perfect combination for pure happiness.

  174. Image for Karen A. Karen A.

My favorite season is Spring when everything awakens in such beauty! Love your beautiful home and your stories!

  175. Image for Sharon Sharon

My heart is torn between fall and spring. I love fall for the easy decorating everywhere. But spring is so special because of the outside activities. Everything is fresh and new.

  176. Image for Marilyn Marilyn

My favorite season is Fall. The colors are beautiful. Walking with the crunch of the fallen leaves under your shoes. The aroma of burning leaves. Not to mention the cool, crisp air. Thank you for the giveaway. Marilyn

I (heart) FALL the most! The cooler temps are such a welcome relief from the hot AZ temps! Plus I love the the coziness FALL brings, too!

Love your decor, especially the spider web and spider! My favorite season is Spring, but Fall comes in at a very close second.

  179. Image for Debra Brown Debra Brown

Love your blog and love love Home Goods. The nearest Home Goods is an hour away from my house, but a new one is being built 20 minutes away. I'm so excited I can hardly wait for it to open.

  180. Image for Linda Southworth Linda Southworth

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love decorating with all the gorgeous pumpkins and have a few out already. I am trying to wait a few weeks before setting a few more pieces out. I already made a HomeGoods run and have really cute placemats now in a grey/off white with a grey pumpkin. Cute!

  181. Image for Gracia Gilbertson Gracia Gilbertson

Beautiful job once again decorating your warm, cheery, and light filled home for fall! Though there are things I do love about fall...the crisp mornings, the turning leaves, pumpkin everything...I am a summer girl at heart!

  182. Image for Becky Becky

I love fall!! The gorgeous colors, first taste of warm apple cider, air cool enough to wear a sweater, warm fires. Can't get enough of it!

My husband would say fall, but I have to say spring. There's just something about the first gardening session in the spring that fills my heart so well.

  185. Image for Jennifer Creviston Jennifer Creviston

Oh my! My favorite season is Autumn! <3 I love wearings boots and jeans! I'm just hoping the weather won't be sweltering here in Eastern Carolina like it has been. Thank you for sharing the tour of your amazing home!

Autumn is my favorite season. I love cool crisp days and fresh air and orange leaves plus pumpkin pies..

  189. Image for Sherri M Sherri M

Fall is my favorite. It's still so hot and humid in my neck of the woods. So ready for cooler temps. I did get my decorating done this past weekend. May not be ready for fall outside but I sure am inside. Your home is gorgeous.

  190. Image for Debra Peiffer Debra Peiffer

WOW!! It took a long time to get to the bottom and post. For me Spring and Fall are a tie as favorites. I have been procrastinating bringing the fall colors out in my home. It is September, what color is September? It is not Fall yet, and not Summer either. Alas your beautiful home and inspiration have tempted me to give September a miss and jump with both boots in! Thanks, thanks a lot...now September is gone, and longing for Orange October is in my heart! And yes, I do understand that if it takes ten minutes to get to the bottom of the page of my old iPad, only to attempt an interesting blog for the prize to shop Home Goods yet again...my chances are pretty slim.....but I do love your skill and living room light! We are kindred spirits, or it feels that way. Bring on the Fall!

  191. Image for Lynnette Davis Lynnette Davis

Fall is definitely my favorite season. It just seems to make me happier with the cooler temperatures, leaves turning, beautiful pumpkins, country fairs and festivals, and football. As I was anticipating fall the other day, I also felt guilty about wishing the warm temps would go away. Reminded myself to find joy in the current season.

  192. Image for Gail Dease Gail Dease

Your photos are lovely, except for the spider - yikes! Thank you for the inspiration. I find something beautiful about every season but I must say fall is an active time for us with four birthdays to celebrate plus Halloween and Thanksgiving.

I have always loved fall. I grew up in the Midwest so there was a very definite change of seasons. Now that I live in Texas, the change is much more subtle. I do miss the beautiful fall foliage. At least we do get a break from the heat!

