Five random thoughts on a chilly fall morning in Kentucky.

1.  I think a really good font makes the day look brighter.

2.  Tonight is day light savings time.  I never met an extra hour of sleep I didn’t like.

3.  What is up with the names on the coke bottles?  I’m always having a diet coke with someone named Amy.

4.  I have it on good authority that the high pony is the best option for scarf weather.

5.  The twins went to a hayride last night.

A hayride that had boys.

Not sure about how I feel about hayrides and boys.

Not sure how we got here especially since I just dropped them off for kindergarten.  🙂

Having a dream is a wonderful thing.

I love it when dreams come true.

Here’s a story of one that did.

  1. Love your comment about the twins and hayrides. Do all moms feel this way? I sure do. My son is applying for college and I just saw a Halloween photo of him dressed up as a fuzzy dragon when he was 3. I blinked – and everything changed. I’m not sure how that happened, either. 😉

  2. You’re blog is the best place to go for uplifting, creative,
and filling ones mind with beauty!
Wishing you and your family a Wonderful Fall’s Day!
    Take care!

  3. Good morning from wet and chilly Wisconsin! I snickered when you mentioned the twins, boys and a hay wagon…unfortunately we can’t stop the clock! Two of my sons are dressing up for Halloween this year…course they are 27 & 31! So there is some hope that they don’t totally grow up! Enjoy your day! 😉

  4. Pumpkin spiced coffee? I’m soooooo in! And the sweet cups aren’t bad, either! 🙂

Oh no…hayrides and boys…the mini-Thistles are growing up so fast! I’m hoping they hang onto that childhood wonder for a few years more! If only we knew then what we know now, perhaps we would’ve hung onto those years a bit tighter, too?

Hope you are having a blessed weekend!

  5. Time goes by so fast. Enjoy every minute. Make sure to really enjoy the moments with your girls and their boy (friends). I say this because I was a girl who had more friends that were boys. That is not a bad thing. When I was old enough to date I had some idea what I liked and didn’t like about guys. Plus they always looked out for me. Don’t always get worried that it will be serious and heavy.. Guys can be the best of buddies. Just keep drinking that coke mixed with something until they are 90.. ha ha..

  6. Thanks for sharing friend!

  7. Didn’t anyone tell you? That’s how it happens. Kindergarten. . . hayride. . . brown- eyed handsome man walking pretty blonde-haired girls down the aisle. OK, maybe some neat stuff in the middle. Enjoy every millisecond.

  8. I wondered where all the “amy” diet coke landed. I sure I wish I was sitting with you, enjoying a diet coke and gabbing about kiddos, fabric and your beautiful home. This Minnesota girl loves reading about your life. Thanks for sharing and if I come across a “karianne” diet coke, I’ll send it your way

  9. Happy Halloween to my friend and to
all the Thistles at Thistlewood Farm!! : )

  10. As always, I enjoyed our little visit. Happy Fall Y’all!

  11. Oh, your twins on a hayride with boys…college will be here before you blink an eye! Happy Halloween!!

  12. Yes it is chilly here in Ky. Oh oh…boys and hayrides and girls! I love old fashioned caramel apples for surreal! My babies are now 35 and 33. At some point you look around and that once crazy house is now way too quiet. And, my golden furbaby passed away in the summer. So, I am back to my empty nest again. Enjoy the journey…no matter how crazy it is at times. Sheila

  13. Karianne, the biggest understatement ever is that one about “time passes fast when you’re having fun” re: dropping the girls off at kindergarten. I hope they had a great time and I hope you just relaxed and saw the good that is always around you all the time. Thanks for your beautiful post!!

  14. I have to comment on the names on Coke bottles. There is a website just under the Coke name on each bottle: http://www.shareacoke.com. When I glanced at it in the store, I thought, “O Wow! Politics is now invading my favorite junk drink! I honestly thought it said Sharia Coke!!!

And about boys and hayrides. I would be concerned that my children might have the same thoughts I had at that age–Heaven forbid!

  15. Debbie Blalock :

You truly make my day- just thought you should know!

  16. By the way, as long as you’re enjoying a diet coke, Amy is a pretty great name to share it with. Just saying.

  17. Hi Karianne! Lovely roundup (and not because you included my caramel apples).

    The hydrangea wreath is gorgeous!

Don’t feel discouraged at the Coke cooler, I can never find one with my name on it either-lol.

    Have a wonderful day!

  18. I love the hydrangea wreath – so cute!

  19. I don’t get why the note to the lady is so funny, can you help???
