Finding Fall 2014 Button-Corrected

It’s that time.

The much promised fall home tour is finally here.

inspired-room-button

If you are stopping by from The Inspired Room or Finding Home…..welcome and nice to meet you.

Fall House Tour

I’m so happy that you are here.

Truly.

Mostly because nothing says happy fall like a fancy rhinestone necklace and leopard heels.

(total aside:  have you ever seen anyone so happy to open a door in your whole life).

painted porch

Before we begin….I have to tell you true.

I’m just getting started on this whole fall thing.

This is only the very beginning of fall inspiration and fall projects and fall recipes and some amazing photos I’m working on of fall in the country.

kitchen fall decor

And to kick off the season I wanted to share a few of the rooms I’ve been working on.

And.

(total aside:  if this is your first time visiting there is always, always an And).

acorns fall decor

And I was listing off all the reasons why I love fall.

After I made the list….I realized most of them are related to living in the country.  And I wondered if you lived in the city or a suburb or even another country….would your list look a little differently?

So here’s the thing.

I would love to hear what your favorite thing about fall is….from your corner of this big wide amazing world that we all live in.

And if you’ll tell me yours…..

…I’ll tell you mine. 🙂

pumpkin fall decor

1.  I love the way fall smells.

Apple cider.

And bonfires burning.

And fresh pumpkin pie out of the oven and cinnamon and wool sweaters and spicy pine….

….and the smell of twilight.

kitchen hutch fall decor

2.  I love the exact day when you can feel the weather start to turn.

You know….when it’s sunny and crisp and bright….but the air is cool and clear with just a hint of fall.

My grandmother used to call it sweater weather.

3.  Warm plaid blankets

When the sun sets early and it’s dark and the fire is crackling in the fireplace….nothing is better than a warm blanket.

Here’s the part where I should tell you about a good book.

Sometimes.

But mostly I’m just watching the Hallmark Channel.

barn wood ladder decorating ideas4.  Spoons

Not the kind you stamp.

Or the kind you eat with.

The game you play.

Games and games and games of spoons…..

….with extra buttered popcorn and hot chocolate.

felted acorns

5.  The winding curve right before you get to our house

It’s a country road that winds around and around.

And when fall arrives….the colors of the leaves will almost take your breath away.

6.  The way the wind blows through the trees

In the afternoons I sit on our screened-in porch with sweet tea and a really good magazine.

I love the sound that the wind makes when it tosses the leaves and blows them across the grass.

place setting fall

7.  A candle with a wood wick

Have you ever heard a candle with a wood wick?

It sounds like a fire crackling.

And it sounds even better if it smells like pumpkin spice.

silhouette pumpkins

8.  Farmer’s markets

In the country there is a farmer’s market on every corner.

And they sell mums by the bucketful.

And yards and yards of pumpkins in every color and shape and size.

fall decor hydrangea

9.  Dried hydrangea

I could include all the fall decor you can use for free.

But dried hydrangea are my favorite.

They dry in the prettiest colors and are perfect for wreaths and centerpieces and tucking into a garland.

small felted acorns

10.  Fall decorating and giggles

All this decorating came with an opinion from the helpers who live here.

Opinions on fall decor sprinkled with laughter.

I wouldn’t have it any other way.

1-IMG_4505

And in fall fashion news….here’s what all the fall decorators are wearing these days.

And the best part.

She told me this was 1950’s style.

Yep.

Donna Reed eat your heart out. 🙂

Just gorgeous KariAnne - love love love all the acorns ! I love the colors of fall and that's about it lol - I become a nervous wreck every year because of what's just around the corner and I think I'm probably the only blogger around that pretends it's just not happening ! I may gather up some acorns now though ! Your daughter is too cute in her 50's style fall outfit ! ( maybe she needs a poodle embroidered on the bottom of her tee? ) XOXO

  2. Image for Robin Stephens Robin Stephens

Go ahead and call me Grammie, or something similar, because there are no other words for fall other than Sweater Weather. And, if you can find a Tally Ho sweater with its covered, round buttons at a thrift store ....even better! True, true, true. It's my most favorite season, followed by winter...then I endure spring and summer just to get back to fall. LOVE all your decorating for the season. You definitely are skilled at Just Enough. My eyes and heart give you an A+!!

