Remember a Little Industrial Farmhouse?

Remember a Little Industrial Farmhouse?

living room design ideas

Remember this room?

Remember all that industrial farmhouse glory?

I designed it over a year ago and it’s still one of my favorites.

Remember where it began?

This was one day before I started.

Just a sofa I designed and walls painted SW Mindful Gray (but you know you already guessed that paint color).

Remember these bookcases and those wire baskets covered in burlap and the industrial shelving?

And the books?

And those burlap storage containers?

And remember this houndstooth chair that transforms into furniture superman when it reclines?

And that raised floral ottoman?

And that wire shade lamp?

Remember this sofa that I designed with its beautiful fabric and silver nail heads and perfect furniture feet?

AndΒ this coffee table that looks like it came over on the Mayflower?

And that bookshelf with drawers?

Remember the details?

These books that I wanted to DIY and the rustic sphere?

And this side table?

And the best part?

Remember all those pounds ago?

Remember when they told me they wanted to take my picture in this space and I said yikes and panicked and ran behind the sofa and held in my stomach and tried to fade into the background and wish myself skinny because I was so embarrassed at how I looked?

Well….guess what?

I may or may not be partnering with La-Z-Boy again on something amazing.

And this time?

This glorious, wonderful, time….watch out world because I’m not hiding any more.

I won’t be behind the couch.

I’ll be front and center with my red lipstick and a smile on my face.

PS Can’t wait to show you what I’ve been cooking up with La-Z-Boy.

And it’s not broccoli. πŸ™‚

  61. I loved that room!!! I think it started my like with industrial pieces here and there. And I did this as a teacher. And I guess I do this with you. I just see “you”. Hard to explain. So I never thought about your size. In fact when you joined the photo I thought oh yes that sweater and black beneath look so nice in this room. What an awesome job.
and now you’ve got more reveals! Congrats

  62. I love the room and I’ve been a La-Z-Boy consumer for years πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  64. Before I knew you were going to bring up your weight in this post, I looked at the picture of you and thought, wow, you’ve worked so hard on your weight loss and it shows! I hope you are proud of yourself–so healthy now! You’ve always been adorable–now you are adorable AND healthy. And I have always loved this room …

  65. So excited for you and can’t wait to see the big reveal…. a big accomplishment on both counts!!

  66. You’re gorgeous no matter what!! But I can’t wait to see what you’ve been working!! : )

  67. I loved that room when you designed it, I voted for it and hoped you would win. It inspired us and we then purchased some Lazy-Boy living room furniture… still saving for end and coffee tables….hopefully I will be able to purchase some designed by you. I am living the season you are leaving behind… hiding behind things or others for pictures or avoiding them all together. I’m getting older and getting scared as this weight is continuing to hamper my self-esteem and my health. I LOVED your story on Becoming, The Unfolding Of You, you gave me hope as I realized you too faced the same struggles that me and many other women do and you succeeded in overcoming them. You have been so real and honest in your video on Becoming and in this post, I hope you will share with us the eating plan you discussed that worked for you, although I realize it would not be an endorsement of that plan or something that may work for everyone. Can’t wait to see what you and Lazy-Boy are doing next!

  68. I agree…gorgeous room. gorgeous design, gorgeous blogger…please share secrets (you spill all the rest of them!!)

  69. You look wonderful, keep up the good work, it shows. Can’t wait to see what you and Lazyboy are cooking up. I’m in the market, so will wait to see what you are doing.

  70. Lovely! I want one!

  71. Do you know where I might find fabric in the large houndstooth pattern?

  72. Incredible work! The room is totally transformed! The way everything comes together is brilliant, and the earth tones are gorgeous! I think one of our raw earth colored custom felt ball rugs would go well with your comfy, rustic feel!

  73. I visit you for two reasons…first and foremost, you are an amazing writer with your ability to be self depricating (which the world needs more of), you are hysterical AND you can make tears spew from my eyes in an instant. Second…you have a fantab style about you—both in your personal style and how you style your gorgeous home!!!
That’s it….see you later when I visit again.
    Carry on…

  74. KariAnne, no matter what you make me smile & giggle & laugh till my belly aches with your amazing comments and anecdotes. Your rooms & home are amazing and so are you! Can’t wait to see another collab with Lazyboy – are you going to get to take the wingback this time too???
Fond wishes from across the miles.

  75. I do remember that room. I remembered it the second I saw it! And, I voted for it too. I love the industrial look….as well as the other styles you use to decorate. The pink and brown little girls’ room is precious! I can’t wait to see what you cook up with Lazy Boy. And, congratulations on the weight loss. That is so hard to do! Your internal beauty is what we all enjoy about you though.