  194. Image for Lori H Lori H

The older I get, the less I can handle the summer heat. Fall is my favorite season because of the crisp temps, the glorious outdoor color and my birthday! I no longer have kids in K-12 but I still feel the urge to buy new pencils when September rolls around :) Love all of your Fall home - so cozy!

  195. Image for Laurie Laurie

Fall is my favorite season! Home Goods is opening a store near us in 12 days...not that we are counting ha ha!

  196. Image for Michele Riggsbee Michele Riggsbee

I can't believe how fast this year has gone by! I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of Fall! Just put out my Fall arrangements and made a new wreath for the front door! Also got 2 new Fall garden flags that I put up this weekend! I'm ready to hear the sound of crisp colorful leaves crunch beneath my feet!

  197. Image for Maura Maura

I love hearing the annoying ring at 5.30 am alarm clock and cuddling back into the blankets for "5 more minutes" as you feel the autumn air from the cranked bedroom window.

  198. Image for Robin Robin

I love sleeping with the windows wide open in early fall. Snuggling with a light blanket and the crisp air make for a great nights sleep.

  199. Image for Teresa Longworth Teresa Longworth

I love Fall. College football games, fire pits, and family. Crisp weather, sweatshirts, Carmel apples, and everything pumpkin.

  200. Image for Mira Mira

Fall is without a doubt my favorite! My husband just told me yesterday that it's too early for my pumpkin spice air freshener! Lol!

  201. Image for Bettie F Bettie F

I love fall.....the beautiful colors, cooler temperatures, the smells and tastes of fall. Your home is beautiful!

  202. Image for Tania Tania

I like fall but my favorite season is summer, I just love the warm sunshine, being outside, shorts, tank tops, and sun-kissed skin :o) Tania

  203. Image for Sharon Sharon

Your fall decor is perfect! Love it all...I thunk my favorite season is spring but I love them all, great point you made as we tire of one it's time for the next... Hugs, Sharon

  204. Image for Vickie Vickie

Wow..good for you LOTS of entries..I never thought I'd scroll to the end to enter. Lol! Love your wooden pumpkins best..and pops of orange. I'm a summer girl through and through! Beach bohemian all my life..blessed to always live in my Florida paradise. Thanks

  205. Image for Cheryl B Cheryl B

I truly love summer with the warm days and nights, and lack of heavy winter gear. But fall is a very close second with its jeweled colors and crisp air .

  206. Image for Gabi Gabi

I can never decide on Spring or Fall as my favorite season: Spring because my gardens come alive and I am sooo done with the gray skies and cold of winter. Then, again, Fall is a respite from the dog days of summer, and I mean hot and humid around here. I am so in love with the cool breezes, clear skies of Autumn, and a chance to garden again. It's a toss-up, depending on my own internal thermometer, which needs to be in a moderate 70's temp zone!!

  207. Image for Jae Jae

Your post is just a perfect description of the seasons. I like each one, for a while. Actually, summer is least favorite because it has beem hot and dry here, but still tons of mosquitoes biting through every repellant i have tried. But the long evenings and glorious flowers are wonderful. Biggest thing is, the older I get, the faster they seem to bow out. Think I would like them to slow down and give me an extra dance before changing partners....:)

  208. Image for ruby ruby

Nothing compares to the bursting of spring and digging in the dirt....wish i could like fall, but it makes me a little sad...

  209. Image for Sandy A Sandy A

I have always loved Fall, even with winter not far, when we lived in Wisconsin. I love all colors of pumpkins and gourds, all the colors of corn, and the warm fall colors in decor and clothing. Now living in Texas we don't have Fall as up North...but I love all things Fall here too...

  210. Image for Stacey Stacey

Fall is my favorite, especially now that I am retired (teacher) although I loved all the fall art projects with the kiddos! We don't have such definite seasons here, it is possible to go outside and forget which month it is because the weather can be monotonous. We have had a cool summer here on the coast, and I am hoping we don't get our heatwaves in September and October! And am hoping for a good wet winter, we are in an awful drought.

