Looking for simple budget spring decor ideas?  Here are 21 ideas including a moss runner, DIY topiary, spray painted basket and simple flower arrangement.

I think those are two of my favorite words on this planet.

Budget.

Spring.

Just look how lovely they are together.

And when I read them?  I think of one thing.

YARD SALE SEASON.

I’m trying to think about spring and budget sales and warm weather and flowers and sunlight dancing across the yard because I’m cold.  It’s 29 degrees here in Texas and we don’t do well with any temperature with a 2 in front of it.  I spent 30 minutes this morning trying to find mittens and a scarf before I took the kids to school.

You are probably laughing right now.  You’re thinking…girrrrrllll….29 degrees?  Please.  We are under four feet of snow right now.

I get it.

I understand.

This post today is meant to brighten our days and warm all our hearts and help us see the light at the end of the winter tunnel.

Here are 21 budget spring decor ideas just for you.

moss table runner

This is such a simple spring project and perfect for bridal showers or a spring table.

It’s moss.

You know.

The kind that comes in a roll.

The kind that you pick up in the craft store and have no idea what to do with it.

Why not make a runner?

Here’s the simple DIY.

Twig vase

If you have a glass vase and twigs, this is the project for you.

Our yard is full of twigs like this that winter left behind.

When life hands you twigs, why not make a vase.

Here’s the DIY for this budget spring decor idea.

DIY topiary

To make this topiary all you’ll need is a pot of ivy and a wire coat hanger.

I know the coat hanger might be hard to find.  We mostly have plastic here.

Check with your local dry cleaners.

And then?

Follow these simple DIY instructions.

DIY burlap bow

This DIY takes minutes.

Literally.

And it makes one of the prettiest, simplest, BIGGEST bows for your spring decor.

The key is in the ribbon.  You can find all types of 5″ burlap ribbon at your local craft store.  One roll will make two of these bows.

See the DIY instructions here.

pom pom pillow

This simple pom pom pillow is made with fabric glue and tassels.

These white pillow covers zip up and you can find them at IKEA for only $6.99.

Here’s the simple DIY.

watering can flower arrangement

All you need for this simple spring budget idea is a watering can and a bunch of grocery store flowers.

Take a piece of wet foam and insert into the center of the watering can (this one came from Target from Joanna Gaines line).

Then cut the end of the flowers and arrange them in the can.

I’ve seen a fun flower arrangement done with umbrellas, too.

coffee filter flower

Nothing says budget like coffee filters.

And the best part?

They make the cutest flowers.

Here’s a simple DIY on how to dye the coffee filters and make roses.

decorate with branches

I created my spring mantel and realized I needed green.

As in branches.

This is just a simple glass vase filled with leaves.

That’s it.

As in FREE.

Sometimes the best budget spring decor ideas are the ones you don’t overthink.

Vintage Papers

decorate with book pages

I found a vintage encyclopedia and decided to decorate with these pages.

You can make your own hanger.

It’s just a plaque from the unfinished wood section of Hobby Lobby.

We painted it white and attached these clips from the office supply store.

And then I clipped on some book pages.

simple embroidery hoop arrangement

This is such an easy arrangement.

I’ve seen the cutest embroidery hoop wreaths that hang on the wall.

I took the same idea and made a table arrangement.

Here’s the simple DIY.

flower basket

I made this flower basket for my spring decor.

It’s actually 1/2 of a flower bunch from Trader Joe’s.

Place wet floral foam inside the basket and cut the ends of the flowers and tuck them inside.

You can see four other ideas for decorating with this window here.

And a fun idea to decorate this basket here.

burlap flower

I’ve seen these in stores before for $15 or more.

But why pay that much?

Especially when you can just make your own.

See the simple DIY here.

I hope you found a little budget spring inspiration.

I hope it warmed your heart.

I hope your spring decor is as amazing as you are.

And just remember.

Even though it’s cold today?

Warmth and sunshine and YARD SALES are just around the corner. 🙂

Thank you for your Spring inspiration. I don’t hate Winter, but this year I am ready for Spring and warmer weather. I had total knee replacement in December and now I’m ready to get out and walk and enjoy the weather. I live in Kentucky, so it’s been cold here. I needed your Spring talk today. 😊 Thank you! ♥️

Karianne, I am making those coffee filter roses. Actually I'm wondering how to make something smaller to look like cherry blossoms. I have some old branches, and want flowering ones for a large vase. Our peach and apple trees are blossoming but I don't want to cut off healthy branches and flowers that will soon become fruit. Have you done anything that looks like cherry blossoms with tissue or coffee filters?

Hahahaha, branches with greenery. We're a good month away from that around here .... but it is a great idea! I especially like your ideas that incorporate color--I'm getting tired of white and black and grey and brown. Happy almost-spring!

Cold is relative. It was 55 degrees this am here in Fla. My family up north mock me. But, when it was 88 degrees just last week, 55 degrees feels cold. 29 degrees is cold wherever you are.

Hey KariAnne - thanks for the springy post! Here in Iowa we were at 30 degrees yesterday and had a party! It just felt so warm compared to the below zero wind chills - however I think our blood is little thicker here - we actually get used to it. LOVE the look of the moss table runner I may cheat and just use the mats -skip the weaving. I do have a question though - do you or any of your readers have a solution to the shedding problem? My moss just gets pretty messy. Maybe polyurethane spray?

Wow, last week’s winds were so strong they knocked down my neighbor’s pine onto power wires which carried down a transformer. Fifteen houses on my street suffered three days without power. Our house temperature was 46 degrees by the third day. Some neighbors bought generators, some went to motels, and some added an extra covering or two to their beds. When reality hits, you realize the sufferings of those who have lost everything due to hurricanes, tornadoes, and wild fires. My prayers will always continue for them.

Hi Karianne! I love all your new spring ideas, they’re all so cute! Something else I love is your new book! I just received mine and have been reading it. Turns out there is a name for the way I like to decorate, it’s called transitional! Yay! Finally I know what to call it! 😁. I’ve learned it’s OK for me to like several styles of decor, I just thought I was too confused for help! Your book has really helped me and opened my eyes to new ideas! Thank you, thank you, thank you for your wonderful book! I hope it reaches the New York Times best seller list and more! I’m really enjoying reading it. Good job, Karianne!