  3. Image for Marisa Franca @ All Our Way Marisa Franca @ All Our Way

Thank you for inviting me in. You look mahvelous my dear and your house follows suit. I got up early this morning just so I could see you and attend your tour. We are at the Holiday Inn right now en route for our fall getaway but I was not going to breakfast until I saw you :-) And fall is my favorite season for all of your reasons and also because reasons but also because it's my birthday month. I love your acorns but I got out my magnifying glass to make sure you didn't put some faux critters in honor of your first acorn experience.Big Hugs and have a wonderful day. Love your jeans and necklace and the shoes really finish it all off :-)

The house looks amazing, so many neat ideas. You know a house is special in many ways, not only the way it looks but how it makes you feel when you enter the front door. I have never been to your home but I can tell there is warmth, pride, happiness and a love for your home and family. You look truly amazing. I can tell your daughter loves fashion and loves earrings like her mother, she is beautiful like her mother. My favorite memory of Fall was when my son was young we would go to the library and get a book of James Whitcomb Riley' s poems and read "Little Orphant Annie" and" The Raggedy Man,"I always associated Fall with these poems, he is now 46 years old and is reading to his children. A week without reading your blog is like week without sunshine. Shine on KariAnne. Betty Hill

I just have to tell you that I still remember hearing our school librarian read "Little Orphan Annie" and I'm 61.

Your House is As Beautiful and Most Awesome As Always! Loved Your Tour! Thanks-So-Much For Inviting Me In! Hmmmm You Covered All The Aspects I Love About Fall Also.... But If I could Do A Repeat Here.....I Would Say That I Also Love All Of God's Earthy Colors That Come Popping Out In An OH! So Natural Way! Enjoy Your Fall!

  6. Image for Jill @ Still Keeping On The Narrow Way Jill @ Still Keeping On The Narrow Way

Thanks for welcoming us into your home dear KariAnne! The house looks amazing.....YOU look amazing (It seems as if the love of leopard print runs in the family, eh?) I love all the white pumpkins and acorns....so pretty! My most favorite thing about Fall is the color of blue that the sky becomes. Against the colors of the changing leaves, it's just gorgeous.

  7. Image for Suzi Suzi

Wow, Karrianne, you are stunning! And rockin' those rhinestones and leopard! Love everything you did especially how available all the nature is in your parts. Down here in south FL we have to purchase anything fallish and pumpkins are outrageous unless we do faux. My favorite thing about fall is traveling up north to get a little! I am jealous of the list ya'll have, sounds so cozy and wonderful. The two things Floridians do have in fall is a dry season which makes all our tropicals burst into bloom and an influx of migrating birds. The birds are so varied and abundant! Even in the city. That's my favorite part. Fall is super subtle and quiet in the subtropics.

    1. Image for gina gina

Yes, the snowbirds started arriving (the kind with wings, not the people who descend from up north!). That's one of my favorite parts of fall in South Florida. We get geese from Canada and beautiful birds from all over. Birds are singing happily right now. Ducks follow my son home from school. But our fall weather really is similar to summer. Would love color-changing leaves, crisp air, outdoor fires with s'mores (we do these, but sweaters are not required). And btw, you look great. I also have leopard wedge heels, red lipstick and bling! Yes, I knew I liked you before, but now it's sealed!

  8. Image for Shelley @ Calypso in the Country Shelley @ Calypso in the Country

This is the perfect way to start my morning, KariAnne! Not only is your fall decorating stunning, buy as always I love your stories that go along with it! I always consider myself a summer person but when those crisp fall mornings come along I almost feel butterflies in my stomach....the best sleeping weather too! Cheers to fall! -Shelley

  9. Image for Pam M Pam M

I absolutely adore your fall decorating! And your regular decorating for that matter! I would love to know what color paint you used in your kitchen. Mind sharing?

