Hello friends.

I have the BEST centerpiece idea on the PLANET to show you today.

Oh, wait.

Before we get started?

Have I mentioned how happy I am that you are here?

I’m so excited to be part of the Linen Skinny Table Runner blog hop hosted by Diane from South House Designs. If you stopped by from Michele over at Vintage Home Designs welcome to my dining room.

Diane sent us all her amazing skinny linen runners and challenged us to come up with a summer to fall table.

I can’t wait to show you my table and a centerpiece that took FIVE minutes to make and should last until a month that starts with an “O”.

Are you ready for a little almost fall?

Oh, good.

Me, too.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet my centerpiece.

I used two of the linen skinny runners.

I placed them across the table and there was enough width for the perfect amount of hang over.

The weight and texture of the linen is so perfect for almost fall.

Here’s a close-up of the runner so you can see the color up close.

I love the hem on the end.

It looks so french with the tiny bit of fringe tufted on each side.

I was going to do a floral arrangement for the center and I was standing in the middle of Trader Joe’s when the most brilliant idea struck me.

Why not use potted flowers instead?

See if this has ever happened to you.

You are hosting a party and you go by fresh flowers and bring them home and arrange them in a vase and put them on the table and then the day after the party one of the flowers starts to wilt. So you take that flower out and then another one wilts and another one and another one and you find yourself trying to milk a flower arrangement to get it to last five days.

Why?

When you can buy these little pots of flowers at Trader Joe’s and put them all together for a centerpiece.

They were $5.99 WITH THE WHITE POTS!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s exactly how I created it.

I bought a larger plant like this one and put it in a vintage soup tureen.

Then I placed it in the center of the table.

Around it, I placed several smaller potted plants in a circle.

Some I kept in the original white containers and some I put in pieces from my milk glass collection.

I added some urns so I could vary the height of the flowers.

And then?

Then I scattered these blue and white fabric pumpkins that I bought online.

And added a few candles.

AND I WAS DONE.

Doesn’t it look fancy? Please tell me you are all about it just like me.

And the best part?

The colors are summer and the pumpkins are fall and it only took me five minutes to put together.

Fresh flowers until October.

LIFE IS AMAZING. 🙂

Love those blue & white and white fabric pumpkins; what style! I also like the idea of the potted plants in a grouping on the table. In our home, I criss-crossed the table runners to get a different look and everyone gets a little of the runner as a placemat. Isn't it cool how Trader Joe's brings out inspiration; they have the best buyers in the world! (Getting ready for Fall, you just inspired me to paint my ceramic pumpkin - white!) And oh Karianne, hope your dear twins are enjoying their high school year safely! Be well, my friend!

I LOVE those blue and white pumpkins! Can you share their source. If it is a pattern, I would love it so I could do a green and white floral pattern.

Gorgeous! I love the flowers, the white pots and the beautiful blue and white pumpkins. Everything is stunning. I am so ready for Fall and some cooler temps. We have been under an extreme hear advisory for well over a week now and no rain in forever. Thanks for keeping my Autumn dreams alive.

Also love Trader Joe’s soooo much. One of the few things I miss about HOUSTON. Waco doesn’t have one. Very sad face! If anyone has connections, please tell them to put in a TJ in Waco. It would be packed every day. BTW the Gaines have put out a casting call looking for homes in the Waco area for the return of Fixer Upper. Can’t wait to find the homes they will be doing!

Love the potted plants & our TJs usually has them from time to time. Love that many are white and pleasing to the eyes. Double runners, yes!!! Most of my runners stay in the drawer until the end of summer. We are almost there.

You nailed it GF!!! It’s fresh and vibrant and the pops of color from the flowers and the taper candles are great! Multiple colors and textures! I hate leaving sumner for fall and the blue you have here make me feel you haven’t forgotten one season for another! Of course, I’m in Texas with you and it’s still in the high 90’s, so fall will be welcome when it arrives. Your tabletop spans the bridge between the seasons and the table runner that started this challenge truly is lovely! The color and fringe are perfect for your tabletop! Cheers Texas Star!

Lovely! And now I'm frantically going over ways to get to the nearest TJ (not exactly "near", shall we say) to GRAB ALL THE PLANTS! I love live blooming plants!!!

KariAnne, I love how your decorating style has evolved from country farmhouse to a more traditional style with blue and white. Your dining room with its dark blue walls is stunning. And your summer-to-fall table with its beautiful centerpiece of potted flowers and blue-and-white pumpkins is show stopping!!!!! You are truly an AMAZING ROCK STAR!!!! I would want to be you when I grow up, but alas, I am older than you. 😉 Judith

Hi Karianne: I purchased some blue and white fabric pumpkins just like yours from Cavendar and I wanted to tell you how very pleased I am with this wonderful, honest, business and the products. I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for these pumpkins, you won't be disappointed with the quality of merchandise and the service you receive. Thanks so much Karianne for a great recommendation. I've asked what else they make/carry so I can look at all their products. Great find! God bless, Jan
