In amazing news?
2023 was the year of problem-solving.
Just between us? So many times I live with things that totally get on my nerves. Like disorganization under the sink or a disorganized closet or stains I can’t get out of my slipcovers. Most of the time I kind of forget about things until I open the closet or try and find the paper towels under the sink or move a pillow and see a small stain I forgot about.
And I literally roll my eyes at myself.
So this year I decided ENOUGH. This was the year I decided when I saw a problem I was going to solve it.
So I researched answers and along the way discovered some amazing game-changing products.
Kind of the perfect way to start the year off right.
So just in case you haven’t heard about these products? I had to share. This is my top 10 list for today. I’m sharing top 10 lists this week with my friends Leslie and Janine.
Here are 10 problems I solved this year with these Amazon products.
I wanted to start off our solutions with some easy ideas to pack up all the Christmas stuff.
This is one of the most asked questions I get when I share my Christmas decorating ideas.
Where do you put all that stuff when it’s not Christmas? As I was packing everything and putting it away, I thought it might be helpful if I showed you how I packed it and what I used and the best ideas to keep all the Christmas decor neat and tidy until December rolls around again.
10. Smart tote labels
How can you tell what’s in a tote in the attic? It’s so frustrating when you don’t know what’s in all of your storage containers.
These are smart labels that you can add to your totes and just scan them and know what’s in the tote or box. Just add what’s in the box to the app and when you scan the label you can see in an instant what’s in there.

9. Christmas Tree Bags
I had so many problems with the tree. The boxes wouldn’t close and the tree didn’t fit back into the box and when we pulled down the boxes every year, it was a little precarious.
- My white trees turned yellow because they weren’t stored properly.
- Sometimes we couldn’t get it all back into the box and we’d leave the tree stand somewhere else in the attic and it would get lost and the tree would be tree standless.
- The tree branches were smushed and it took extra time to fluff them out the next year.
- The pinecones or extra decor on the branches would fall off.
Several years ago I got a tree that came with a bag that zipped. Until then I’d never used a bag before.
The bag is REALLY ROOMY and fits up to a nine-foot tree. It’s made of this amazing material that’s waterproof and dustproof and prevents friends in the attic from getting into the bag.
We’ve been using these bags for several years and you won’t believe the difference in the trees when you unpack them. It’s one of the best Christmas organization ideas.
If you have more than one tree bag, you can add these labels to the front of the tree bag and then just scan it to see which tree is there (living room tree, family room tree, etc.).
Here are some other tree storage options, too:
- this bag rolls to move it easily
- this is for a tree that just stays upright
- here is a two-pack of Christmas tree bags that’s even cheaper
- this is for storage for 12-foot trees
// wreath and bag set //
8. Wreath Storage Bags
Wreath storage can be a little bit of a challenging problem. We have tons of different types of wreaths for Christmas. There are the indoor wreaths like my ornament wreath that need special packaging. Then there are the wreaths on the outside of the house and the wreaths on the doors. For the outdoor wreaths, there are so many that I just hang them in plastic garbage bags on a rolling rack in the attic. Then for the rest of the wreaths, I use these wreath bags for each different set.
The instructions say two wreaths fit inside the bag, but I typically can fit three wreaths in each one. They have zippers on the outside edges and the bag is made of this amazing material that’s waterproof and dustproof and prevents friends in the attic from getting into the bag.
Here are some other Christmas organization ideas for wreath storage:
- these wreath bags are clear so you can see the wreath inside
- this set has over 4000 ratings and comes in a set of four
- this set is buffalo checked (so cute)
- this set is a plastic container instead of a bag (don’t forget the coupon)

7. Grout Pen
I think my bathroom tile is over 75 years old.
And that grout? WATCH OUT. It was so yellow. My problem? I was going to have to regrout the entire bathroom.
But instead, I found the perfect solution. Here’s the grout pen that I used instead.
It’s kind of a game-changer. The downstairs bathroom grout would NOT come clean no matter how hard I scrubbed and how much I cleaned it.
I found this grout pen that works just like a paint pen. You draw a line with it on top of your current grout and it looks so white and new. And it holds up, too. I used it several months ago and it still looks white and clean.
You can see the grout pen here.
6. Under the sink pull-out organizer
Where do you keep your sponge?
I used to keep it on the edge of the sink. I even ordered cute sponges that matched my kitchen. The challenge is that all sponges start out cute and then it’s downhill from there (can you tell I’m watching skiing as I’m typing this)?
The sponges get so icky after a while that I didn’t want them on the sink. So I’d put them under the sink and they’d get lost and glumpy and mix in with everything else. I’d be kneeling down trying to find the sponge or a cleaner or the dish soap or these cute blue and white reusable dish towels and I’d get so frustrated.
And then I found this pull-out organizer.
I’ve used it for about nine months now and I love it just as much as the first day it was installed. It keeps everything organized under the sink because you just pull it out to use it and put everything right back where it goes.
Every time I pull it out it makes me so happy.
5. Chair leg floor protectors
I have old wood floors in my house.
Older than the internet wood floors that need extra TLC.
The problem? Every time someone pulls a chair out or moves furniture around? It scratches the floor. But not now because I found these chair leg floor protectors.
They come in a set of 40 pieces for all the chairs in your house.
4. These food storage containers for the fridge
I eat so many fruits and vegetables (which are so expensive now) and I wanted to keep them fresh (and organized) in the fridge so they were ready at a moment’s notice. I want to bring them home from the grocery store, clean and wash them and put them into a container so I have them ready. Then there are no excuses not to eat them. I tried so many different containers and other products that are designed to make life easier and I figured out three things about myself:
- I really really like harder plastic for food storage containers. I think it cleans up better and holds up better over time and I like how clear and see-through it is.
- I am kind of picky about my plastic. I wanted to make sure I was using BPA-free plastic for food storage.
- I LOVE the snap-and-click with a container. You know. The whoosh when it seals and then the click when it clicks into place. It is SO satisfying.
These containers fit all that criteria and solve the problem for me.
I have two different sizes. These containers hold 3.2 cups.
// plate hangers //
3. These plate hangers
I was looking for ways to hang up my plates on the hutch (or even some of my Christmas decor) and I needed a simple hook to solve the problem.
I am so all about them.
I’ve used them for a while and they have worked for me without any problems.
2. Molly’s Suds
I found Molly’s Suds last year and it has changed the way I do laundry.
It’s a miracle worker.
It makes my sheets and towels and slipcovers whiter and brighter. I needed a quick solution for the stains on my slipcover and this product was the perfect solution. You can see the before and after of my slipcovers here.
// drawer organizers //
1. These drawer organizers
I posted about these a while back and they were my best-seller this year for two weeks in a row.
My challenge? My drawers were full of junk and stuff without a way to organize it. I’ve tried several different iterations of this product and these are by far the best value for the money. One of the best products that make life easier—they come in a set of 25 and there are four different sizes of containers so you have so many combinations and ways to set them up to fit any drawer. They have these little rubber feet on the bottom that completely hold them in place and prevent them from moving around and they even fit inside each other (you can see the small chalk bin and the small thumbtack bin actually fit inside the larger square bin).
With all the individual containers and compartments in the drawer, you can use something and put it right back in its own little container so it all stays neat.
I think it’s my new favorite thing.
Finding solutions to organizing challenges.
Here are just a few more of my favorite problem-solving products:
- these coat hangers
- these drawer dividers
- this travel makeup bag
- these water bottle organizers
- these under-bed organizers
