Get Your Surprised Face Ready

Get Your Surprised Face Ready

mercury bottles

Remember when were younger and your parents bought you presents for Christmas in June and hid them away until December 25 and one day when you opened the drawers in the spare bedroom looking for an umbrella and you accidentally discovered them?

There they would be, simply minding their own business tucked away in over-sized sacks.

And you would want more than anything to take a peek inside those bags.

Just a peek.

But you wanted to make the nice list, so you shut the drawer and walked away and tried to be good, but then you paused for a moment and turned around and opened the drawer one more time….

….and started practicing your surprised face for Christmas morning. 🙂

clock

clocks

This post is kind of just like that.

It’s a sneak peek of Kirkland’s upcoming collections.

They invited me down to the corporate offices and we took a tour and I snapped a few pictures just for you.

farmhouse style

blessed pillow

I thought it would be fun to show you what’s heading into stores soon (like this wood storage container with rope handles and a tufted burlap top).

Before anyone else might have a chance to see it.

I wanted to bring you along on the tour with us and get the behind the scenes sneak peek so you would be totally in the know and when one of your friends shows you what she bought at Kirkland’s, you can be all like, “Umm….my friend KariAnne showed that to me months ago.”

handwash

Here are a few more of my favorites.

Like this mason jar soap.

Those labels?  And wait until you smell them.  The French Lavender soap smells exactly like summer.

reproduction lamp

There’s an entire line of new lighting that looks like it stepped out of the pages of an industrial warehouse.

There are lamps and chandeliers and wire shades.

And wait for it….wait for it….the bulbs come with it.

wood collection

There are arrows.

And reclaimed wood pieces.

And distressed wood frames.

And topiary.

wood and galvanized metal

There are galvanized metal signs.

And wooden boxes.

And dozens and dozens and dozens of new storage containers.

wood sign

There are vintage wood signs.

And signs with quotes.

And signs that inspire you and make you laugh and clear an entire wall in your home to welcome them to your blank wall.

happy harvest

There are pumpkins.

And harvest signs.

And polka dot fall decor.

These are heading to a store near you next month.

pumpkins

And these pumpkins?

Seriously?

They are made of the most amazing material and the stems are metal and they are copper and gold and turquoise colored and make you want to skip over the entire month of August.

upholstered chairs

But here’s what I was the most excited about.

It’s a new custom upholstery program.

There are different chair styles and you can select your fabric and match it to your chair style and completely customize it to your decor.

fabric options

Here’s a sneak peek of some of the fabrics they have available now.

And custom benches are available, too.

And one of the styles even has nail-head trim.

And they are so affordable.  Some of the chair styles were only $79.99 and some were $99.99 (including the customized fabric).

pedestals

Here’s to sneak peeks.

Here’s to mercury glass and turquoise pumpkins and reclaimed wood and carved pedestals and wooden signs and metal-numbered clocks and chairs you can make your own for $79.99.

You can find some of these online right now, but the rest will be coming to a store near you.

Just remember when you see them…..

….make sure you have your surprised face on. 🙂

  1. Lots of fun stuff – how exciting but I think out of it all I like the lamp the best. Thanks for sharing – neat to see all those fun signs too. I love making my own.

  2. Good morning KariAnne,
What fun things you showed us today!!! We’ve got a Kirkland’s here in town, so I’ll have to keep practicing my “surprised” face for when I go in there next! I like the Blessed pillow as that’s how I always sign off…
    Thanks for the great pictures…
    Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Lucky for some who have a Kirklands near them. We had one in Connecticut but they went elsewhere , don’t know why. And how nice for you to be invited, but of course they know you are an awesome blogger 🙂

  4. Debra Matcovich :

Hi, You posted about pumpkins and Harvest décor. To my surprise last year and the same this year in May, Hobby Lobby has fall, and some Christmas décor out. They have to slow down, I’m not done decorating my backyard for the summer.

  5. Robin Stephens :

I saw an Edison fan floor lamp at the Richmond Homearama this year…. My goodness! I fell in love. Instantly. Nice to see a table size one at Kirkland’s. They have super-good sales on their lamps, too! Thanks for the lead! =)

  6. If you get any funnier or cuter I may not be able to stand it! You start my day off just perfectly….always with a great story or idea, and something that makes me laugh all day. Thanks for being you. Love to see anything that has met with your approval as your sense of style is spot on with me.

