12 Days of Christmas

12 Days of Christmas

12 Days of Christmas

Tomorrow is December 1.

And I am going to do something I have never done before.

Cooking pork chops?

Hula hooping and balancing an encyclopedia on my head….all while playing Silent Night on the banjo?

Something much more challenging and rewarding and exciting and overwhelming than strumming five strings wearing a World Book.

(drumroll please)

I am going to post every day for the entire first 12 Days of Christmas.

December 1-12.

Can you even believe it?

All Christmas….all the time.

Thistlewood Christmas Bedroom

There’s going to be Christmas decorations and a house tour and projects and stockings and ornaments and recipes and more Christmas inspiration than you can even imagine.

And the best part?

I’m not alone.  I have five friends with me!  I’m so excited to be 12-Day-of-Christmasing with Donna and Michael and Marianne and Whitney and Ashley!

And we are bringing presents with us….each day we are giving away hand selected (and some homemade) presents right from our homes to yours!

And to celebrate that we made it through all 12 days of Christmas….

on December 13 we are each having a linky party.

Mine is so much more affordable 🙂

Thistlewood Farm Christmas Trees

I think I need a smiley face intervention.

Seriously.  🙂

I mean….I knew I used them a lot.

I just can’t help it…..I think the world needs a good smiley face for emphasis every now and then.Continue reading

O Christmas Tree

O Christmas Tree

On Thanksgiving weekend….somewhere between Christmas decorating and eating turkey and stuffing and watching an entire marathon of happily-ever-afters…..

…..we managed to cut down a Christmas tree.

My children were a little amazed.

I think they thought Christmas trees only came from Wal-mart. 🙂

PS  Read about our adventure and preview a little front door decorating over at the Folk blog today.

Pumpkin Rolls in a Cornucopia

Did you know that Thanksgiving is tomorrow?

Can you even believe it?

Doesn’t it just seem like we were watching fireworks and swatting mosquitos and eating hot dogs and singing God Bless America yesterday…..on the Fourth of July?

But you see….I knew Thanksgiving was right around the corner.

It was hard to miss.

For the past week our local news station has shown “The Week In Weather” in the mornings with a dancing turkey graphic on Thanksgiving day.  The turkey dances all around and kind of squawks and wiggles and shimmies and shakes his tail feathers….all over November 22.

And the best part…..he’s wearing a pilgrim hat.Continue reading