  211. Image for Gwen Gwen

I like how you go around the house and add your touches of fall all around. It's very unique. I just read a post before yours and the lady wrote I no longer decorate for the seasons in any big way and I'm so relieved and happy! She had a non blooming mum in an oriental pot. Or was it plain. That's the mark it left on me!!! Why is it better to not get festive? Why can't I embrace colorful gourds and pumpkins?? I love to look at them and feel the bumps and lines on these fall harvests. I enjoy the colors of fall too!!! You seem to enjoy the season we'll i!!!!

  212. Image for Michele Alger Michele Alger

I love the carved wood pumpkin and the chance to see your house all decked out in fall. I will not be doing a fall home tour this year, so it's fun to see others like yours. I love home goods!!! ;)

  213. Image for Michelle Michelle

I love your house! My favorite season is fall too. In the south we get it much later and I'm always waiting for it.

  214. Image for Mimi Mimi

I love Fall. I only wish it lasted longer. There is nothing quite like the scents of the season, the beautiful colors of fall leaves, football, pumpkins, comfort foods like chili, soup.... Yes Fall! Love your home and your blog. I visit you everyday and always smile and marvel at your imagination and ability to write such soul touching stories.

  215. Image for Jaime Jaime

It's tie between fall and spring, but truly I love them all. I'm glad to live in the Midwestern US so I get to experience all four seasons!

  216. Image for Heather C Heather C

Definitely fall, living in a university town, the air just palpitates with energy and now those cool mornings - relief from all this heat of summer - I just love it.

  217. Image for Lisa Lankau Lisa Lankau

I loved how you are able to capture the feeling with words..I hesitate at the beginning of each new season. This year though is a little different. I have just moved to a new home (last week) and while it's been here for over 50 years, it's new to me! So this will be a year of firsts in this home, so for now...I love Fall!

  218. Image for Susan Roberts Susan Roberts

Fall of course, the easiest season there is. I love to look for the first pumpkins offered at the farmer's markets and grocery stores. I try to get one of every color and variety, then stack some in urns by my front door and spill others out of baskets. Just a couple pots of mums and your front door says fall.

  219. Image for Melissa c. Melissa c.

Fall is definitely my favorite season because that's when we celebrate my favorite holiday Thanksgiving!

  220. Image for JEnny JEnny

Summer is my favorite overall season, but September is by far my favorite month! Still warm weather, but football has started!! :) I really don't like winter, so fall starts to get me just a little depressed because I know what's next...

  221. Image for Carolyn Carolyn

My favorite is Fall! Vibrant colors, crisp days, pumpkin lattes, and fresh apples straight from the orchard...bring it on!!

  222. Image for Grace Grace

Even though I have summer on my mind all year, I do love fall after I adjust from flip flops to wearing all my cool boots. Also because, then comes Christmas. Best decorating time ever.

  223. Image for Keri Justice Keri Justice

My favorite season he always been fall. I live in Ohio and the trees and the changing of the leaves are gorgeous. I also got married outside in the fall!

  224. Image for Raylene Fullington Raylene Fullington

Love it as summer winds down. Garden is almost done, cupboards are full with summers bounty, the nights are cooler and the sunny days are bright and crisp! So, fall is still # 1, but spring is running a close second here in my state :) I think our trees rival just about anybodys for the beautiful fall color.

  225. Image for Judy Judy

I love fall: The warm colors, the crisp smells, the cool, brisk breeze. The feeling of preparation for the cold winter. I love it all.

  226. Image for Julie Julie

Wow! I love your tour! I always love your home in all the seasons. So glad for all of them. I would get bored with no changes! I really love your centerpiece. I wish i had access to real magnolia leaves. They are pretty costly to buy fake. But I might! I am thinking how to adapt this:) Great job!