  10. Image for Mimi Mimi

My favorite things about fall are... the beautiful gold and burnt orange leaves making the perfect canopy against the ultra blue sky ...the crunching of dried leaves when I take an evening walk ...the smell of pumpkin pie spice and everything nice ...AND KariAnne's silhouette pumpkins!

  11. Image for Lisa at celebrate creativity Lisa at celebrate creativity

Lovely home tour, Karianne. You know you have one of my favorite county kitchens. After a hot and humid summer, there's nothing better than that first morning that you walk outside and the air is clear, cool and crisp, the sky is vibrant blue and the leaves have just started to change. That's when you know that fall has finally arrived. This is my favorite time of year. Have a great week.

  12. Image for Michael Wurm, Jr Michael Wurm, Jr

KariAnne ... first, you look AMAZING. Get out!? Love the outfit too. Second, your house is unbelievably beautiful. You never fail to amaze me with your talent and eye for details. Simply beautiful! xo Michael

When I think of Fall, I think of the fall I was 17 and owned my favorite pair of shoes EVER, and hoped beyond hope that Dad wouldn't pick me up at the end of our winding driveway so I could walk home from the bus. It was a perfect fall day. Beautiful leaves, the bluest sky you ever saw, absolutely NO humidity . . . And peace. That's how I think of Fall. And that's how I think of your house and your Fall decor. Peace. :) Have a grand Fall day, sweet lady!

  14. Image for Nancy Sharp Nancy Sharp

I love what you love especially in Kentucky. Sadly, we don't live there anymore. We live in Florida and pretend it's fall outside with our decorations. But I do love when we can go to our place in North Carolina and get a taste of fall. We try to get there in the peak time of the beautiful leaves turning so many gorgeous colors. In January and February I DO love Florida! I love when I open your blog and see your smiling face too.

  15. Image for Diana Lucas Diana Lucas

KariAnne, your home is absolutely stunning! It is perfectly decorated for fall and must be such a joy to live in. It makes me happy to tour all your rooms and look at your beautiful ideas. Where did you get the cute (they look wooden) acorns dangling from the wreaths?

    1. Image for Thistle Wood Thistle Wood

Diana, The acorns came from Hobby Lobby. They were super inexpensive (I think about 2.99 Have an awesome day! karianne

Thanks! I was just going to ask the same question about the awesome acorns! Love your Fall decorations! Happy Fall, Y'All!

I can only imagine how gorgeous Fall is where you are! Love all of your seasonal touches ... beautiful vignettes and ideas ... and, that there is always an "and!" Happy Fall!

You had me at dried hydrangea… For me it is the cozy clothes… I love sweaters and boots with long skirts… yup, this is my favourite time of year! Love your beautiful fall pics and as for the "Hello World" shots of you and little miss fabulous at the front door… You are both adorable!!!

  18. Image for jessica @fourgenerationsoneroof jessica @fourgenerationsoneroof

Well look at you sexy mamma rockstar!!!! AND those jeans!!!! Watch out world, Miss Thistle is rocking it ;) hehe. You look amazing! Congrats and oh, yes, your home as alway, just beautiful. Adore those little acorns and that cute little helper in the end ;).

  19. Image for Mimi Mimi

Kari your list is perfect. I would say the one thing I love most is Thanksgiving. I love planning the dinner, trying to find those who need a table to gather around, cooking for three days in a row with my daughter and mom, sitting around the table for hours talking and laughing, and the satisfaction you feel when everyone has left the dishwasher is running and you can finally put up your feet and watch Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving.

  20. Image for Regena Fickes Regena Fickes

Yep..Sweater Weather! Fall and Spring make my heart sing. Anything can happen. The world seems full of good promises. Wish I could have looked that cute in the 50's. As always, your house is lovely. Off to start baking something with apples and cinnamon. See you tomorrow.

  21. Image for Linda Linda

Beautiful home! I have followed your blog for some time now. The thing that really caught my eye from the get go was those fabulous smocked curtains. You were so kind to pass along where I might find them, but sadly, there are no longer available. I would LOVE to find a resource for this style. If ever I could have one fantasy come true it would be to live in the country in a nice small country house, with just enough space for grand kids! Thank you SO much for sharing part for yourself to so many others.

