Small white pots with motivational phrases hold colorful knitted flowers and are displayed in the open drawers of a wooden cabinet, with small decorative house ornaments on top.

Today is the day.

It’s the event to celebrate Mother’s Day with all the vintage and handmade amazingness.

We’ve been working on our booth for the last couple of days, and today is the first day of Vintage Market Days in McKinney.

If you are local?

It’s at Myers Park and Event Center in McKinney.

You can see all the details here.

But if you aren’t local?

I thought it would be fun to take a tour of the booth.

(total aside: this is our second booth EVER and we are still trying to figure it out and just between us? We still aren’t really sure what we are doing. Hee hee. I just wanted to manage expectations before I took you on a tour.)

And now?

Here’s our 2026 spring Mother’s Day Vintage Market Days Booth.

A display of farmhouse-themed home decor, including miniature houses, potted plants, books, framed art, and moss bunnies, is set against a pegboard wall with "thistlewood" and "grow" written in script.

A cozy booth display with decorative mini houses, framed art, a vintage-style calendar showing 251, floral pillows, baskets, faux flowers, and gingham tablecloths, all arranged on shelves and tables.

A display table with small decorative wooden houses, mostly red and white, on checkered and polka-dot cloths. A large wooden ampersand and the word "Grow" are featured, with shelves and more décor in the background.

Here’s what you see when you walk up to the front of the booth.

Just like our shop?

It’s a whole lot of handmade.

There are some FANCY booths here with FANCY signs and elaborate setups (which are amazing).

But here at Thistlewood & Co? We are a little more DIY. Westleigh painted the sign for our booth on wrapping paper. For our backdrop, we are using pegboard walls that my husband and his father built.

A small bird's nest with two white eggs is attached to a woven basket. The nest is decorated with a brown and white checkered ribbon and sits on a wooden surface.

Two small canvases on mini easels; the front canvas has a wooden "hello" sign on a white, rustic background, and the back canvas features an illustration of a tree. Both sit on a polka-dot surface.

A close-up of a woven basket decorated with a round patch featuring a hand-painted green wreath, dotted brown accents, and a brown gingham ribbon tied in a bow at the top.

A small wooden house with a red door sits beside a distressed white flowerpot containing green artificial plants, all placed on a vintage wooden cabinet with a rustic, shabby-chic style.

A woven basket holds a framed board with wooden letter tiles spelling out "CHOOSE JOY" on a burlap background. The frame is decorated with small round beads.

Small white pots with crocheted pink and purple flowers sit on open wooden drawers. Each pot has a positive phrase like “keep it growing” or “cultivate joy.” The scene is bright and cheerful.

Here’s the table that you see when you walk up to the booth.

We made almost everything in the booth.

Look at these crochet flower pots with words of wisdom.

And these handpainted flower pots.

And these handpainted baskets with tags.

And these tiny handpainted canvases with topiaries.

A framed floral art piece with fabric flowers and a ribbon bow sits on an easel. The background features a delicate leaf pattern. A small house decor and greenery are visible nearby.

A small canvas with a painting of a potted plant sits on an easel. Next to it is a white pot with green artificial plants and a label that reads "just breathe." Both items are displayed on a shelf.

Several small wooden chalkboards with scalloped edges and checkered ribbon bows are arranged upright in a woven basket. The chalkboards have blank labels at the top for writing.

A round white plate with small green tree designs and a beaded rim is placed inside a woven wicker basket. Other similar plates are stacked behind it.

We have two pegboard walls with bookcases on either side that I lined with wrapping paper.

And these painted topiary trays.

And these chalkboard houses with chalkboard labels.

And this embroidered artwork with felted flowers.

A linen-covered book or journal with white floral designs, tied with a black and white gingham ribbon and a metal label reading "spread inspire," resting on a white wooden surface.

A small wooden easel holds a sign that says "Texas" in cursive. Surrounding it are rustic decor items, including a house figurine, wooden shapes, an old postcard, and a textured heart made from paper.

A wooden-framed sign with burlap backing displays the words “SPREAD SUNSHINE” spelled out with wooden letter tiles in two rows. The sign sits on a shelf next to a woven basket.

I added these checked plastic tablecloths and we all have matching aprons that are khaki linen with big pockets.

I’m working the booth with Westleigh and my sister Whitney came in for the weekend.

Whitney has done tons of shows and craft events so she spent yesterday evaluating the booth and offering super helpful advice that I may or may not have taken.

I”m stubborn when it comes to displays.

(total aside: Whitney, I did end up putting all the embroidered pillows together so if they don’t sell you can tell me you were right).

A display of three decorative butterflies in different colors—purple, orange, and pink—mounted vertically on a burlap-covered frame, set on a beaded wooden stand.

A white quilted pillow with a fabric appliqué of a purple and cream flower and green leaves, displayed in a light-colored bin. A brown gift tag is attached to the pillow.

A small white pot labeled "keep it growing" holds pink and yellow knitted flowers with green leaves, placed on a wooden drawer unit background.

It was so much fun crafting together.

We made these butterfly signs.

And these word signs.

We also have a big bucket of scrabble letters that you can use to make your own word art.

A small handcrafted model of a red schoolhouse with white and black details, made from wood and set against a black background with a light wood frame, standing on a polka-dotted surface.

A display table with small decorative wooden houses, mostly red and white, on checkered and polka-dot cloths. A large wooden ampersand and the word "Grow" are featured, with shelves and more décor in the background.

A small, handcrafted wooden model of a building features a clock, four windows, and a detailed triangular pediment above a central door, all painted in black and white with decorative gold accents.

A white decorative egg with textured scales sits in a small twig nest, adorned with a brown gingham ribbon and paper tags that read "create, tell the story." Greenery and wood textures are visible in the background.

We are so excited for today.

Slightly sad that I can't be there in person. I prefer handmade over fancy seven out of seven days of the week. Those crochet flowers!! I'd definitely be thinking of who to gift them to (me, me, I pick me!). The suggestion I have has more to do with the items themselves--I prefer decor without words on it. I often pass up purchasing things because of the inspirational sayings on them. A tag with a flower or small animal (like a bird or turtle) would be much more appealing to me. That's just my preference, and I think you have a stunning booth and a great selection of goods to sell. Best wishes!

Please add to your online shop the birds made of books, also the house that are just one dimensional. I bought from your shop several little house 🏠, the one's I'm seeing appear to be not dimensional. Also more flower pots with inspiration sayings, not all large, some medium and small. To be truthful, every item I'm seeing needs to be added to your online shop, I understand some items are already in the shop. You all did an incredible job. I'm so proud of everyone's hard work and your so fortunate that you are growing your business side by side with your family. Faith and Family!