  8. Cynthia Roush :

Exciting preview. I will be on the lookout. Especially over the pumpkins.

    Thx for sharing

  9. Your story brings back memories. Once upon a time, I revealed a birthday gift to my little brother, a riding toy hidden under a blanket in our basement. I thought I discovered a treasure! Imagine my mother’s surprise when she found us playing with it! How nice to see customizable furniture at a reasonable price. For those who have had to make a color work because of budget and myself who likes to change it up after a year or two. Thanks Kirklands!

  10. So far, I want one of everything. 🙂 But there are two things…for some reason that escapes me…I can’t seem to get enough of. Lamps and clocks. And I love their selection! But also, since Fall is my favorite time of year, those pumpkins are calling to me…yes, they are. Thanks for the preview, Karianne!

  11. Just bury me with a dang pumpkin! I love pumpkins anything pumpkins. You should see my house around fall. Thanks for your post I’ll be looking out for some of these to add to my collection… XO

  15. Bonnie Schulte :

I love that, “surprised face” . It makes me put a smile on my face. And when I read your posts, that smile is real!!

  16. Oh, my stars! I love the pumpkins! Yes, thanks to you, I’ll be doing pumpkin shopping at Kirkland’s. I enjoy your blog, and your family stories. Thank you……

  17. Will they be using your fabric?? I really think they should!! And I love the sneak peek and I promise to act soo very surprised!! Have you ever hidden presents so well that you even forgot to put one out?? I did 🙁 After the frenzy of opening packages on Christmas morning I asked my little princess how she liked her doll house. She answered, “What dollhouse?” Oops!! I forgot to set it out. Santa goofed — he is a little stressed with all the gifts — and he put it in a different place and not under the tress. I had to do some fast talking on that one. Thank you for the “trailer”. Have a great weekend.

  18. Cheryl Autrey :

Thank you so much for sharing these Wonderful items from Kirklands! You make me smile Karieanne every time I read your Blogs!!! They are building a New Kirklands and a Homegoods about 3o Mike’s from our little town! I can’t wait to see all the Beautiful pumpkins as fall is my favorite time of year. All of us are SO BLESSED TO HAVE FOUND YOUR BLOG!!!!

  19. I love the way you start your blog posts = perfection. You rope me in! Great stuff. Can’t wait until it’s available.

  20. Surprised face? Check! Thanks
for letting us take a peak! Love!!

  21. I love sneak peeks! But, really Karieanne, you didn’t actually open those bags and peek in, did you? Not the girl I know with that angel face, big blue eyes and golden hair? Of course, you did!

  22. Oh, what fun to be in on your sneak peek at Kirkland’s! I feel special, and it’s just because YOU are, Hi, KariAnne! I am SO glad to see turquoise among the colors for their Fall decor ~ because I recently purchased two turquoise”slipper”-style chairs (fairly inexpensive) and a rather pricey rug, maybe 18 months ago. However, even tho’ cheap, I will be keeping these things for awhile, maybe even re-covering. I have a stash of great fabric because I have more than these two chairs in the “upholstery queue” … ! My MiL had a weakness for chairs, and a talent for doing beautiful upholstery, so we’ve quite a few!
Oh … and I thought I was way over Chevron, but that first pumpkin is awesome, with its raised, almost ochre, wide lines and chubby stem! It’s SO unique and lovable!
Thanks for including us ~ I can’t wait to get my hands on the goodies! kj

  23. Oooops, kind of inserted my greeting … Thought I was at the beginning!

  24. Ohhh, so cute. I’ll have to get on over there and see what’s new. 😀

  25. Ok, I cannot wait to see this stuff! And seriously, chairs you can customize for that low of a price? Yes, please. And my surprise face? I’ve got it down! 😉
    Happy weekend, friend!

    Cecilia

  26. Leslie Watkins :

Oh, my goodness! My surprised face was beaming when I read you were invited to Kirklands corporate—WHAT?!!! Amazing! Love all of those surprises…can’t wait til they appear here at ours. You brought back wonderful memories of finding Christmas in the attic attached to our playroom…forgotten hidden gifts still tucked away after Christmas. Thanks for the memories. 😉

  27. Rebecca Turner :

I love how you confessed, shared a memory, and connected the dots, (so to speak). I wonder if my daughter has any “discovery” secrets? Smiling. LOVE that turquoise pumpkin! I think I need it.

  28. Love Kirklands, thanks for the peeks!!!