  227. Image for Heather Heather

Always love seeing how you decorate for the next season! Everything looks so beautiful and natural. I love the freedom of summer and the longer days. But every year I look forward to the cooler air and the changing colors of fall!

  228. Image for Garden, Home and Party Garden, Home and Party

As always, charm in your style always feels so welcoming. I'm pretty sure autumn is my favorite season...until spring comes along and then I'm convinced spring is the favorite! Do I have to select only one? :-) Karen

  229. Image for Alyson N. Alyson N.

Fall is my absolute favorite! After a warm spring and hot summer, I crave crisp air and everything pumpkin :)

  230. Image for Janell Janell

I do love the change of all the seasons and like you I'm ready when the new one rolls around. But Fall just doesn't seem to last long enough - cooler weather, football, beautiful foliage, soup, hot chocolate, the fair, etc.

  231. Image for Kyl Kyl

I always thought my favorite season was summer (sun, water, vacations) but more and more I look forward to the crisp air, falling leaves and layering of clothes that Fall brings.

  232. Image for Tamela Kirby Tamela Kirby

Love your home, but again I have always loved your home. I visit almost every day to your blog. You have done a wonderful job decorating and creating things for your house. Fall is my favorite time of the year, but when you live in south Louisiana it's hard to get in the fall mood right now. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will get there!

  233. Image for susan b susan b

I think falls my favorite - other than knowing it's followed by the DREADED winter. Also - Am I the only one that can't get that rafflecopter to work? Am I clueless?

  234. Image for Jody Jody

Spring is my thing! A renewal. A new beginning after the long winter. Homegoods is the place I go when I get the bug for an update.

  235. Image for Leslie Leslie

Oh, my...it's hard not to love autumn, and I'm a big fan of those crisp days and brilliant colors, autumn, but my most favorite time is these few weeks of September's summer as the evenings become just a little cooler, the dawn arrives a bit later and dusk comes a bit earlier, but days are mild, the leaves are just starting to hint at changing, and the summer season hasn't quite departed yet.

  236. Image for Jolyn Jolyn

Fall is not my favorite, but I think it's that way because of how much I LOOOOVE summer. I did put out my pumpkins and birch bark wreath, so it's warming up to me...

  237. Image for Christine E-E Christine E-E

I L❤️VE fall!!! All those bright orange ? pumpkins, burgundy ? leaves and crunchy ? goodness under my feet. Wearing sweaters & ? jeans, drinking apple ? cider, and baking tea ? breads. Now, if California would ever get some rain ? I'd be sooo happy! I need to mention, my favorite holiday is ? Christmas!

  238. Image for Laurie Laurie

Gorgeous fall home tour! It's SO hard to pick a favorite season, but if I had to choose, I would choose fall. The crisp air, weekend hiking, comfort food to warm you on a chilly day. What I could do without is the time change and getting dark at 4:30pm! ;)

  239. Image for Donna C Donna C

I have two favorites- Spring and Fall! Spring for all of the flowers blooming and Fall for the cooler days and beautiful colors!

  240. Image for Amy McGill Amy McGill

Autumn is my absolute favorite time of year. I LOVE the cool crisp air and the brilliant colors! Your home is such an inspiration!

  241. Image for Veronica R. Veronica R.

Oooh, wheat in galvanized vase, adding that to the shopping list. My favorite season is spring. The burst of bright green (my favorite color) after the long winter is amazing!

  242. Image for Debbie S. Debbie S.

Love your fall decor. The fuzzy khaki pillow was my favorite. I'm a summer girl and pretty much love anything coastal. Home Goods is one of my favorite places to shop.

  243. Image for Jen H Jen H

It used to be fall! But now with 5 little kids, chronically sick due to allergies and asthma I like summer. They arent sick as often and I love letting them explore and play outside!

  244. Image for Bethanie Henry Bethanie Henry

I love fall best because it means it's almost time for Chapel Market where I can see my friend, Karianne!! :)

  245. Image for Jennifer Jennifer

I guess I can't pick a favorite! It would kinda be like picking a favorite child, Hee Hee! Each season has something I look forward to! However, when I am done, I am done! On to the next! I think it is hardest to say goodbye to summer... It's a good thing fall is so amazing!

