My UPS man is one of my best friends.

Seriously.

When you live in the middle of the country without stop lights and drive-through anything and gas station pizza is considered a delicacy….

….the luxury of having something delivered directly to your door is so lovely.

I’m used to checking sizes and measurements and placing painter’s tape on the floor to make sure the piece will fit in my home and ordering fabric samples to make sure the color is right.

When you live in the country it’s kind of a thing.

That’s why I’m so happy I discovered Interior Define, a company that specializes in custom made-to-order furniture on their website.

I’m an expert in custom furniture (remember the yellow couch with red flowers) and it can be super expensive when you go custom.  Interior Define?  Not so much.  The prices are about 30-40% less than other custom furniture sites.  You can customize the size, fabric and legs on almost every design they have.  Most pieces are available in 40-60 fabric options and the swatches are complimentary.  You can order them here.

And the best part?

The fabrics are so pretty.

I thought it might be fun if we designed a room around a few of them.

interior define fabric gray

Like this mod velvet option in the color “elephant.”

I’m thinking a structured sofa like one of these with a seagrass rug and an antique coffee table that came over on the Mayflower and a chandelier with a drum shade and stacks and stacks and stacks of books.

And a pillow with a bird pattern on it.

Or maybe stripes.

I’d let the couch tell me.

interior define swatch

Or this woven cloth fabric in the color Ivory.

I’m thinking a set of chairs like one of these in front of a vintage fireplace with the cutest original tiles and two library bookcases behind them.

I’d add gray linen pillows and a gray and white hand hooked rug with a faded pattern on it.

I’d make sure there was lots of dark wood to set off the light chairs.

interior define leather piece

Or oiled and waxed leather (it feels wonderful).

It might look perfect on a sofa with vintage looking legs like one of these here.

This makes me want to decorate with color.

Like red.

I’d have a study with a vintage desk and an old swivel chair and a faded tapestry rug with shades of red and light gray walls.

And a pewter table lamp.

And now are you ready?

I love it when you get on a roll with your stream-of-consciousness posts and your imagination runs rampant! I'd love the Caitlyn by Everygirl in my living room, maybe in the oxford blue. But that would mean redoing the whole room. Oh well, if that's what it takes!

  4. Image for Karen Karen

My daughter's keeping room in her new home needs two of the Rose by the Everygirl chairs in Midnight Blue with matte blackberry legs. Thanks so much for this new resource!

  5. Image for Anita Jackson Anita Jackson

Most of the styles are pretty ultra-modern compared to the styles in my home, although, I'm pretty partial to the Sloan Chaise, in the Coral Pebble Weave and Oiled Walnut with tapered Square legs. There are possibly other fabrics options I may choose such as the Mustard in Plush Sateen or the Ruby Heavy Cloth ( it is so Pretty!)

We are a military family, and as such, have held onto our couch for going on the 11th year (we hate to buy new and spend a lot, just to wonder if it will fit or work well at our next duty station, plus, moving companies are not always the most gentle with couches:) ).

  44. Image for Amber Foshay Amber Foshay

Oh, I love the Maxwell with the turned legs! And we could REALLY use some new furniture! We are currently using a sofa that has a broken arm (separating from the body so that you are in peril of falling into a deep, black hole) and the stuffing coming out that was scratched up by a wayward cat (and this beauty was snatched up for FREE! I know! Hard to imagine!!!) along with a $20 gold 70's beauty that I hoped I'd recover, then found out the 'guts' underneath have a fatal flaw so that if anyone leans back, the whole thing will tip backwards and leave you with your feet dangling in the air! Lol! We moved to our long-awaited farmhouse and it would be oh so nice to bring in a functional and pretty, new sofa!

  45. Image for Sue Sue

I have been dreaming of giving my living room a little up date. Not much- just replace the almost 20 year old barely used but out of style sofa and love seat! It's time. I had heard about Interior Define a few months ago and sent away for some fabric swatches. I could not get over how beautiful they were! There was one (don't recall which) that was like a linen weave but it had a shimmery effect to the fabric and was just lovely! I would choose this fabric for the Rose sofa. I would need a sofa and 2 side chairs and that adds up so this giveaway would be a big help! Thank you o much for this very generous giveaway! Gotta go pray that I win!