  22. Image for Kristen Kristen

OMG I so love your style.....and you make me want to move to the country. What do I like about Fall? The crisp in the air Sweaters Jeans Mums Pumpkins The color. I just love the color

  23. Image for Stephanie Ray Brown Stephanie Ray Brown

Precious as always in words and pictures! I love scarecrows.. truly have a thing for those fall guys and galss too as well as UK and Murray State football! So so proud of my Cats will get you next time gaters! The scarecrows like you make me smile bless you!

  24. Image for Vicki Vicki

Well first- i lOVE your fall home tour!! And what do i love about fall? Those gorgeous BRIGHT glowing yellow trees that show off - til our first big fall rain that knocks the leaves off the trees - then i love how the leaves float through the air and carpet those country roads in multicolored hues- that is what i love about Fall! You look marvelous!

  25. Image for Susie Susie

Beautiful home!! It's so warm and inviting. You have a knack for decorating. I love all the touches of fall throughout. And the plaque on the door is so adorable. Did you make it and if so, I'm hoping one day you share the "how to"? Happy Fall!

  26. Image for Anne Anne

Okay first I am going to tell you how amazing you look! You are da bomb KariAnne!!! And your home is absolutely gorgeous as always! Now to answer your question....your not going to like my answer.....because I am not a big fall girl at all.I love summer and everything about it.I deal with fall because it's here..but we don't have much of a fall it's a flash and straight into winter :-(

  27. Image for Brigitte Brigitte

KariAnne, you are radiant and glowing Beautiful, and so is your fellow fall decorator! to say that I love your home is such an understatement! There is beauty and creativity to behold wherever one looks! Where I leave (Algeria), fall does not have all the characteristics you'll have in your kind of climate unfortunately. But, When I was living in Europe, my favorite things were: 1. the number 2 on your list "the exact day when you can feel the weather start to turn", 2. in Brussels, I would take a tramway that would ride through the woods, just before the leaves started falling, to catch the golden sunshine, through the red, yellow and orange leaves. 3. I also loved walking on the grass in a park or in the forest and feel fallen leaves under my feet,... 4. smell the fragrance of roasted chestnuts on the streets of Brussels city centre and eat the first ones of the season! 5. Go to the plant and flower market on Sundays and soak in the sea of mums in all their colors and sizes and the fading colors of hydrangeas and so on and so on. However, I can't decide which is my favorite season, Fall or Spring, as I always marvelled anew when each them rolls in.

  28. Image for Linda Andersen Linda Andersen

Look at you not hiding behind a tree!! You look gorgeous Karianne...well, you always have :) Your house as always, makes me drool...love it, just love it, you remain my favorite blogger!! xoxo, Linda

Here in Seattle (where we've lived for 2 years, previously we lived in an itty bitty Kentucky town!), we have rainy season - October to June and summer July-August. But September has a bit of magic to it. It smells like fall. It 48 degrees at the morning bus stop and 65 in the afternoon. There's just enough soft warm light to fill you up and the air is nice and crisp. And then the rain starts, and you just hope you had enough September to get you through until June!

  30. Image for Janet Janet

Everything looks so beautiful, especially you! I'm trying to embrace Fall without mourning the long hours of daylight and afternoons at the pool...looking forward to a break in (100 degree) temperatures and breaking out the leopard sweater with fur trim. Much love!

  31. Image for Sandy Gooselaw Sandy Gooselaw

I love all the fall touches you've added to your already beautiful, warm and welcoming home. It feels like a place where friends and family love to gather. What I love about fall: My thoughts turn from gardening to snuggling up in front of a warm crackling fire, a good book and mug of hot chocolate piled high with whipped cream. . . When it's still 80 degrees and it feels and smells like fall. . . The sound of the school bus ambling down our street on the first day of school stopping at the corner to pick the precious cargo of squealing kids. . . As I walk through our yard hearing the crunch of crackling leaves. . . Chunky winter sweaters - every September I buy a new one. . . Watching our resident squirrels scurrying around our yard gathering and burying their winter stash. . . Replacing summer flowers with purple and white cabbages. Happy fall to you Kari! Thank you for sharing so much of you!