  246. Image for Harriett Harriett

Fall is my favorite . . . as are your homages to each of the seasons. How clever to use all those words and feelings. Beautiful surroundings in any season, love all your touches. Here's to the season!

  247. Image for Samantha Samantha

Fall is my favorite season because it starts to cool down a little here in Florida. Summer is way too hot and I love being outside but it's just about unbearable in the mid summer....actually it's unbearable 8 months of the year here. I long for living in a state that has 4 distinct seasons.

  248. Image for Barbara Bachus Barbara Bachus

It would take a very strong person to drag me out of the Northeast during the fall! The air is crisp, the scenery is gorgeous and I get to decorate for my favorite season! Love your blog and your wonderful ideas!

  249. Image for Denise Barkel Denise Barkel

Love your home!! I'm a summer girl all the way, love anything to do with outside as long a the temp does go lower the 70.

  250. Image for Jordan Kuban Jordan Kuban

Oh hands down, fall. It ushers us into all my favorite things... like bouquets of newly sharpened pencils (name that movie), crisp morning air, long sleeve t-shirt with jeans days, campfires, and... the holidays.

  251. Image for Allison V Allison V

Your house is very pretty! I especially love your blue and white rug in your sitting room! I also love all your subtle hints of fall. Your décor is put together so well! The leaves are already changing here in the Colorado mountains. Fall is just around the corner!

  252. Image for Tracey Tracey

This is like a progressive party!! All of your homes and your decorations are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for your hospitality!

  253. Image for Starla Starla

So many beautiful photos! This is the perfect post for that question because Fall is my favorite hands down! I love all of the festivities and the weather is so perfect here in Georgia. The Summer here is miserable so I LOVE the cool air! Oh and of course the foods, drinks and foliage!

  254. Image for Ally Ally

I love when I come to your blog and I literally feel like we're friends chatting. Your house looks beautiful for fall! Any season for that matter :-)

  255. Image for Martha DeMarco Martha DeMarco

Fall is my favorite season, but I really miss living in the northeast, so pretty in the fall, not much change here in the south. SO, I try and bring fall into my home.

  256. Image for karen karen

Oh how I love autumn and maybe even a little more I love Homegoods!! Just wish there was one closer to me...wait...that might be dangerous!! Happy Fall to you and yours!!

  257. Image for Finny Finny

Fall is definitely my favorite! Crisp, cool weather, beautiful reds and oranges ... leaves, pumpkins, cider ... jeans, boots and sweaters, and football! And birthdays for 3 of my four kids, and me! Fall is God's time to repaint the canvas. PS. I love Home Goods.

  258. Image for Donna Sexton Donna Sexton

  259. Image for Angie Barker Angie Barker

My favorite thing about Fall is that there's still a hint of summer in the greenery that starts turning those warm and vibrant hues. Living in the south we patiently wait for the crispness in the air that eventually comes in mid-October, but I still enjoy wearing my cardigan and scarf paired with my sandals waiting for my season Prince Charming.

  260. Image for Lisa Lisa

I live in California , the air is chilly at night - but I it is sneaky! Tomorrow it could feel like summer again....

  261. Image for Cindy A. Cindy A.

Fall is most definitely my favorite season! I always look forward to visiting the Great Smoky Mountains, drinking gallons of cider, and Halloween.

  262. Image for Lisa | Shine Your Light Lisa | Shine Your Light

Karianne your home looks so pretty as always! So warm and inviting and CLEAN!! I love your subtle touches for fall, the natural woven pumpkin in your foyer and those cute little accessories that are not overwhelming to the spaces. Just perfect! Summer is my favorite but fall and spring are tied in 2nd place. Winter is cute for about a month but in Massachusetts it overstays it's welcome by about 3 months :)

  263. Image for maureen gill maureen gill

Love your fall décor! Everything looks beautiful and really compliments your everyday décor. Fall is my favorite season as well but being a military transplant to the South, I admit I am truly missing the beautiful fall trees of the North.

