Once upon a time there was a craft room.
Don’t you just love stories that start like that….
…..and end with happily ever after?
Stories about a gate house with a tanning bed room that was rescued from a castle tower….after it let down it’s long golden hair.
A tanning bed room transformed with craft room chairs and a craft room desk and a craft room chalk board and plenty of craft room organization.
And a plethora of old tanning bed electrical outlets.
*sigh*
Me, too.
You know the joy that you have when you round the corner and there’s this yard sale sign and it’s written in really bright letters with words like “25 family yard sale” and “tons of stuff”….and you turn your car where the arrow on the sign points….fully expecting to be a little disappointed and just see old sorority t-shirts.
Except you don’t.
You see milk glass and wooden chairs and tables and an old vintage sign and your heart starts to race…..and then you try to prevent yourself from running towards the sale because then everyone would know that you were really interested and charge you more….
….but you are so full of joy that you start skipping?
This craft room is even better than that.
Do you remember where we started?
Do you remember what it looked like?
Here’s the before…..
And here’s the glorious wonderful golden-haired after.
Finally…all the craft supplies have found a home.
I mean seriously…..did you see the gift wrap station?
And the paint brushes and note pads and washi tape and straws.
And the bingo letters.
And the stencils and ribbon and the cute pink coordinating tools?
Did you see the peg board?
And the best part?
Wait until you see what the craft room inspires?
Wait until you see what I’m planning for fall.
I’m making wooden leaves and monogrammed wooden bowls with these really cool wood burning stencils and pallet wood letters and a gilded leaf wreath.
And about a million more ideas.
I love once upon a time.
I love romance.
And I love happily ever afters.
But seriously…..who needs a prince rescuing you from a castle tower…..
….when you have boxes of scrap book paper and washi tape. 🙂

How much do you charge for this service? Inquiring minds want to know.....I keep oxygen handy for those who faint in horror at my studio door.
That is funny, Lorraine, I should keep oxygen handy too. Mine is a huge mess...but with potential. Great potential, in the mean time, that oxygen tank will be necessary. :)
I love the room! I wish I had just a little of your genius! I took a peek at the fabric and I can't wait to see what you do with it.

So gorgeous Kari~ Love the bold colors and all those fabulous details!!
I remember that day when my wonderful cousin sent me the link to this little blog her friend was doing . . . What a good cousin! :) You, my dear are the rock star. I love this little room, and it's inspiring me . . . I have a little room between two bedrooms - probably used to be a sewing room - that I basically use as an extension of my closet. Pegboard on one section for jewelry, anyone? Hey Ethel, I have an idea . . . ;)
WOW! WOW! and WOW! Karieanne, it is fantabulous! I love the colors!
I love it, Karianne! From the color scheme to each little organized bit. Love the wrapping paper station. I set one up myself just outside my craft room {because it is just way too small to fit one more thing in there!}.
Karianne, Very cute and fun design!
A craft room...one can only dream. A room like this a fantasy beyond belief! KariAnne this is jaw dropping gorgeous, wow!!
Remember that time you helped me organize my craft closet?! "Nice attempt, but..." hahaha you were so kind =) Miss you friend!
All I can say is ....WOW! This is too neat. I am afraid I wouldn't be able to craft in this room because I would be sitting there saying over and over...I am so lucky..isn't this the best...I am so lucky...isn't this the best...Ahhh! I would then wake up from my dream to my own craft room. It's nice..or at least I thought it was til I saw this. I, too, have craft room envy! Great job!!
Ob.Sessed! Obsessed, obsessed, obsessed! I love the color palette, the pegboard wall, the wrapping station, the pink chairs, the pillows, the everything! My husband is going to hate how many times I show him this, and ask for the same thing ;)
Amazing!!! Can you come and decorate my office just like that! I think I would be far more creative! This craft room is so girly and pink and fabulous!
seriously, I don't know if I love you or hate you. I just want to smack you in the face! this is so adorable and your happily ever after story is what i want to curl up in your black and white chair and read every night. ahh. paper and washi tape. we should be closer to each other. you could come to the smoking glue guns nights. i'm building a craft hut outside moonglowlake house. it will be fantastic and you will come and we will make things out of crafty supplies.