I live in the desert and it seems like it takes forever for Fall to arrive, however, it is my favorite season, mostly because of the promise of cooler weather to come. But the thing I love the most is that every year, the first week of October, my husband and I depart to a cooler destination. We pick a different location every year and we take one week to ourselves to reconnect and unwind. I am terrible at down time and this is my chance to do nothing for a week. I love wearing sweaters and boots and see the changing leaves and smell the wonderful scents of fall. In the desert, we can't even think about sweaters and boots until November. Your house looks amazing. Can I tell you a secret (of course I can!).....your house is my most favorite ever. I love everything about it. It is the one house I have seen where I can honestly look at it and say "I wouldn't change one single thing!"

  33. Image for Tardevil Tardevil

As we say in the south, she's a 'mess', isn't she? I'm she gets a little of her spunky spark from her mom! ;o) The decor is perfect, as always! That porch is just awesome and love the wooden deer head. You're rockin' that outfit, too, btw! Can't wait to see the rest….I still have out beach decor.

  34. Image for Winnie Winnie

You know how you remember the oddest things from your childhood sometimes? I remember when I was a senior in H.S., my sister were walking the 2 1/2 miles to our Saturday high school football game, and all the leaves on the ground were swirling like little whirlpools the whole long way - we just couldn't believe it and how pretty it looked! Ever since that day I LOVE the look of dried leaves blowing and swirling on the ground! It just makes me happy!!

  35. Image for Lourdes Lourdes

KariAnne - I simply adore you and your decorating style! You manage to be so elegant but yet casual with such a sense of welcoming and warmth - truly love your home! I love love your stair runner/carpet -can you tell me where its from? or what kind of fabric that is? I always look forward to your posts because I know your sweet sense of humor will always put a smile on my face while looking at your beautiful home! Happy Fall! My favorite part of Fall are the colors of the leaves changing and oh what beautiful sunsets against those magical trees while the leaves change colors! No other season provides that beauty!

  36. Image for Charlotte Snodgrass Charlotte Snodgrass

Girl you are my VERY favorite!!I love what you have done for your fall décor so far! And your daughter looks like you, just a doll! Sunday morning was that time for us in East Texas when the change in the weather was fall, like overnight! We sat on our front porch before church with throws and the grandboys were in the big porch swing with colors and coloring books with the cool fall air all around us! I loved this memory! looking forward to your next posts!!

Karianne, Lovely photos! You look super cute and your daughter is a doll too! My favorite fall thing : caramel apples! Christine

You and your mini-me are the prettiest decorations in your home! And I love your new shade of lipstick, too! You are one of the most talented persons I've ever met and your creativity has no bounds! I love the smell of the first wood fire burning in the fall!

  40. Image for Keri Ann Brown Keri Ann Brown

Hi there from another Keri Ann (different spellings/spacing, but close enough?). I'm here for the first time, via Pinterest. What a lovely home you have! I feel like I could plop myself down on the sofa -- or on the deck, or at the kitchen table -- and feel right at home, which isn't always the case in beautifully-decorated homes. As for my favorite things about Fall (which, I know, shouldn't be capitalized, but I never can resist doing it anyway), I would agree with you on the smells, for sure! I would also add that I'm very fond of the colors of Fall. Glorious! Thanks for the tour of your home, and I'll do my best to stop by your blog again! Homeschooling keeps me very busy, but I try to make time for the simple pleasures of blogland whenever I can.

Blah, blah, blah, gorgeous home, gorgeous decorating, fabulous fall ideas, yeah, yeah, yeah but let's talk about YOU!!! I mean your home is always stunning but you my friend completely stole it's thunder with that photo of you!!! So beyond proud of you and thrilled FOR you and just love you to pieces even if now they are itty bitty pieces because! ;-)

Karianne, your house looks great and very festive. I really love white pumpkins and all of the decorated pumpkins! But, let's talk about you...girl you look great!!!! Love the picture of you at the front door :) My favorite thing about fall living in Boise is the beautiful color of the trees down by the Boise river. It is so beautiful. Everywhere you look there are trees filled with vibrant yellow, red and orange leaves. I love fall bazaars, farmer's markets, pumpkin spice candles, eating pumpkin pie, decorating with pumpkins and all things fall. It is my favorite season of the year. I love the cool mornings after a long hot summer and the beautiful sunsets in the evening. Enjoy your fall!