  264. Image for Marsha Williams Marsha Williams

What a wonderful brain you are in possession of, Such prose! And I love your home, your choice of colors and the outside especially.

  265. Image for Karen U Karen U

Absolutely autumn! Fall in New England is just the best! Blue jeans and sweaters! Marshmallows over the fire pit, apples, pumpkinso, roasted winter squash and root vegetables.... it's the best! Karen

  266. Image for Kimberli Kimberli

I'm usually a Summer Lover, but this year I'm really ready to move on to Fall, with all the beautiful colors, cooler days and hopefully a little rain ?

  267. Image for Lori Lori

fall is the best!! Not only do the colors speak to me, but pumpkin spice is in the house!! We have a Home Goods opening up just down the street from me this weekend which is perfecting timing to get my fall on!! The closest one to me was over an hour away...

  268. Image for greentopiaries greentopiaries

So gorgeous! Spring is my favorite season. Before the horrible heat and my garden looks the best. Thanks for the chance! :)

  269. Image for Ivonne Ivonne

Beautiful home!! Thanks for the inspiration! My favorite season by far is Fall. I love all the warm colors, crisp air, and of course everything I can get my hands on that has pumpkin spice!

  270. Image for Jen D. Jen D.

Fall is my favorite season...for it's glorious colors, the cooler temps, for the pause that occurs before nature rests through winter. Thanks for the chance to win.

  271. Image for Rosylyn Rosylyn

My favorite season is Fall. I love the crisp air and the beautiful warm colors. I enjoy your blog very much!

  272. Image for Barbara Barbara

Fall is the anticipated season at our house. I guess because it centers around the kids. Rather than on January 1st, it is like a new beginning. Starting school for the new year, shopping for new school supplies and clothes, being promoted to a new class at church, re-starting extra-curricular activities or starting new ones. Always puts me in the mood for decorating the house to celebrate this time. Christmas of course is celebrated a lot in our house but not so much winter. Spring is always great with planting new flowers and everything coming back to life and also with Easter and of course summer is great but FALL would have to be my favorite season.

  273. Image for Stephanie M Stephanie M

I've been following you for about a year now and I am never disappointed when I stop in for a visit. Your stories are the best and the way you decorate is unique in inspiring. Again, well done!

  274. Image for Kim Kim

Oh wow - every season has its little perfections and little annoyances, it's so hard to pick! I love fall because of football, crisp sunny days, the colors of the farm fields as the corn and beans turn to beautiful shades of rusty colors, the first fire in the fireplace.....But it's so short-lived here in Iowa! We have such swings during the fall - 90 degree days, 60 degree days, and suddenly it's winter. Gotta enjoy it when it's here!

  275. Image for Kim stone Kim stone

Gorgeous house!!!! Love the way you've decorated for fall. My favorite season is summer....super sad it's over.

  276. Image for Katie Alosi Katie Alosi

Fall is my Favorite Season. It is so comforting to me. Cozy blankets, warms cups of soothing cheer, pumpkin flavors, I am always excited for all of this when the leaves start to change.

  277. Image for Pat Pat

I LOVE fall! The first day of September I begin celebrating ~ with Neil Diamond's "September Morn", fall scented candles and fall decor. October is my favorite month! We have such brutal summers here in Texas and it usually begins to cool down in Oct. Wearing fall clothes, walking in the early mornings with crisp air, having coffee outside ~ it's all good! I've been in Home Goods so often lately! :) There's one within walking distance.

  278. Image for Ty Ty

I love winter because I love snow. Yes, I'm probably along in that but I love it, plus, the colors of all the decorations for the holidays are stunning.