THIS is way cute...just makes ya want to jump right into that room and stay there for awhile!!!
YOU ARE JUST MAGICAL! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT =)
I am so incredibly happy for you! There is just something spectacular about having ones own designated creative space. I have an oversized utility room for my studio and I feel like the Queen of Sheeba. It's such an insane blessing and luxury here in Northern Virginia to have space like that. I have to say though, my husband and I have talked more than once about having the Amish build me a studio shed in the back yard. Sometimes I just lay back, close my eyes and dream about it. And I have totally been to that garage sale. I was the one speed walking with the look of contorted rapture on my face, trying to act casual. That was a good day. Thanks or reminding me.
What a fun and inspiring space you created. Happy Crafting.
You have done it again! Love this room...my heart is still fluttering! You are truly the rock star girl!
This craft room is so gorgeous! This is such an inspiring place to work.
Wow! You could just move in there with your bed and a fridge, and then tack an ensuite on, and you'd never have to leave!!! :-)
Just LOVE it!! What fun to have a room like this to create in!!! And...the colors ROCK! Mine is black/white with purple...but I'm LOVING yours!!! Can't wait to see what happens next :)
I am in love. LOVE. LOVE. And awash in jealousy. Gorgeous!!!!
AHHHHHHMAZING!
Holy moly good great craft room! I just got a 12x12 shed that is transforming in to my soon to be dream studio! Today I painted the walls a pale grey and am about to work on all the white joists/exposed beams. You totally just inspired a peg board wall. GREAT IDEA! I would love it if you would come share this make over with my readers at the weekly party! https://gracelangdon.blogspot.com/2013/09/making-monday-4.html
Oh dear me, talk about "in love"! Would you come do my craft closet pleasssse?? I'm stuck, but you have given me new hope to finish strong! Love the pegboard idea!! The colors are fabulous, and I can't wait to see what creations come out of there. You ROCK!! xoxo
Oh, how I wish I had a gatehouse to escape to...a mom cave house! Its fresh, happy, and lovely! Amazing work!
Hi There, I recently discovered you blog via another blog I follow....I think it was Southern Style, and I am tickled that I did.....You are nothing short of Ammmaaazing. I am an artist myself, but seeing how your mind works makes me feel like I have not yet event tapped the surface. Here is my question. I notice on your blog your wit and writing makes me feel like we are talking over coffee. Loooove it. But, I notice that you don't often share sourcing from your designs or detail of how you arrived at your final product. Is that your style of blog and would you share any details if we asked about anything in these rooms of devine that you create. Thanks!
Hi KariAnne - could you please tell me how the pink lettering was done on the white storage bins on the shelves of the Craft Room? I always thought those uncovered bins would work for all my sewing supplies, and it would cost much less than covered bins or boxes! Thanks so much in advance!! Winnie
HEAVEN. IN. A. ROOM!!!
Love Love Love it! Found your site while looking for ideas for my new craft/sewing room. Have you looked at the Thirty-one catalog? They have the black big dot pattern - monogram with hot pink & it's a wrap! Thanks for sharing your room!
Just wanted to pop in to thank you for letting us share you pretty craft space at Creative Storage Ideas. The post went live today, hope it brings some visitors your way!
Silly me that should read Craft Storage Ideas!!
Please, give us more! I am craving a step-by-step tour with resources for where you purchased things! Beautiful!
Hi, your craft room is both adorable and inspiring. I can't help but ask though--what are the 4 black & white dotted items hanging between the ribbon & the letters on the peg board? Curiousity is getting the best of me.
Looks perfect!!! I'm working on my craft room... This is very inspirational!!! How big is this room?!?!
Is it just me being terribly SPOILED or what. While I absolutely love the look of your crafting room, it wouldn't serve me well at all. I have SOOOOO many supplies I couldn't possibly organize them with such small storage areas. Where do you store your 10 zillion rubber stamps, your various types of glue, your paints, your different kinds of pens, your PAPER stash bigger than the local craft store, your Silhouette machine, your Sizzix Big Kick, paper cutter, your embossing folders, your Pan Pastel chalks, your books printed in other languages used to make interesting backgrounds for cards and scrapbook papers, your ribbon, etc? How about all your Spellbinders, Sixxiz dies, your printer ink, your brads and various purchased and self-made embellishments while they await being used? How about your pens, pencils, rulers, scissors, paint brushes, etc? I wish somebody would post pics of how a deranged, craft near-hoarder like me stores THEIR supplies while keeping their craft rooms attractive, useable and fun!
Beautiful! What is the size of this space?