  44. Image for Patricia Patricia

Those cool pumpkins in your very first photo ... creamy white with gold or beige lace pattern? Where ... how ... what ... you can't show me something wonderful and jaw dropping and just walk off and leave me drooling. A link to something please ... or at least a promise to do so in the VERY NEAR FUTURE. By the way, you looked super cute in your photo ... velvet or velour vest? Looked fab!

  45. Image for Sandy Sandy

KariAnne, you are the ultimate RockStar! Your home is fabulous no matter the season. Adorable picture of you welcoming your blog readers to your fall home tour. I also congratulate you on your eight page spread in Better Homes and Garden Christmas Ideas magazine. You, your family, and your Christmas decor are beautiful. My love for fall is wrapped in our family Thanksgiving dinner. Fourteen to twenty-two guests have been at our table the past thirty-three years.

  46. Image for Sheila Sheila

It's so funny you listed fall "smells" first because that is my number one favorite thing about fall. Lovely fall decor by the way. I have not had a chance to do any fall fluffing yet. I know, that is a total shame, right?

  47. Image for Kris Kris

I'm giggling at myself because I was going to start by saying you look like you are wasting away ... then I thought of the song "Wasted away again in Margaritaville ... " and thought, that is NOT where I want to go with this comment--but I figured you would be amused by my tangential thoughts and would laugh. So ... now that I've babbled ... you look mah-velous, dah-ling, and I want to snuggle under a plaid blanket on your porch and smell fall and listen to the wind. :)

Hello from Christchurch, New Zealand! In my heart of hearts I'm more of a summer girl, I'm originally from sunny South Africa and find myself too close to Antartica. But in saying that I do appreciate a beautiful home and you have a lovely warm enviting one with many great ideas. Since we've immigrated to a rural community nothing says summer here better than beautiful hydrangeas but this year I'm buying myself some to dry for fall next year. You might have swayed me to think that sweater weather ain't so bad!

  49. Image for Bluwatergal Bluwatergal

KariAnne ~ the house is beautiful (as always) AND your welcome picture steals the show! Too, too cute!! My faves are the gold & cream toile pumpkins. Only you could do toile pumpkins. I'm a spring/summer girl, AND so for me this season revolves around football, tailgates & Thanksgiving! Can't wait to see what Thanksgiving looks like at Thistlewood ~~~ Bwg

Everything's looks wonderful...especially that centerpiece! I have too many fall favorites to just name one. Sweater weather though is at the top...love that crispness in the air! The angle of the sun as it filters into my home....drinking Scottish blend tea while reading my latest mystery book. And right now, there's the furious feeding at my hummingbird feeders....dozens of them as they try to fatten up for their southern flight! ( I'm filling my feeders every other day...and I have four!). I've spent hours watching all the activity! Our subdivision is surrounded by marshland...but still in the city...so it's sort of like being in the country! Thanks for the tour...your daughter is darling! ;)

  51. Image for Jane Jane

I LOVE the way you wrote this post...not just the usual tour and ya-da, ya-da about how this was found, or how that was made (although you are the crafter extraordinaire!) like some tours. So cute and you hit those fall senses and feelings right on the head. I have a candle called "Sweater Weather" burning right now! Heavenly. And you look Heavenly. And Happy! Look at all these positive compliments. We don't lie!! Jane xx

I am so inspired!!! Unfortunately it is still insufferably hot here in Phoenix and it does cool off-eventually. I can't wait to start decorating. Thanks for all the great ideas! I'm still trying to find out how you did the toile pumpkins-beautiful!