  279. Image for Kayley Kayley

I'd say fall is my favorite season, honestly! It leads into the holidays, so there is a sense of excitement. At the same time, it isn't as cold as winter and the autumn colors are beautiful.

  280. Image for Karla Karla

Absolutely love your home! I'd love dancing with the four seasons, if only So CA had seasons ) : The way you described the changing of seasons is cute. The carved pumpkin is my favorite, well along with the wheat! Thank you for sharing.

  281. Image for Lana Mitchell Lana Mitchell

Fall, Fall, Fall... Didnt get it when we lived in sunny San Diego, but now that we have become "Southern" - FALL!

Fall is, hands down, my favorite season. It's not too hot, and not too cold. Plus, I love the changing of the leaves AND pumpkin lattes.

  287. Image for Janis Hill Janis Hill

Summer! Being a southern girl and living in New England I look forward to the heat, the sunshine and the magnificent flowers of summer. Fall is beautiful. Winter not so much, Spring is often still cold and damp, but summer in all its glory brings peace to my soul

  288. Image for Pamela Smith Pamela Smith

Summer, summer, summer, but I'm kind of like you, where each season has it's own special thing about it. But I really don't like cold, so summer stays on top of the list!

  289. Image for Tina Matteson Tina Matteson

I love fall most because just when I'm sooooo hot and so over summer... the weather cools down and the leaves start falling and it's so refreshing and lovely!

My favorite season in spring! I love when you can see the flowers blooming, open your windows, and shed those layers of winter clothes!

    1. Image for Jenny Dart Jenny Dart

Oh and I meant to say.....SPRING!! Without a doubt. Until I'm tired of her. I certainly know what you mean.

  294. Image for Anna Anna

Fall is my favorite season! I love the crispness in the air, the crunch of fall leaves, the fragrance of bonfires and hot apple cider, warm fuzzy socks, all things flannel and plaid, fleece lined flats, and cozy sweaters!

  295. Image for Raylene Raylene

Your home is beautiful and I just love the warm patina of your wood floors. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter...I love them all but I seriously miss living where I could enjoy all the beautiful fall tree colours and cool crisp evenings. Just can't love Texas.

  296. Image for Kerri Kerri

I thought I was the only one so passionate about the changing of the seasons. When I start losing interest, I have to tell myself not to rush things, but, while every season holds its own special meaning for me, Fall simply captivates me; it is the one season I crave all year long. My favorites are those days when the very air has an orange glow to it. Bliss. Thanks for sharing your lovely ideas for this treasured season.

  297. Image for Ann Ann

Fall is my favorite dance partner, but I too love the other three seasons! It would be very difficult to celebrate the seasons, for me, without those changing leaves and the snap of the cold weather before those spring flowers pop up. Love your wood pumpkin!

  298. Image for Toni Toni

Fall is definitely my favorite season. Pumpkin- flavored everything, sweaters, boots, SEC football and the cool weather!

  299. Image for Kara Gordon Kara Gordon

I absolutely love the idea of fall, leaves changing color and a crispness in the air, but in southern Texas we don't really get to experience it in all it's glory....I'm talking shorts and tank tops into December ya'll. That being said, I would have to go with spring. I love seeing all the green and the flowers that appear.

  300. Image for donna donna

Gorgeous home! You are so talented! I love Fall. Here in Savannah, Ga, it only just starts giving us some relief from the summer temperatures. I love the colors, pumpkins, and most of all Halloween!

  301. Image for Teresa Teresa

I am fully committed to my LOVE of Summer!! {Even tho I like all the seasons!} Summer is my favorite to decorate for and have fun in. Here in Michigan, Summers are dreamy and at least 3 months long. LOVE your site and the writing just as much as the photos. :)

  302. Image for Irene Irene

Summer will always be my girl. Fall is great but does not last very long where I live (Chicago) and also just served as a reminder that the cold dark winter is near.

I'm a summer girl, myself; golden sunshine, puffy white clouds, azure skies, and the land all decked out in gowns of green.

