I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I hope you were much smarter me and remembered you had to allow time to defrost your turkey.

Lots of time.

Like days and days and days.

Good thing the smiling friendly news anchors on Good Morning America reminded me….

….just in time to order the turkey from Cracker Barrel.

It was delicious. 🙂

Now while turkeys and Cracker Barrel and Thanksgiving and Good Morning America totally make for scintillating conversation…..

….are you aware that tomorrow is December 1?

I know….right?

I’m as surprised as you are.

Good thing I planned much better for December than the whole turkey thing.

You see….I am going to post every day for the entire first 12 Days of Christmas.

December 1-12.

Can you even believe it?

All Christmas….all the time.

KariAnne, you're the funniest! Looking forward to the 12 Days of Christmas! It will help to get me over the shock that tomorrow is Dec. 1st!

That's what happens when the calendar dictates the date of Thanksgiving - it sneaks up on you especially if you think Christmas comes AFTER Thanksgiving. Happy decorating and blessings to your family for a very thankful, family time. Love you!

I have never hosted Thanksgiving so I can't judge anyone's efforts! You obviously handled the situation perfectly, no surprise! Looking forward to the next 12 days :)

You smart girl! The last time I forgot how long a turkey takes to thaw I had to run out and buy a Ham....Can't wait for your 12 days of Christmas! XO, Christine

Those turkeys do take a long time to thaw. I put mine in the refrigerator Sunday morning, and the giblet bag was still encased in ice Thursday morning. Not too much though, and she was one tasty turkey. 85% of decorating was accomplished yesterday. We just need to get the ornaments on our main tree and a few things outside. Looking forward to your twelve days. It is my plan to share our decorations for the month beginning tomorrow. I hope to see your smiling face.

KariAnne, I would so love to know what color and technique you used on your master bed and the chairs right in front of it. Please, please? I am struggling with how to finish a cheap night table for my bedroom. I have considered color, something bright and white, but I am not happy with either...... also thought of a very soft blue. This little table I have already done a bit of work to make it more acceptable for me, but I need to get the blasted thing finished some year. I worked on it last summer......... yes, that long ago. And by now I have decided to add a shelf on the bottom of the extended (makeshift) legs I made... nothing fancy mind you. HELP?

Thank the lucky stars, for Cracker Barrel! Fortunately, Mr. wonderful, takes care of all things turkey! Even better, this year we went to my sister's house. Can't get better than that! The only thing was, she had about 12 of us bring desserts and I left with an extra pie to take home! Guess what I had for breakfast yesterday? Take care, Barbara

Kerrianne, This is going to be so much fun, I am really looking forward to the next 12 days! Now did you listen to some of the questions the Butterball Turkey Company Operators received regarding cooking and thawing a Turkey? It was just hilarious! Huggs, Nancy

My husband and I start on Dec 15 for the 10 days of the Elves...Each morning while in bed we give each other a very small gift....He loves snickers and I love cards from the dollar store to add to (sparkle) some times I give him a book or slippers. I guess what I am saying are things $20 or less.We have coffee and discuss with each other why we chose that gift. I LOVE it, instead of waiting for "The Day". We open from the family on Christmas Eve...10 Days of the Elves....Lots of fun. Try it......

Believe me, even though I am now 81 yrs. old, I clearly remember (like it was yesterday) my first Thanksgiving dinner at my house after I got married. Unlike KariAnne, I actually remembered to defrost the turkey, but it turned out that it was the first time I would be using the oven in our newly purchased house. We just couldn't understand why the bird didn't look like it was getting cooked. Well, turned out that the oven didn't work at all! So it wasn't getting cooked - No way No how!! I think it's called a learning curve!!!