I love the shoes and you do look really happy to open your door...now...I bet if you saw me and my 3 sons standing on the other side you'd be slamming that door shut and you'd be pretending you weren't home...that smile would be soooo gone....they...the boys...not me....tend to be a bit wild. Nothing in your home would be safe from their wrestling....have you seen the holes in my walls???? Of course you haven't...those are the pictures I don't show of my house...yet! Thanks for the tour and the smiles, KariAnne!

KariAnne ... yours is the most beautiful, "OMGosh I love white," Fall decor I have seen! We all know that we can count on you for the loveliest, warmest presentation ever. I can't wait for each picture as it appears! You look stunning ~ and your 1950's mini-me is the cutest! My favorite Fall thing is the mere thought of c o o l! "Sweater Weather" is what we call it, too! AND, with that, the leaves, the apples, the cinnamon, the baking ... the cooking, and FAMILY!!! I could go on and on, but it's really that it's the signal of the start of the Holiday Season!

You must have a speed reader for all your comments who hands you summaries!! This is an elegant and yes different than last year fall look. I did it differently this year. I got rid of a huge bag of stuff. I just did not want anymore. I'm also wanting to tell you I had a date!! And afterwards my cute hubby said, Sure we can go to Barnes and Noble to get the magazine you want!! And I was sooo excited to savor it!! And slowly read your article and tell the people reading their mags for free that a blogger I follow has HER house featured in this magazine but I refrained!! But I told my sister, friend and daughters!!!! They agreed that it was a very cool thing indeed :-)

I soooooo hope I get to meet you one of these days.....this post just makes me smile and sigh.. and smile and sigh.. Just beautiful !!!!! I "LOVE" the smell of fall too!!! I love soft colorful throws on the couch or an easy chair...I love the ever so slight change in the air.. ( this won't happen until probably Nov. around the Sunshine State) I love Fall Decor... I kind of go overboard a bit.. but I can't help it.. It all reminds me that I'm soon (October) headed to my beloved Smokey Mountains ( to a small place in the countryside) to spend some amazing "Fall Days" with our Bestie!!!.. I never, ever , ever tire of the gorgeous colors on the trees... country roads all lit up with oranges and reds and yellows!!!! :) ... Can you tell this is my FAV time of the year!! lol

Love those little felt acorns, too cute. I LOOOOOOVE Fall; the smells, the weather when it is JUST cool enough for a sweater, the tastes of soups, stews, chili etc; football!!!, and the COLORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love to decortae for Fall cause those are MY colors. I LOVE being outdoors in the Fall too.

KariAnne, your home is always a stunner, but I do believe you've outdone yourself with your Fall styling! it looks so wonderful. it's pretty tough for me to list my absolute favorite-ist thing about my favorite season, but if I had to choose it would be the combined smell of rain and burning wood in the air as I picture all the families in my neighborhood snuggling down for the evening under their favorite blankie, nibbling a pumpkin cookie and watching the flames dance in their fireplace. oh, did I mention college football? :-)

In the northeast it's country fair time. Even though I live the suburbs it's just a quick drive to somewhere a little rural where we can enjoy crafts, rides, animals, music and the best part - apple fritters, apple crisp, fried dough and funnel cakes. By the way, YOU LOOK INCREDIBLE! The hair, the body, the shoes - all of it amazing.

The heat is finally gone...well at least by Halloween. Here in the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix) it doesn't really cool off till mid October. But everything is gorgeous then till maybe April. Soooo the best part of Fall is its actually beginning:)

You have a beautiful, welcoming smile : ) and your rooms seem to be smiling too from all their lovely Fall goodness. Love your helper ala Donna Reid. Too sweet!

Wow, your home is stunning as always, you look amazing (love the curly hair), and your idea of Fall is spot on! I have to add one to my list... Bus exhaust... Yup, growing up in Canada, Fall came early and starting a new school year coincided with the feeling of Fall. The smell of bus exhaust totally takes me back, lol!