No real seasons here in SoCal. But if there were.... Fall would be my Bestie. Cool temps, vivid colors, crunchy leaves to shuffle through, hot chocolate by the fireside. It all would be perfect.

  309. Image for lisa kelley lisa kelley

My favorite season is fall. I love when the air starts to get cooler and you can see the beautiful colors of the trees! All the seasons are beautiful though, and tell of God's goodness in creating different seasons and the beauty each holds.

Although I enjoy decorating both inside & outside for every season, my hands down favorite has always been fall!

  311. Image for Lori Nelson Lori Nelson

Fall was my favorite season, but the older I get I think winter is my favorite, if it doesn't snow too much! I'm not that in to shoveling!

I do love all of the seasons, but i am particularly partial to the rich, warm colors of fall. Here in Southern California we do not get the big seasonal contrasts you see in other parts of the country so i have to get my fall fix with my interior decor.... and i do love it. Thank you Karianne for sharing your lovely home with us!

I love all the warm tones and textures. And I love the backdrop (or subtle frame) of the striped wall. Each space looks beautifully unified. Thank you for all the inspiration.

I think my favorite is spring. Fall is still just a little bit too warm here in Southern California- I feel like I should be baking and doing fall things but it's 95 degrees outside for Pete's sake!

I'm so not ready for fall!!! Summer was so blazing miserable that I really just find myself craving a week of sensible summer temps before fall appears.

My favorite season is fall which is strange because I hate orange and yellow, but I love everything pumpkin and apple and squash and, ohhhh, the scents. I get excited by all the visual stimuli, too. Hay bales, pumpkins, corn and turkeys. Leaves falling and fall winds. What is there not to love?

My favorite season is spring (which is end of February and beginning of March in Florida). Everything seems new and fresh and feels of new beginnings and the promise of a beautiful summer ahead.

I love Fall! Sweaters, hot chocolate, boots, football games, friends and laughter. These are a few of the things that come to mind when I think about fall. The beginning of the most exciting season of the year. Awesome giveaway

Beautiful fall home tour. Fall is my favorite season. Would you mind sharing where you got the rustic pumpkin in the chair? If you said, I was too excited and busy dancing and missed it. Love your blog.

I do that all the time! Long for the changing seasons.... It always makes me think... God knew what he was doing.... He knew we couldn't be happy in an eternal season of any one type. ?

I love fall. It is just beautiful but if I had to pick a favorite it would be christmas and winter. So fun to decorate.

Spring! The rebirth of green, warmer temperatures and the return of birds, bugs and other critters always makes me happy. Plus, when you are a preschool teacher, there is nothing like "releasing the hounds" after all those cold winter days spent playing indoors.

Like you, I have an appreciation for each season, and a sense of melancholy as the seasons slowly transition...a sense of time passing and hoping I have enough memories to keep me going! I love your talents, and your stories. And I hope you have a lifetime of decorated seasons, with the memories to match!

Such a hard question!! I love all of the seasons...probably why I love living in New England! Just when I am ready for a change, it's ready to happen. I think autumn is my favorite to decorate for...pumpkin spice and everything nice! Gorgeous home tour, Karianne! You are so talented. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

I love spring. It's the anticipation of summer. It's filled with rain, mud, and worms. ? Those are not my favorites but I love to see the tiny green stems pushing up through the dirt and the buds forming with the hope of glorious blooms in time.

Autumn has always been my favorite season - perhaps because I was born in October? Or maybe it's the pumpkins and acorns!

Def the fall. I am in the South now. But, grow up in the North and every fall I get really homesick. Just so beautiful and that cool crisp air that you start to feel....Oh, sweet memories...

Fall is hands down my favorite season, but I like winter and spring, too. Your home is gorgeous! I am so glad I got a chance to "peak" into it.

Autumn is my favorite season by far. I can finally turn my oven back on and bake! Too hot to do that in the summer. And it's my birthday, state fair, Halloween, boots, sweaters, pumpkins - I could go on and on!!
