This Thanksgiving day I am thankful.

I am so thankful and blessed to be living my dream.

And every day…..every single day…..my blessings spill over….tumbling and turning and swirling and twirling into the crisp cool country air.

So today….I want to pause and give thanks and count a few of my blessings.

So here…in no particular order are 12 thankful thoughts I had today as I was driving the winding Kentucky roads:

1.  I’m thankful that we have salamanders and the people that love them that live here at thistlewood.

2.  I’m thankful the salamanders stay outside.

3.  I’m thankful for international harvesters and hay trucks and the hay that covers the road and the cows that eat the hay.

4.  I didn’t realize how thankful I was for piles of hay and harvesters and barns and cows until we drove in New York City.  Yikes 🙂

Fall Mantel

5.  I’m thankful for Pinterest and washers and soap bubbles….and stinky socks.

6.  I’m thankful for Wal-Mart that has bags of nice new clean white socks when you just can’t seem to get the gray ones clean.

7.  I’m thankful for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and that Kim seems to have gotten herself together and Lisa has a new home and Brandy got her cast off and that the new housewife who used to be a model and now is married to a famous song-writer has joined the show.  I think she will keep it interesting.

8.  I’m thankful that when I’m not watching the Housewives of various cities all over the country…..the Hallmark channel and my hero, Larry Levinson, have a never-ending stream of a little sappy….always sweet…..Christmas movies.

9.  I’m thankful for this blog and I wish I could put myself up for adoption into their family.

10.  I am thankful for all the pilgrims and the settlers and the Shakers and the Quakers and the adventurers and so many people who suffered such hardship to establish this incredible nation.

11.   I am thankful that Christmas comes right after Thanksgiving and that I am sleeping in and shopping on-line on Black Friday.

12.   And I am thankful for you.

Yes……you.

Sitting here…..having pumpkin spiced latte or sparkling water or tea or diet coke…..with me.

Do you have any idea the incredible blessing you are to me?

Truly.

Your words, your encouragement, your honesty, your generosity and your smiles.

Your smiles (and an occasional chortle or two) are the best.

So thank you my wonderful friends…..

…..and have a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving.  🙂

PS  Today I love thankfulness and turkey and family and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade…..but tomorrow….seriously….I am ALL about the Christmas decorating!  Hope to see you then!

Happy Thanksgiving! I am currently sitting here watching as the sky turns golden through the fog strewn fields. Grateful that my husband hasn't had to deploy in years now, for the cup of coffee he just brought me, for friends who opened their home to us so that we could share the day with them, for family who are all hundreds of miles away, for a son who has a job in this precarious economy even if he does have to work today, thankful that he has a job to go to no matter how few hours he is given, and thankful for you my friend, we have never met in person but that doesn't change the fact. Have a wonderful day and year to come!!

And I am thankful that you chose to become my friend and see the humor of it all when I had my messy house melt down after seeing your amazingly lovely home. Your comment that day will remain at the top of my "most exciting blog moments ever" list. I have so enjoyed reading Thistlewood Farms and getting to know you bettter, one day at a time. thankful for you too; I enjoy reading about your little part of the world. :) And later when the hubs has recovered from his feasting, we're getting the Christmas stuff down so tomorrow I can decorate for Christmas too. Ah, I love this time of year. Can't wait to share it with you! Happy Thanksgiving!

  19. Image for Gwen Gwen

Ah yes. I wrote blessings from The Lord today in my black socks which by the way do not show dirt!!! And I also thanked God for the ways I am wonderfully made by Him---a friend taught me to do this one, its harder!! But daily I thank Him for creating me--kind of like we create projects--what if they could talk and only griped how we missed a spot of paint over here? And all the while it was how we'd created that piece to be--you know, chippy paint look and makes it more beautiful than ever...it's like that with God? Do I hurt Him when I criticize how He made me when He declares me His loving child? So I'm learning slowly to be thankful for me as God made me...my ears, my nose is good etc Happy Thanksgiving and the photos are gorgeous. What beauty in your photos! Thank you!"

Life is good and I'm thankful for my life that has been filled with so many blessings. Thank you for sharing with us your amazing talents. You make my day with your heartfelt posts. I have to share, when my husband and I were getting the turkey ready earlier today, he said do you remember the time you cooked the bird upside down and we thought all the meat was gone? We had a good laugh and I thought of you and some of your adventures in cooking. Happy Thanksgiving!