My list is very similar...and in fact, I was just starting to recall it as I drove to pick up my daughter from track this afternoon. It takes all of those reminders for me to get excited about Fall. If I lived where the air was truly crisp and the leaves were brilliant gold and orange and red...it might have more appeal. But we do call the few crisp, cool days we have sweater weather, too. My favorite two pictures of your home tour are you and your daughter. I see a little Karianne in her eyes!

Love your deck and the view is phenomenal! You have a great smile and gorgeous hair I just have to say. Fall is definitely my favorite time of year, but living in Phoenix I don't get the great seasons like a lot of you do. We're still in the dog days of summer!

Always love, love, love your house but especially love your seasonal touches. And you are absolutely beautiful -- inside and out!

KariAnne, you have a beautiful house and I love all the fall decor! I came to your website via Dukes & Dutchesses Fall Garland post that listed your Felt Acorn Garland, which I just loved! I love fall for so many of the reasons you listed here. My favorite would probably be the crisp fall smell and pure feeling that over-comes the air. I think deep down I am a country girl (I was raised in the country), but still being in my early twenties different cities have been calling my name for the past few years. So I am currently living in Madrid, Spain! It's lovely here but...Spain's fall is missing something special that the Northern USA autumns provide :) Anyways, I'm excited to have met you and your blog. I can't wait to come back for more visits!

I am absolutely in love with your blog and decorating abilities! It was fabulous meeting you last week when you dropped into the UK Extension office! A little birdy of a secretary, named Christy, told me you had an amazing blog and that I would just stand in awe of your style and creativity once I explored it, and boy-oh-boy was she right! So naturally, I creeped it! ;) As the new FCS agent for Livingston I hope to be seeing much more of you and hopefully having you to come speak at a future workshop(s). With a BS in Interior Design and a background in the textile & furniture industry, my interest is now piqued! I look forward to getting to know you further Mrs. KariAnne!

I love your home, just beautiful and welcoming for fall. You have the most creative ideas but best of all they are ideas most of us can do. I LOVE makeovers, any kind, because it gives us hope that we can achieve the same thing. I have always loved your home and I am really enjoying watching your own personal makeover. It gives me hope, as I was ready to make something not so healthy for lunch I viewed your new fall tour photo at the door on your post and it inspired me to stick with my makeover plan for myself. I hope you might consider sharing some of your secrets to success in this personal endeavor even if it is over in your forum area. My favorite of fall is more indoor time nesting as a family with all the wonderful smells and delicious soups, and while I am working on my own makeover being able to layer clothing helps me feel more confident. You look amazing and your daughter is so adorable!

Very very nice.....did you make the two pumpkins sitting by the lamp with the sorta paisley pattern? If not, do you have a source to share??

Have to add my two cents worth! That picture of you with your movie star smile and that beautiful hair was simply too cute! Loved it! You were just bubbling with style and enthusiasm! May God bless you for how you encourage and entertain us with your blog. We need to have fun!

Always love your decorating style. The front door sign is great and love the white wooly acorn and the acorn wreath. Donna Reed is pretty cute too!

LOVE your list (and your home, of course). Fall has one million good things about it - football season, changing leaves, coziness and a little later, EGGNOG. Can't wait.

I know I'm late to the party but I finally got a chance to check out the tour- you look marvelous!!! Go girl! Your house looks wonderful too with lots of great ideas. And congrats on the BHG feature hitting the stands- headed to my little grocery store this weekend to pick up a copy!

I'm a rather newbie follower, less than a week, found you from pinterest. Not that you where lost, but what a find! Growing up in Arkansas, Fall always meant football, sweater weather, and (my favorite) leaves turning. Oh, how I would love to drive to White Rock so I could see the valleys of amazing color. Now days, I live in Oklahoma, the tree colors are just as beautiful, but no valley views in my area. Instead I settle for our tree lined dirt road, watching in the review as the leaves kick-up and fly around. As the nights come earlier, we love to sit on the tailgate at the pond and listen to the sounds of the night while watching the stars twinkle and if we get lucky we might just get to make a wish on a falling star. Yep, I'm 48 and still wishing on stars. I wonder if that is something you ever grow out of?? I hope not. Above all my favorite 2 things about Fall, no mosquitoes or humidity!!!
