I love it when super nice things happen to super nice people.

My friend Sara from Simply Southern Cottage has such an incredible story. Her blog is all about restoring homes and building up her local town, Minden, Louisiana. She set out to rescue a home and in the process she kind of rescued herself.

You can read her story here.

A couple of months ago, I was lucky enough to visit her and visit Minden and hear about all the incredible things she is doing—including launching her own rug line.

Just between us? I am ALL ABOUT an affordable rug.

Especially one designed by one of my friends. Truly. If you want to refresh a room (or rooms)—one of the easiest places to start is with a new rug. When I first started decorating I’d save up all my pennies for rugs in my house. I’m not sure what happened over in rugland—but today?

The cutest, prettiest rugs are now SO AFFORDABLE.

And there are SO MANY to choose from—including some rugs I want to feature from Sara’s line.

Are you ready?

Let’s go shopping. 🙂

10 Of My Favorite Neutral Rugs for Fall

Number 1: geometric neutral rug

Look at this rug from Sarah’s line.

Isn’t it beautiful?

She named it after her town. It’s called “The Minden” and it’s so classic and pretty with its raised pattern and woven background. This is the 8′ x 10′ and it comes in several colors including blue and pink and gray. I ordered it in the beige.

You can see it here.

Number 2: cream and white rug in the entryway

This rug is so pretty because it has layers.

It’s really thick and the colors go so well in any neutral space. I actually have three of them in different places in the home and it has held up really well.

This rug is actually a 5’x 7′ but comes in TONS of different sizes and you can see a super similar version here.

number 3: distressed gray area rug

This was the first rug I bought for our family room. It’s a version of the blue and white rug in the living room except in ivory and silver. It’s so pretty with its distressed edges and pattern variations.

It’s a 12′ x  15′ but it also comes in tons of different sizes and colors.

You can see it here.

number 4: neutral checkerboard rug

Here’s another rug from Sara’s collection.

Isn’t this the prettiest neutral rug? It’s kind of like a seagrass rug, but so much softer.

The white checkerboard squares are raised and the darker checkerboard squares are woven.

You can see the rug here.

number 5: seagrass rug

And here’s one of my all-time favorites I used in the family room, too.

I had these seagrass rugs all over the farmhouse in Kentucky.

They are amazingly durable (although a little rough on bare feet sometimes).

You can see it in tons of different sizes here.

Number 6: patterned neutral rug

This rug is everything.

I cannot even tell you how brilliant it is in person. When I shared the before and after Color Of the Year post, so many of you asked about this rug.

The woven texture is absolutely amazing.

You can see it here.

Number 7: This neutral design rug

Isn’t this rug beautiful?

It’s from a collection with Rifle Paper Co.

The prettiest designed edge and an intricate design—just look closely and you’ll see how pretty it is.

You can see it here.

Number 8: natural fiber rug

Here’s another woven rug option that I used in my bedroom.

The pattern is absolutely beautiful and it holds up so well if you have dogs.

(I’m looking at you Buddy)

You can see it here.

Number 9: neutral scalloped woven runner

I had to include a scalloped runner from the kitchen in the round-up.

And this rug is SUPER AFFORDABLE at just a little over about $80 for a 96″ x 30″

Last time I shared it, the rug sold out TWO TIMES. Every time they’d get it back in stock, it would sell out again.

It’s in stock right now and it’s so cute in any room that needs a little personality

You can see it here.

Number 10: striped jute rug

This is the runner’s modern cousin.

I’ve been looking at this for a while and trying to figure out where to use it.

The pattern and texture are so fun and long-wearing, too.

You can see it here.

CONGRATULATIONS Sara. You are truly amazing and your rugs are so full of personality and perfection.

This was such a fun post to write for me.

I hope one of these rugs inspired you.

Be sure and let me know if you have any questions or need me to try and source something for you.

Beautiful rugs. Thank you. Im looking for a neutral rug for my bedroom. I am not a fan of jute, seagrass or natural fibers such as that. Horrible feel on the feet, hard to vaccum properly, changes color with moisture from and spills and cleanup. I have 2 and will be replacing them soon. But the other rugs are very nice. Thank you for the lovely read.

Karianne, the rugs in this post are beautiful . This is a post I'll be saving. The real reason I'm writing is because of something I saw on facebook this morning. There you were in a beautiful blue dress, big earrings and your great smile . It seemed like an ad for Noom. I was trying to save it and couldn't complete the save. I hadn't seen you address how you lost your weight on your blog. Is the ad legit ? Now I hope I see it again. LOVE your blog !

Eloise, Of course! Great question! It’s me!!!! I used Optavia to lose all the weight and now I’m using NOOM to reset my mindset towards food. Does that make sense? Happy day! KariAnne

Which of the rugs would you recommend for a bathroom? It would be covering the tile floor, to add comfort and character. Thank you! I love them all.
